CAMERON -- Mrs. Lula Wicker Cameron, 88, of 318 N.C. 24 died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

The funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday in Cameron Hill Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cameron is survived by a son, Walter A. Cameron, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Gladys Cameron of Erwin; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Mamie C. Caddell

WEST END -- Mrs. Mamie Collins Caddell, 92, of West End died Friday in Pinelake Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage.

Mrs. Caddell is survived by three daughters, Ruth Speer of West End, Arlethia Flowers of Florence, S.C., and Carol Edwards of High Point.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 at Fry & Pickett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Betty W. Buskirk

DUNN -- Mrs. Betty Ann Compton W. Buskirk, 51, of 1307 W. Blackmon Road died Thursday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. today in Price Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Buskirk is survived by her husband, Harold Buskirk Jr. of Dunn; two sons, Harold Buskirk III of Dunn and Wayne Compton of Dunn; two daughters, Candy Heater of Florida and Tammy Dilts of Erwin; and 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Florine Bryant

Mrs. Florine Bryant, 93, of 3186 Blossom Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Wilton Barber

LUMBERTON -- Wilton Barber, 50, of 319 Mohr Plaza died Wednesday in his home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Bear Swamp Baptist Church cemetery in Lakeview, S.C. by the Rev. James Dodson. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Mr. Barber is survived by six brothers, D.C. Barber Jr. of Orrum, Smith Barber of Wilmington, Bruce Barber of Clinton, S.C., Bobby Barber of Lumberton, LeRoy Barber of York, S.C., and William ‘‘ Pee Wee’’ Barber of Greensboro; and a sister, Nell Lee of Holden Beach.

Daniel Avila

SANFORD -- Daniel Avila, 4, of 3106 Kendale Drive, died Thursday.

The funeral will be conducted at noon today in Iglesia De Cristo Fuente De Vida by Francisco Valenzuela. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Watson Mortuary.

Daniel is survived by his parents, Quintin and Lucia Avila of Sanford; two brothers, Juan Avila and Emanuel Avila, both of Sanford; and two sisters, Viviana Avila and Cristina Avila, both of Sanford.

Joseph McMillan

MARSTON -- Joseph McMillan, 32, of 27241 Hoffman Road died Thursday in Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in Silver Hill Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Wilbert Monroe. Burial with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. McMillan is survived by four children, Joseph, Brad, Dave’Yon and Whitney; his mother, Helen McMillan of the home; four sisters, Joyce McMillan of Marston and Pauline McMillan, Carla McMillan and Heather McMillan, all of the home; and four brothers, Ivory McMillan of Fort Hood, Texas, Roger McMillan of Charleston, S.C., Gregory McMillan of the home and Joe McMillan of Laurel Hill.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Mrs. Sylvia Kirkpatrick

CLARKTON -- Mrs. Sylvia Kirkpatrick, 67, of 1377 U.S. 211 West died Monday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Arrangements will be announced by Cromartie & Cunningham Mortuary.

Ms. Vashti P. Humphrey

LUMBERTON -- Ms. Vashti Powers Humphrey, 86, of 306 E. 16th St. died Monday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Floyd Memorial chapel by the Rev. Frank Neil. Burial will be in Humphrey Cemetery.

Ms. Humphrey is survived by two sisters, Annie P. Wellington of Lumberton and Dorothy P. Shaver of Moultrie, Ga.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory and at other times at the home of Mildred Powers, 804 B.T. Road, Lumberton, N.C. 28358.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Earl Knight Jr.

TRINITY -- Earl Knight Jr., 41, of 5528 Menden Hall Road, formerly of Robeson County, died Monday in Randolph County Hospital.

Mr. Knight is survived by a brother, Gerald Knight of St. Pauls; three half brothers, Derrick Allan, Erick Allan and Daryl Allan, all of Lumberton; and four sisters, Clara J. Butler, Glenda Wilcox and Berethea Wilcox, all of St. Pauls, and Janice Jacobs of Archdale.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

James Robinson

CLINTON -- James Robinson, 79, of 950 Isaac Road died Sunday in his home.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Mary Robinson of the home; a daughter, Teresa Smith of Latham, N.Y.; two sons, James ‘‘Larry’’ Robinson of Athens, N.Y., and Billy Peterson of Baltimore; a sister, Alean Peterson of Hudson, N.Y.; and a brother, John D. Robinson of Delway.

