SANFORD -- C.V. Yarborough, 77, of 901 Harkey Road died Wednesday.
Mr. Yarborough was an Army veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Edgewood Presbyterian Church by Dr. Dale Miller. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Mr. Yarborough is survived by his wife, Eva W. Yarborough; two sons, Ronnie Yarborough and Ricky L. Yarborough, both of Sanford; a daughter, Susan Rugh of Sanford; three brothers, John Yarborough and Archie Yarborough, both of Sanford, and James Yarborough of Fuquay-Varina; two sisters, Erma Thomas of Sanford and Madge Johnson of Youngsville; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Walter Williams
Walter Williams, 97, of 1411 Farwell Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Moore’s Chapel in Stedman by the Rev. Carolyn China. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by a daughter, Annie Faison of Fayetteville; a son, Walter A. Williams of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mary L. Carvin of Stedman and Odessa Autry of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Cunningham & Sons Mortuary.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Elizabeth Buchanan Waseman, 77, of 309 Green St. died Tuesday in Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Danny Redmon. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Mrs. Waseman is survived by two daughters, Marsha W. Winfree of Richmond and Penny W. Richardson of Powhatan, Va.; a sister, Willard B. Lawing of Sanford; two brothers, Walter W. Buchanan and William R. ‘‘Bill’’ Buchanan, both of Sanford; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2 p.m. at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

MIAMI -- Warren Eugene Street, 53, of 170 N.W. 44th St., formerly of Sanford, N.C., died Sunday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Blandonia Presbyterian Church USA by the Rev. Mamie Wilson. Burial will be in Minter Cemetery in Sanford.
Mr. Street is survived by his wife, Minnie M. Street of Carthage; six sisters, Stella Haywood and Alma Medley, both of Camden, N.J., Velma Ethridge of Appling, Ga., Evelyn Davis of New Haven, Conn., Geneva McCormick of North Babylon, N.Y., and Nina Verbel of Sanford; and a brother, James W. Street of Sanford.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Watson Mortuary in Sanford and at other times at the home of Nina Verbel, 1344 Summerset Place, Sanford.

MARIETTA -- Mrs. Alena Stokes, 71, of 588 Pittman Loop Road died Tuesday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mrs. Stokes is survived by two daughters, Beverly Ford of Durham and Shirley J. Goodson of the home; two sons, Rigaud Ford of Durham and Bruce L. Ford of Fairmont; four sisters, Smithie S. Faulk of Fairmont, Lucile Bridgers of Lumberton, Shirley Baldwin of Baltimore and Jean Stackhouse; four brothers, Taft Stokes of Fairmont, Braddock Stokes of Lumberton, Leon Livingston of Durham and Harvey Livingston of Charlotte; two stepbrothers, Elanier Livingston of Elizabethtown and Thomas Livingston of Fairmont; four stepsisters, Clematene Ray, Betty Lowery, Sally Facker and Lou H. McNeil, all of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sasser was a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church. She was a teaching assistant for Elizabethtown Schools.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 tonight in Kinlaw Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. David Elks. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sasser family cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Sasser is survived by her husband, Ralph Sasser of Elizabethtown; three sons, Alan Sasser of Greensboro, Keith Sasser of Goldsboro and Lee Sasser of Elizabethtown; a brother, Willie Nix of North Augusta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
