SHANNON -- Harold Bell, 55, of 1600 Wagon Wheel Road died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Mr. Bell was a retired deputy sheriff for the Robeson County Sheriff's Department.

The funeral will be conduced at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Shannon Assembly of God by the Revs. Mitchell Oxendine and Herbert Chavis. Burial will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home of Red Springs.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Linda Bell of Shannon; three sons, Harold Bell Jr. and Mickey Bell, both of Shannon, and Ryan D. Bell of the home; five daughters, Wanda L. Hammonds and Erica Bell, both of Shannon, and Kayla Jones, Ashley Bell and Leanne Bell, all of the home; his mother, Vera Bell of Shannon; two brothers, Archie Bell Jr. and James Bell, both of Shannon; four sisters, Betty Brayboy and Shelia Locklear, both of Shannon, Ellen Locklear of Red Springs and Elizabeth Brooks of Pembroke; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Shannon Assembly of God.

Michael A. McGill
(Dated Thursday, April 1, 1999)
Michael A. McGill, 37, of 300 Hawthorne Road, Fayetteville, died March 24 in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Cureton L. Johnson. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.

Mr. McGill is survived by his wife, Myra McGill of Wilmington; two sons, Michael McGill and Mathew McGill, both of Wilmington; a stepdaughter, Joyce McDonald of Wilmington; a stepson, Jason McDonald of Wilmington; his mother, Mary McGill of Fayetteville; six brothers, Isaiah McGill Jr., Charles McGill, Samuel McGill, Baldwin McGill, Patrick McGill and Trevino McGill, all of Fayetteville; and three sisters, Barbara Lytle, Alfreda Hammond and Altovise McGill, all of Fayetteville.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

The family will receive friends at 2801 Coronado Parkway.

Mrs. Florence F. Sessoms

SMITHFIELD, Va. -- Mrs. Florence Effie Foelsing Sessoms, 70, of 504 Cranford Road, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Saturday.

Mrs. Sessoms formerly was a civil service budget analyst at Pope Air Force Base, N.C.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Sessoms is survived by her husband, Dewey Sessoms of Smithfield; a daughter, Georgiana A. Havill of Reston; four sons, Charles Atkins of Reston, William Sessoms of Sanford, N.C., Ray Sessoms of Chicago and James Sessoms of Leland, N.C.; a sister, Susanne F. Giglio of Arlington, Va.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Vivian H. Beeson
(Dated Monday, April 5, 1999)
CHARLOTTE -- Mrs. Vivian Humpphery Beeson of Charlotte, formerly of Rockingham, died Saturday.

Mrs. Beeson was a teacher for the Richmond County schools.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Rockingham by the Rev. Leonard Mayo. Burial will be in Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham. Arrangements are being handled by Watson-King Funeral Home of Rockingham

Mrs. Beeson is survived by a son, Dr. Gilbert W. Beeson Jr. of Fayetteville; a daughter, Sylvia Stinson of Charlotte; a sister, Margaret Tyner of St. Pauls; two stepbrothers, David Dean and E.J. Dean, both of St. Pauls; a stepsister, Elizabeth McMillan of Red Springs; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Helen H. Parks
(Dated Monday, April 5, 1999)
LAUREL HILL -- Mrs. Helen Holmes Parks, 74, of 14800 Peterson St. died Sunday in her home.

Mrs. Parks retired from the sample room at J.P. Stevens.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church by the Revs. Russell Baker and Don Malpass. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park in Laurinburg.

Mrs. Parks is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Fipps of Laurel Hill; two brothers, Sterling Holmes of Dunn and Leo Holmes of Kissimee, Fla.; a sister, Reice Eaton of Hope Mills; and a granddaughter.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.

Ms. Jessie Bullard

MAXTON -- Ms. Jessie Bullard, 74, of 1225 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Road died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Jackson Funeral Home chapel by Dr. J. Cummings. Burial will be in Piney Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.

Ms. Bullard is survived by her mother, Lena McCrimmon of Maxton.

