Verlon E. Brown
CLINTON -- Verlon Earl ‘‘Brownie’’ Brown, 79, of 306 Holly Circle died Thursday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church. He was the owner and manager of Clinton Apparel Manufacturing Co. before retiring. He was a Marine veteran.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Clinton City Cemetery by the Revs. Charles Burrell and Adrian Burrell. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Thelma C. Brown of Clinton; two daughters, Sandra B. Wheless and Patricia Brown; two brothers, J.T. Brown and Delbert Brown; a sister, Deloris Cunningham; and three grandchildren.
The family will recieve friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the home.

Annie M. Barnes
RICHMOND, Va. -- Mrs. Annie Mote Barnes, 90, of 8219 Overbury Road, formerly of Garland, N.C., died Tuesday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Beards Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. L.L. Barnes Jr. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Barnes of Richmond; a brother, Daniel Mote of Harrells, N.C.; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Carter Funeral Home.
Lillian M. Williams
ABERDEEN -- Ms. Lillian Mae Williams, 95, of 124 N. Poplar St. died Wednesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Ms. Williams was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Boles Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines by the Rev. Dennis Patterson.
Ms. Williams is survived by a son, Garland G. Williams of the home; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

BENSON -- Samuel Lee Williams, 56, of 1310 Chicopee Road died Tuesday in his home.
The funeral will be conduced at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Dafford Funeral Home chapel in Dunn by Minister Charles Ellerbee.
Mr. Williams is survived by two sons, Sammy J. Williams and Paul Williams, both of Benson; two stepsons, James Jackson of Dunn and Darryl Jackson of Fayetteville; two daughters, Joyce Farmer of the home and Minister Lisa Williams of Columbia, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Betty Ellerbee and Carolyn Butts, both of Benson, and Helen Mitchell of Raleigh; his mother, Gertrude Williams of Bishopville, S.C.; five brothers, Charles Williams and Joseph Williams, both of Bishopville, and Johnny L. Williams, Wesley Williams and Roosevett Williams, all of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Evelyn Charles of Bishopville, Rosa Wilson of Washington, D.C., and Allison Rembert of Philadelphia; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
The public will be received Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

GASTONIA -- Ms. Martha Louise Thompson Davis, 57, of 510 Efrid St. died Wednesday in Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Harry S. Stone
ROWLAND -- Harry Slemin Stone, 76, of 3803 U.S. 301 South died Wednesday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Mr. Stone was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Stone was a member of Back Swamp Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today in Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Gary Lucas. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory of Lumberton.
Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Sarah S. Stone of the home; two sons, Harry R. Stone of Beaufort and Jerry F. Stone of Lumberton; two brothers, Allen M. Stone of Greensboro and E.W. Stone of Rowland; a sister, Grace S. Lewis of Raleigh; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

LUMBERTON -- Willis James Robinson, 57, of 681 McIver Road died Sunday in his home.

Jones and Peggy A. Denby, both of New Jersey, Sally Willis of Fayetteville and Rosa L. Roberts, Janice Taylor and Janet Robinson, all of Florida; and three brothers, Robert L. Robinson and Emanuel Robinson, both of New Jersey, and Samuel Robinson of Florida.

BALTIMORE -- Connor Raynor, 73, of 308 Leeanne Road, formerly of Benson, N.C., died Tuesday in Franklin Square Hospital.
Mr. Raynor was an Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Mrs. Kinlaw was a teacher at McDowell Technical College and was a beautician.
