PINEHURST -- Harry Edgar Opsahl, 85, of Pinehurst, died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Opsahl was an Army veteran of World War II. He received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Pinelawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Michael Garber.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. June 20 in Boles Funeral Home and Crematory Pinehurst chapel.
Mr. Opsahl is survived by his wife, Sally H. Opsahl; two daughters, Randi Opsahl and Christine McEwan, both of Whitestone, N.Y.; a sister, Randi Burke of Manorville, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Queen Esther Fredricks, 62, of 288 Bartow Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Mary I. Cromartie (Dated Wednesday, June 10, 1998)
ELIZABETHTOWN -- Mrs. Mary Isabell Cromartie, 80, of 118 Iws Drive died Monday in Elizabethtown Nursing Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. John AME Zion Church by the Rev. R.L. Selby. Burial will be in St. John cemetery.
Mrs. Cromartie is survived by a daughter, Hilda Smith of Clarkton; two sons, Richard Cromartie Jr. and J.Q. Cromartie, both of Elizabethtown; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

WILMINGTON -- Mrs. Bonnie Kinlaw Hickman, 84, of Cape Fear Hotel Apartments died Monday in Cornelia Nixon Davis Nursing Home.

Donald Fuller Sr. (Dated Wednesday, June 10, 1998)
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Donald Fuller Sr., 48, of Orlando, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Wednesday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Good Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Alfred Holston. Burial will be in Mount Hebrew Cemetery in Parkton, N.C.
Mr. Fuller is survived by four sons, Donald Fuller Jr., Raheem Fuller and Dennis Fuller, all of Newark, N.J., and Christopher L. Fuller of Fort Myers; two daughters, Chrystal Wells of Fayetteville and Shanta L. Fuller of Fort Myers; his father, Raymond Fuller of Fayetteville; a brother, James Fuller of Orlando; three sisters, Priscilla McDonald of Parkton, Emily Easley of Rahway, N.J., and Gereldine Lollis of Hope Mills; and two grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 2 to 6 p.m. at H.M. Colvin Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

WASHINGTON, N.C. -- Richard “Ralph” Leggett Jr., 73, of 7529 Cherry Run Road died Sunday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Paul Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. William F. Ambrose. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Among Mr. Leggett’s survivors is a brother, Jerry D. Leggett of Fayetteville.

GOLDSBORO -- Mrs. Dorothy Lee Jones, 57, of Goldsboro, formerly of Turkey, died Monday in Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mrs. Jones was a choir member and a Sunday school teacher at Turkey Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Turkey Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church by the Revs. Ed Tatum and Joyce Bryant. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Floyd L. Jones of the home; a daughter, Brenda J. Register of Rose Hill; a son, Floyd L. Jones Jr. of Turkey; her mother, Doris L. Wilson of Turkey; three sisters, Annette W. Hopkins and Nancy W. Watkins, both of Turkey, and Alice W. Wilson of Summerville, S.C.; and four brothers, Larry Wilson of Turkey, Roy G. Wilson of James Island, S.C., Donnie R. Wilson of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Roger Wilson of Roseboro.

WHITE OAK -- William Carl Lloyd Sr., 53, of 5948 N.C. 53 West died Saturday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Thomas AME Zion Church by the Rev. John M. Melvin and elder Garrett Lloyd. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Daisy M. Lloyd; three daughters, Tammy A. Lloyd and Debbie L. Ruff, both of White Oak, and Stephanie McLaurin of Elizabethtown; two sons, Rodney E. Lloyd of Brooklyn, N.Y., and William C. Lloyd Jr. of White Oak; his mother Lula W. Lloyd of White Oak; five sisters, Annie J. Kindred and Francis D. Lloyd, both of Brooklyn, Teresa M. Lloyd and Mary L. Johnson, both of White Oak, and Marie Johnson of Jersey City, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren.

SPRUCE PINE -- W. Kelly McDonald, 62, of 504 Rogers St., formerly of Fayetteville, died Tuesday.
Mr. McDonald was a member of the John Huske Anderson Masonic Lodge.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville by the Rev. Leighton McKeithen. Burial with Masonic rites will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Elizabeth S. McDonald of Spruce Pine; a daughter, Michele M. Holden, of Canton; five sisters, Edith Harris and Brenda Holt, both of Fayetteville, Virginia LaDolce of Rochester, N.Y., Iris Raynor of Harrisburg and Linda Brown of Maryville, Tenn.; and four brothers, Kenneth McDonald, Gary McDonald, and Craven McDonald, all of Fayetteville, and Graham McDonald of Lake City, S.C.

LILLINGTON -- Denzel Arness King, infant son of Daniel and Angela King of Lillington, died Monday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
In addition to his parents, Denzel is survived by his grandparents, Willie Mae and Howard McLean of Lillington, John and Veola Sanders of Bunnlevel, Daniel and Betty King of Fayetteville, and Larry Peoples of Raleigh.

HOPE MILLS -- Sherman Floyd Nunnery Jr., 30, of 3814 Legion Road died Saturday.
Mr. Nunnery was a plumber.
A graveside service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Hardee family cemetery on Hardeewood Drive.
Mr. Nunnery is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lynda F. Nunnery and Panuel Locklear of the home; a sister, Lynda “Beth” Larson of Kansas; and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy A. Nunnery of Autryville.

Mrs. Maxine Branch Jennings, 92, of Fayetteville died Monday in Hope Mills Retirement Center in Hope Mills.
Mrs. Jennings was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 2 by the Rev. James B. McCoy III. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers & Breece Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by a daughter, Mary J. Longbottom of Fayetteville; a son, William B. Jennings Jr. of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
