PEMBROKE -- Adolph Locklear Jr., 22, of Route 2 died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Anna Free Will Baptist Church by the Revs. Eudene Locklear and Tony Miller. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Locklear is survived by a son, Tyler L. Locklear of Lumberton; his father, Adolph Locklear Sr. of Pembroke; his mother, Alice R. Jones of Pembroke; two brothers, Earn N. Locklear and Kerry K. Locklear, both of Pembroke; and his maternal grandmother, Florida M. Revels of Pembroke.

The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 7 at Thompson’s Funeral Home.

Lloyd Smith Jr. (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

UNION, N.J. -- Lloyd Smith Jr., 59, of 1760 Walker Ave., formerly of Turkey, N.C., died Saturday.

Arrangements will be announced by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mattie J. Beamon (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

CLINTON -- Mrs. Mattie J. Beamon, 90, of 113 Henry Lee Lane died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. H.R. Cogdell. Burial will be in Sandhills Cemetery.

Mrs. Beamon is survived by her husband, Charlie Beamon of Clinton; a daughter, Antoinette Underwood of Clinton; a son, Edward Pridgen of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Myrtith A. Brown (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

JACKSON HAMLET -- Myrtith A. Brown, 73, of Jackson Hamlet died Monday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Purcell Funeral Home of Southern Pines.

Bradford Tyner Sr. (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

Bradford “Braddy” Tyner Sr., 76, of 4408 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, died Monday in Whispering Pines Nursing Home.

Mr. Tyner retired from Dixie Yarns Textile Manufacturing after 47 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Rev. Bobby West. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tyner is survived by his wife, Marie W. Tyner of the home; four daughters, Ruth Sayre of Edison, Ohio, Faye Tyner of Hope Mills, Naomi Lanier of Wallace and Sherry Edge of St. Pauls; two sons, Bradford Tyner Jr. of Suffolk, Va., and Danny R. Tyner of Hope Mills; a brother, William Tyner of Fayetteville; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellen B. Thames (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

Mrs. Ellen Budd Thames, 78, of 2012 Center St., Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Th funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Revs. Gerald McDowell and Norwood Tadlock. Burial will be in Parkton Cemetery.

Mrs. Thames is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Thames of the home; a son, John D. Thames of Parkton; a brother, Jerry Budd of Fayetteville; a sister, Dorothy Johnson of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Rufus Burns (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

LUMBERTON -- Rufus Burns, 65, of 1320 Deep Branch Road died Monday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Revels Funeral Home of Pembroke.

Jack C. Sanderson (Dated Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998)

RAEFORD -- Jack Clifton Sanderson, 71, of 3396 Red Springs Road died Sunday in his home.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today in Shannon Baptist Church by the Rev. George McKeithan. Burial will be in Antioch Presbyterian Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanderson is survived by his wife, Bernice Sanderson of the home; four sons, Wayne Sanderson of Hope Mills, Johnny Sanderson of Southern Pines, Jeff Sanderson of Red Springs and Donald Sanderson of Raeford; four daughters, Kathryn Thornton of Mebane, Susan Bradas of Alexandria, La., and Joan Wallace and Joanne Sanderson, both of Raeford; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arthur J. Lambert (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Arthur J. Lambert, 77, of 2616 Brentford Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in his home.

Mr. Lambert was a sales clerk at the Fort Bragg Commissary before retiring.

A private funeral service will be held.

Mr. Lambert is survived by two brothers, Frances A. Lambert of Fountain End, S.C., and Cleophas N. Lambert of Torrance, Calif.; and two sisters, Annie L. Lambert and Ethel M. Lambert, both of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Edward T. Townsend (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Edward Thomas Townsend, 88, of 603 Argyll Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in his home.

A private memorial service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Thelma B. Townsend; five sons, Thomas E. Townsend of Chappell Hill, Texas, James C. Townsend of Hampton, Va., Charles L. Townsend of Caanen, N.H., John D. Townsend of Holly Hill, Fla., and Richard B. Townsend of Minot, N.D.; a daughter, Peggy T. Vick of Fayetteville; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James T. Bullard (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

James Thomas Bullard, 70, of 810 Griffin St., Fayetteville, died Friday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Butler Funeral Home by the Rev. Donnie Anderson. Burial will be in Bullard Cemetery.

Mr. Bullard is survived by a sister, Mable Bordeaux of Fayetteville; and a brother, Sam Bullard of Stedman.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Millie L. Hood (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Mrs. Millie Barnes Lamb Hood, 86, of Len Care Rest Home, Fayetteville, died Friday.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Randy White and Robert Ivey. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson.

Mrs. Hood is survived by a son, Carlyle Hood of Las Vegas; a daughter, Margretta H. Adams of Fayetteville; a brother, Wade Hampton of Wilson; a sister, Dr. Christine White of Sunbury, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at 3405 Florida Drive.

Charles O. Woodard (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Charles Otto “Chick” Woodard, 62, of 5141 Wichita Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Carl E. Brinkley Jr. Burial will be in Antioch Church cemetery in Granite Quarry.

Mr. Woodard is survived by two brothers, Roosevelt Woodard Jr. of Philadelphia and Leroy S. Woodard of Fayetteville; and two sisters, Verna L. Griffin and Rosemary W. Watts, both of Philadelphia.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ruby W. Blakeney, 5141 Wichita St..

Mrs. Yvonne DeLoach (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Mrs. Yvonne DeLoach, 58, of 1708 Boros Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel. Burial will be in Mount Zion AME Zion Church cemetery in Eastover.

Mrs. DeLoach is survived by her husband, William F. DeLoach Jr. of Atlanta; two sons, Kevin DeLoach and Andre DeLoach, both of Fayetteville; two daughters, Sharon DeLoach and Atonya DeLoach, both of Fayetteville; a sister, Emma J. Baker of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

The public will be received Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Smith (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

Mrs. Mary Smith, 95, of 201 A Law Road, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Fayetteville Health Center.

Mrs. Lillian M. Foxx (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

LANDOVER, Md. -- Mrs. Lillian Matthews Foxx, 49, of 6912 Flagstaff St., formerly of Clinton, N.C., died Monday in Doctors Hospital in Washington, D.C.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Summerville-Boykin Mortuary chapel in Garland, N.C., by the Rev. Jerry L. Johnson. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Clinton.

Mrs. Foxx is survived by a son, Robert H. Foxx Jr. of Landover; her mother, Nannie K. Matthews of Clinton; and a sister, Linda D. Bannett of Ingold, N.C.

The public will be received today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary W. Smith (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Mary Willis Smith, 79, of 1860 W. New York Ave. died Tuesday in St. Joseph of the Pines.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Seventh Day Adventist Church by the Rev. Nathaniel Good. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Simon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Doris F. Oates of Neptune, N.J.; a son, James L. Smith Jr. of the home; a sister, Ethel Glenn of Durham; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church

Mrs. Mildred Burrage (Dated Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998)

SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Mildred Burrage, 66, of 1424 W. Pennsylvania Ave. died Thursday in her home.

Mrs. Burrage was a member of Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Christ Church. She was a retired postal worker.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Christ Church by Pastor Roy McKoy. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery in Pinebluff.

Mrs. Burrage is survived by a daughter, Quinell Ray of Pinebluff; three sons, Roderick Brown of Hewitt, Texas, Allus Brown of Chicago and Neville Brown of the home; five sisters, Carol Jackson, Clemetine Nelson, Denise McCline, Antoniette Branch and Celestine Branch, all of Chicago; two brothers, Harold Branch and John Branch, both of Chicago; and six grandchildren.

The public will be received Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Simon Funeral Home.
