James I. Dameron

LAURINBURG -- James Ira Dameron, 57, of 11800 Cypress Drive died Friday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Dameron was a former machinist for National Twist Drill.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Revs. Jerry Wilkes and Kenneth Blease. Burial will be Wednesday in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
Mr. Dameron is survived by his wife, Patsy S. Dameron; two sons, James W. Dameron of Laurinburg and Mark S. Dameron of Maxton; his mother, Bertha W. Dameron of Kingsport, Tenn.; three brothers, Jack Dameron and Aaron Dameron, both of Tazewell, Va., and Jerry Dameron of Blountville, Tenn.; a sister, Sandra Wallace of Laurinburg; and a grandson.

Gayther E. Gurganious Sr.

Gayther Edgar ‘‘Gus’’ Gurganious Sr., 67, of 1812 Martindale Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Ken Pritchard. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Willard.
Mr. Gurganious is survived by a daughter, Rose A. Gurganious of Fayetteville; two sons, Victor M. Gurganious and Tony M. Gurganious, both of Fayetteville; five sisters, Durema Latham of Hampstead, Nancy Rogers, Jo Pridgen and Brenda McAdams, all of Wilmington, and Toni Taylor of Jacksonville; and a brother, Mike Gurganious of Willard.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
William H. West

SANFORD -- William Howard West, 80, of 2063 Falling Stream died Friday in Central Carolina Hospital.
Mr. West was a teacher and a principal in North Carolina public schools before retiring. He attended First Baptist Church in Aberdeen.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home chapel in Thomasville. Burial will be in Thomasville City Cemetery.
Mr. West is survived by two daughters, Norma W. Piestrak of Sanford and Sarah W. Royal of Clayton; two sons, John M. West of Raleigh and William H. West Jr. of Trinity; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Ronie M. Woodel

CARTHAGE -- Ms. Ronie M. Woodel, 86, of 801 Pinehurst Ave. died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Ms. Woodel retired from Bassett Furniture in Ramseur.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Bennett Baptist Church cemetery in Bennett by the Rev. James E. Cockram.
Ms. Woodel is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Needham of Seagrove; a son, Jerry R. Woodel of Robbins; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins.
Mrs. Clara M. Hamm

Mrs. Clara May Hamm, 72, of 2743 Legion Road, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Hamm was a member of First Baptist Church.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg by Dr. Glenn Holt. Arrangements were handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hamm is survived by a son, David W. Hamm of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Vivian S. Hall

Mrs. Vivian Snuggs Hall of 200 Pate Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in her home.
Mrs. Hall taught English and Latin at Goldsboro High School, Massey Hill High School and Terry Sanford High School. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 21 in First Baptist Church by Dr. John Bergland. Arrangements are being handled by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband, Dr. Daniel K. Hall of Fayetteville; three daughters, Katherine Pugh of Fayetteville, Dr. Jenny L. Hall of Goldsboro and Sarah J. Wolfe of Panama; two sons, Dr. Stephen F. Pate of Las Cruces, N.M., and Kirk Hall of Louisville, Ky.; and six grandchildren.

Mr. Green was a retired carpenter.

Mrs. Bonner was a member of Elevation United Methodist Church. She worked in the retail clothing business before retiring.