Allen Johnson

AUTRYVILLE -- Allen Johnson, 69, of Route 3 died Saturday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Christian Light Baptist Church by the Rev. Hosea Murray. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Elouise Brown of Fayetteville; a son, James E. Johnson of Holland, Germany; four stepsons, Wesley Johnson, Terry Johnson and Alvin Johnson, all of Fayetteville, and Calvin Johnson of California; his mother, Annie N. Johnson of Autryville; four sisters, Beretha Bobbitt and Elvina Jones, both of Fayetteville, Therrie Johnson of Autryville and Seanie DeChamp of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a brother, Furn Johnson of Autryville.

The public will be received today from 2 to 7 p.m. at Butler & Son Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mrs. Sarah N. Gorter

HARRISBURG -- Mrs. Sarah Norris Gorter, 63, of 4886 Bentridge Drive, formerly of Robeson County, died Tuesday in N.C. Cancer Institute in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Charles Kinlaw. Entombment will be in Gardens of Faith Mausoleum in Lumberton.

Mrs. Gorter is survived by her husband, Herman Gorter of Chino, Calif.; two sons, Stephen W. Gorter of Virginia and William J. Gorter of Lumberton; two daughters, Charlotte G. Cain of Harrisburg and Caroline M. Gorter of Lumberton; a brother, Tony M. Norris of Lumberton; two sisters, Linda C. Norris and Belita A. McCormick, both of Lumberton; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Mildred B. Bullock

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Mildred Bridgeman Bullock, 69, of 1301 Moores Lane died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Bullock was a homemaker. She was a member of East Lumberton Church of God.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Biggs Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Bernie Bailey. Entombment will be in Gardens of Faith Mausoleum.

Mrs. Bullock is survived by her husband, Carl R. Bullock of the home; two sons, Thomas Inman of Lumberton and Daniel L. Inman of Florida; four brothers, Oscar Bridgeman and Larry Bridgeman, both of Fayetteville, Johnny Bridgeman of Lumberton and Lloyd Bridgeman of Stedman; three sisters, Aileen Norton and Eddie J. Romine, both of Lumberton, and Evelyn Young of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lillie S. Usher

GASTONIA -- Mrs. Lillie Susan Usher, 81, of Gastonia, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday in Gaston Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville by the Rev. Randy White. Burial will be in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 4 in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Usher is survived by three daughters, Martha Jones of Carson City, Nev., Carolyn Usher of Gastonia and Marilyn Usher of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Raymond Usher and Bob Usher, both of Gastonia; three sisters, Ruth Jones of Fayetteville, Jean Andrews of Stedman and Esther Clark of Lake Hartwell, Ga.; a brother, Paul Clark of Garland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Erma L. McWhorter

Mrs. McWhorter is survived by three sons, Derrick McWhorter of the home and Robert A. McWhorter and Leon McWhorter, both of Clinton; eight sisters, Hazel Butler, Elouise Melvin and Doris Butler, all of Clinton, Nettie Adams of Dunn, Ruby Carraway of Kinston, Geraldine Lloyd of Hudson, N.Y., Bernice Goodman of Charlotte and Eva Best of LaGrange; three brothers, Lonnie Parker, Robert E. Butler and Herman Butler, all of Clinton; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The public will be received today from noon to 6 p.m. at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Ms. Vera M. Hubert

Ms. Vera Mae Hubert, 74, of Route 49, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Highland House of Fayetteville.

A memorial service will be held at noon today in LaFayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.

Ms. Hubert is survived by a son, Bruce E. Hubert of Faytteville; a brother, Clifford Anderson of Louisiana; four sisters, Ethel Lehmann and Betty Johnson, both of Norfolk, Neb., Edna Palmer of Encinitas, Calif., and Marian Bockelman of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
