Mrs. Rena M. Boykin, 54, of 229 Alma St., Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Tucker and Sons Funeral Home.

James A. Bolton Sr.

(Dated May 9, 1999)
HOPE MILLS -- James A. Bolton Sr., 78, of 3026 Elk Park Drive died Saturday in Hart Pine Knolls Rest Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Cumberland Cemetery.

Mr. Bolton is survived by two sons, James A. Bolton of Hope Mills and Wilbert Allen of Fayetteville; three daughters, Patricia Paul of Arabia, Lejun Cain of Fayetteville and Ella Arreguin of Hope Mills; a brother, Paul Bolton of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory and at other times at the home of Ella Arreguin, 3252 Master’s Drive, Hope Mills.

William J. Blacklock

FAIRMONT -- William Jefferson Blacklock, infant son of Dedoria Jefferson and Donald R. Blacklock, of 426 C. Atkinson Road died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Arrangements will be announced by McKoy & Sons Mortuary of St. Pauls.

Mrs. Maria P. Babiak

Mrs. Maria P. Babiak, 73, of 717 Fairview, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by Father Jack Morrison.

Mrs. Babiak is survived by her husband, Johann Babiak of the home; a son, Karl Babiak of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Franceska Heimerl, Frieda Piller and Thersa Binder, all of Germany, and Elizabeth Blaknay of Fayetteville; a brother, Wilhelm Piller of Germany; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

A rosary will be recited tonight from 7 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7:30 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phyllis M. Johnson (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

Mrs. Phyllis Marks Johnson, 69, of 1385 Chilton Drive, Fayetteville, died Thursday.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church by Father Joe Yaeger. Entombment will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, George Johnson of Fayetteville; five sons, Tommy Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Zarko Johnson and Ray Johnson, all of Fayetteville, and Robert Johnson of Wilmington; a daughter, Mary A. Johnson of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Robert Marks of Savannah, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends today at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anne P. Boughter (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

Mrs. Anne P. Boughter, 65, of 203 Pinecrest Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mrs. Boughter was a member of Faith Temple.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg by the Rev. Richard Pia.

Mrs. Boughter is survived by two daughters, Mary Boughter of Goldsboro and Joan B. Thompson of Fayetteville; two sons, Gene Barsamia of Hollywood, Calif., and Edwin J. Brocaille of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Darlene Myers of Irmo, S.C.; and three grandsons.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Animal Haven, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, N.C.; or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Cumberland County, 3232 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, N.C. 28303.

Mrs. Elease I. Bullock (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

FAIRMONT -- Mrs. Elease Inman Bullock, 73, of 65 Mill Branch Road died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Mrs. Bullock was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Inman family cemetery by the Rev. Mark E. Gaskins and Dr. Thomas L. Rich. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Funeral Services.

Mrs. Bullock is survived by three sons, Joe Bullock, Cale Bullock and Lloyd Bullock, all of Fairmont; three daughters, Rosie L. Musselwhite of Lumberton, Linda Baker of Sanford and Mary Butler of Fayetteville; five brothers, Bennett Inman, Alex Inman, Clifton Inman and David Inman, all of Fairmont, and Robert Inman of Laurinburg; two sisters, Catherine Rogers of Laurinburg and Christine Griffin of St. Pauls; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Allene H. Manship (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Allene Hester Manship, 81, of 5681 Oak Grove School Road died Saturday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Faith Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jim Bumgardner. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.

Mrs. Manship is survived by a son, Jimmy Manship of Laurinburg; two daughters, Margaret Manship and Doris M. Smart, both of Laurinburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McDougald Funeral Home & Crematorium.

Robert K. Tyndall (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

Robert K. Tyndall, 59, of Fayetteville died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Tyndall was an Army veteran. He was a nurse for Elder Lodge Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens by Father Kita.

Mr. Tyndall is survived by his wife, Dorethea Tyndall of the home; two sons, Mike Tyndall of Germany and Peter Tyndall of Autryville; two daughters, Rebecca T. Long of Tennessee and Ursual Tyndall of the home; a brother, Walter Tyndall of Indiana; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at LaFayette Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anna M. Hendrix (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

RAEFORD -- Mrs. Anna Mae Hendrix, 81, of 192 Golf Course Road died Saturday in her home.

Mrs. Hendrix was a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church. She was one of the founders and owners of Arabia Golf Club.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church by the Revs. Donald Shields and John C. Ropp. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hendrix is survived by her husband, S. Brown Hendrix Sr. of Raeford; two sons, S. Brown Hendrix Jr. and David A. Hendrix Sr., both of Raeford; three daughters, Patsy J. Gaudet of Charlotte and Kathy Keisler and Martha A. Beal, both of Raeford; a brother, James E. Webb of Raeford; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Crumpler Funeral Home.

Ms. Ruby L. King (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

RED SPRINGS -- Ms. Ruby Lois King, 45, of 321 Branch Road died Wednesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Buie Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Billy Billinger. Burial will be in Baysville Cemetery in Laurel Hill.

Ms. King is survived by a brother, Moses King of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and five sisters, Joan Washington, Mary King and Annie King, all of Brooklyn, and Bertha King and Margaret McNeill, both of Raeford.

The public will be received today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Burlon W. McDuffie (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

SANFORD -- Burlon Wilson ‘‘Mac’’ McDuffie, 64, of 158 Pickett Road died Saturday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Norris Chapel United Methodist Church by the Revs. Douglas Currin and George Walton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. McDuffie is survived by his wife, Nancy H. McDuffie of Sanford.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Robert E. Garrels (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Retired Navy Capt. Robert Ernest Garrels, 90, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Southern Pines, N.C., died Friday in Heart Fields Assisted Living.

A private service will be held in Christ Episcopal Church followed by a burial at sea. Arrangements are being handled by Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service.

Ms. Lue Ellen Chambers (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

VASS -- Ms. Lue Ellen Chambers of Vass died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Ronda Cemetery in Ronda.

Ms. Chambers is survived by a son, Benny Chambers of Greensboro; two daughters, Shirley Chambers of Vass and Linda Girard of Danielson, Conn.; three brothers, Alfred Lawson, Buck Lawson and Colton Lawson, all of Virginia; two sisters, Dorothy Allison of Virginia and Hazel VanHugh of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Rance Tate (Dated Sunday, July 25, 1999)

RAEFORD -- Rance Tate, 37, of 208 Southern Oak Drive died Friday.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the home. Arrangements are being handled by Buie Funeral Home.

Mr. Tate is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Tate of the home; two sons, Charles Tate and Andrew Tate, both of the home; a daughter, Holly Tate of the home; his parents, Nancy and Denver Tate of Porterville, Calif.; and a brother, Russell Tate of Tyler, Texas.

The family will receive friends at the home.