CLINTON -- Mrs. Juanita Hutchens, 76, of 224 Pearl St. died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

RAEFORD -- Ms. Mary Ellen Lisenby, 68, of 110 Campus Ave. died Saturday in Open Arms Rest Home.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Crumpler Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Raeford Cemetery.

Ms. Lisenby is survived by four sons, Johnny Lisenby of Hope Mills, David Lisenby of Laurinburg, Kenneth Lisenby of Vass and James Lisenby of Fayetteville; a daughter, Betty J. Brock of Raeford; three brothers, C.W. Jackson and Jimmy Jackson, both of Hope Mills, and David Jackson of Ohio; a sister, Patsy Foster of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ms. Quessie P. Recher

ST. PAULS -- Ms. Quessie Parnell Recher, 86, of 7310 Chicken Foot Road died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton by the Rev. Jonathon Hickman. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.

Ms. Recher is survived by three daughters, Patricia Bankhead of Seven Lakes, Treva B. Merritt of St. Pauls and Alma Barnes of Greenwood, S.C.; a son, Jerry Recher of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory in Lumberton.

Ms. Yvonne Marshall

LAUREL HILL -- Ms. Yvonne Marshall, 50, of 19021 Whispering Pines died Wednesday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. M.W. Davis. Burial will be in Patterson Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Jackson Funeral Home.

Ms. Marshall is survived by three sons, Dale Cotton and Kevin Marshall, both of Laurel Hill, and Herbert Cotton of Lexington; a daughter, Dorothy J. Cotton of Lexington; two brothers, Purcell Marshall of Lexington and Samuel Marshall of Charlotte; six sisters, Corrina Regan of Rockingham, Margaret Baldwin of Lexington, Johnsie Hall, Mary McLaurin, Patricia Marshall and Linda Graham, all of Laurel Hill; and three grandchildren.

Edward ‘Ed’ Dial
ROWLAND -- Edward ‘‘Ed’’ Dial, 66, of 8061 U.S. 74 West died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Harpers Ferry Baptist Church by the Revs. Gary Thompson and Harvey Brewington. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Dial is survived by his wife, Gertrude L. Dial of Rowland; a son, John F. Dial of Pembroke; a daughter, Melissa D. Vance of Lumberton; his mother, Betty Dial of Maxton; seven brothers, Joseph Dial, the Rev. Listern Dial, Rayburn Dial, Henry Dial, Kelly Dial and Ellery Dial, all of Maxton, and Crayton Dial of Pembroke; four sisters, Eleanor Bullard and Bertha Spaulding, both of Maxton, Betty Lockley of Pembroke and Kallet Yerovsek of Leesburg, Va.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 7 at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Pembroke.

George F. Schramm Jr.
(Dated Monday, April 5, 1999)
WHISPERING PINES -- George F. Schramm Jr., 62, of 20 Shadow Drive died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mr. Schramm was a car salesman for McBrayer Chrysler in Aberdeen.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home and Crematory in Southern Pines.

Mr. Schramm is survived by his wife, Barbara Schramm of Whispering Pines; two sons, Robert Schramm and Gregory Schramm, both of Boca Ratan, Fla.; a daughter, Jeanette Pipitone of Boca Raton; two stepdaughters, Deborah Fitzko of Queens, N.Y., and JoAnne Sepe of Long Island, N.Y.; and three grandsons.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home.

SOUTHERN PINES -- Ms. Patricia Halbert Thomas, 71, of Southern Pines died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Consolatta Mausoleum in Lake Charles, La., by the Rev. Mark Holland. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home & Crematory.

Ms. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Barbara T. Nine of Greensboro; a son, John M. Thomas of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and three grandchildren.

Ms. Edna K. Thomas

Ms. Thomas is survived by a son, Meredith G. Thomas of Sunset Beach; a daughter, Gloria Dalrymple of Sanford; three brothers, Otis Kelly, Howard Kelly and Shelton Kelly, all of Sanford; three sisters, Grace Wicker, Bertha Thomas and Eunice Johnson, all of Sanford; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
