Willie V. Lowry

PEMBROKE -- Willie Von Lowry, 72, of 606 Normal St. died Monday in Pemberton Place Nursing Home.
Mr. Lowry was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance before retiring. He was a barber for 40 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Prospect United Methodist Church by the Revs. Bill J. Locklear, Simeon Cummings and Dell Harris. Burial will be in the Deese family cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Revels Funeral Home.
Mr. Lowry is survived by his wife, Sue N. Lowry of Pembroke; a daughter, Karen Sampson of Norman, Okla.; a son, Kelvin Lowry of Pembroke; a brother, James F. Lowry of Pelzer, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the church.
Ms. Lillian P. Lovette

LUMBERTON -- Ms. Lillian Pait ‘‘Doris’’ Lovette, 71, of 4271 Lovette Road died Monday in her home.
Mrs. Lovette was a homemaker. She was a member of Godwin Heights Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Godwin Heights Baptist Church by Dr. Lynn Bullock. Entombment will be in Gardens of Faith Mausoleum.
Ms. Lovette is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. Bridgers of Fairmont; a son, Wilbur C. Lovette of Lumberton; three sisters, Emma White of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Lois Berly of Raleigh and Lorena Noble of Boca Raton, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home.

ROSEBORO -- Roy B. Lee, 63, of 675 E. Pinewood St. died Sunday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Roseboro First Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Templin. Burial will be in Ready Prong Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Butler Funeral Home.
Mr. Lee is survived by two sisters, Juanita Royal of Clinton and Helen Smith of Roseboro; and two brothers, John W. Lee and Cleamon Lee Jr., both of Fayetteville.
Ms. L. Carol Lane

CLINTON -- Ms. Linda Carol Lane, 55, of 2002 Boykin Bridge Road died Sunday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Lane was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. She was the office manager at Precision Tool & Stamping Co.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles R. Jernigan. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Ms. Lane is survived by two sons, Ronnie E. Lane and Scott Lane, both of Clinton; a sister, Ella D. Bordeaux of Galax, Va.; and three grandchildren.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Ms. Margaret B. Kaufman, 78, of 5724 Satchelford Road died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trenholm Road United Methodist Church by the Rev. Don Britt. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Dunbar Funeral Home.
Among Ms. Kaufman’s survivors is a brother, Alfred Brafford of Hope Mills, N.C.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Betty J. Jenkins; three sons, Wayne Vann of Hempstead, N.Y., and James H. Jenkins and Joseph J. Jenkins, both of Mount Clemens, Mich.; a daughter, Pearlie M. Harris of Mount Clemens; three stepdaughters, Judy Locke of Detroit, and Patrina Jackson and Lessie Jackson, both of Chadbourn; a stepson, William E. Jackson of Chadbourn; a brother, Levi Jenkins of Danville, Va.; and two sisters, Jennie M. Vann of Chadbourn and Katie Hamilton of Cerro Gordo.

Volna Ramone ‘‘Ray’’ Gales, 34, of 2129 Woodbine Ave., Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Parks Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by elder W. T. Ford Sr. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Gales is survived by his wife, Dorlisa A. Gales of the home; a son, Volna R. Gales Jr. of Fayetteville; his mother, Gladys Gales of Fayetteville; his father, Sol Gales of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four sisters, Andrea T. Washington of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Debra Duncan of Fayetteville, Anita Gales of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Iris T. Gales of Fayetteville; and a brother, Larry Gales of Charlotte.

James R. Evers Sr.

EAGLE SPRINGS -- James Richard Evers Sr., 58, of 147 Evers Road died Sunday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mr. Evers was a vocational teacher at North Moore High School in Robbins.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church in Robbins by the Rev. Ernest Ferrell. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Douglass is survived by his wife; a son, Billy Douglass of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Darlene Lugo and Veronica McNeil, both of Fayetteville; a sister; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

WINNABOW -- Mrs. Ruby Faye Norman Cline, 86, of Winnabow, formerly of Roseboro, died Thursday in Brunswick Cove Nursing Center.
Mrs. Cline was a member of Roseboro United Methodist Church.
The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Roseboro United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Blankenhorn. Burial was in St. Stephens Lutheran Church cemetery in Gold Hill. Arrangements were handled by Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home of Wilmington and Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro.
Mrs. Cline is survived by two daughters, Norma W. Fleming of Bolivia and Janet C. Murray of Wilmington; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.

Bullard of Aberdeen and Danny M. Bullard of Vass; two brothers, Clarence Lowery of Fayetteville and the Rev. Thedford Henderson of Raeford; three sisters, Catherine Johnson of Fayetteville, JoAnn Lowery of Eagle Springs and Rosie Tyler of Spring Lake; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
