LAUREL HILL -- Ms. Mary Lee Jordan, 54, of 19301 Corbitt Road died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Butler Funeral Service by the Rev. Gary Teague. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Ms. Jordan is survived by two sons, James Jordan and Branson Jordan, both of Bennettsville, S.C.; a daughter, Donna Novies of Monroe; two brothers, Ronald Starling and Charles Starling, both of Laurel Hill; seven sisters, Crystal Starling, Shirley Locklear, Linda Prevatte, Patricia Parker and Kimberly Norton, all of Laurel Hill, Rita Maynor of Pembroke and Lisa Hunt of Laurinburg; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Esther W. Edwards

BLADENBORO -- Mrs. Esther Ward Edwards, 73, of Bladenboro died Saturday in her home.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of Galeed Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Galeed Baptist Church by the Revs. Bruce Cannon and Sidney Britt. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Horace C. Edwards of the home; two daughters, Patsy E. Bowman of High Point and Betty E. Miller of Wilmington; two sons, Andy Edwards of Rocky Mount and Kenneth Edwards of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Hazel Davis of Fayetteville and Darlene Kelly of Bladenboro; and eight grandchildren.

WADE -- Mrs. Janice Fischer, 60, of Route 1 died Friday in her home.
Mrs. Fischer was a member of Center Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fischer is survived by her husband, Victor J. Fischer; two daughters, Theresa Boyels of Livingston, N.Y., and Donna DeMarzo of West Islep, N.Y.; a brother, Royce Maxwell of Wilmington; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Beatty is survived by his wife, Mattie Beatty of the home; a daughter, Wilma Winslow of Red Springs; a brother, Marvin Beatty of Bolton; two sisters, Marjoree Bowen of Riegelwood and Josie Hollingworth of Temple Hills, Md.; and four grandchildren.

Thomas E. Edwards, 54, of 612-A Frink St., Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Cureton L. Johnson. Burial will be in Swan’s Creek Church cemetery in Hope Mills.
Mr. Edwards is survived by two daughters, Tonya Edwards and Thomasina Edwards, both of Fayetteville; a stepson, Derrick Pinkney of Hope Mills; a stepdaughter, Monica Jeffery of Raleigh; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy M. and James Best of LaGrange; two brothers, Lynwood Edwards of Lumberton and Robert Wilkins of Kenansville; a sister, Dorothy M. Edwards of Kinston; and nine grandchildren.

Robert W. ‘Bob’ Manley
SPRING LAKE -- Retired Army Sgt. Robert E. ‘‘Bob’’ Manley, 76, of 2904 Collingwood St. died Wednesday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Manley was a veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Adcock Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Thomas Gardner. Burial with military honors will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Manley is survived by his wife, Martha B. Manley of Duisburg, Germany; a sister, Dixie J. Ellis of Wichita, Kan.; and four brothers, Wayne Manley and Bill Manley, both of Springfield, Mo., C.E. Manley of Ava, Mo., and Joe Manley of Pleasant Hope, Mo.

Ross and Betty Carthon, both of Fayetteville; two sons, Michael A. Lewis of Pueblo, Colo., and James A. Lewis of Raeford; a brother, Sam Lewis of Elizabethtown; 26 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
