AUTRYVILLE -- Mrs. Ada Maxine Sessoms Ford, 56, of 578 Mount Carmel Church Road died Thursday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Butler Funeral Home by the Revs. Jeff Barlett and Jimmy Swinson. Burial will be in the Sessoms family cemetery.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband, Daniel W. Ford of the home; and two brothers, Furman L. Sessoms and Randall L. Sessoms, both of Roseboro.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Arthur Davis (Dated Friday, July 30, 1999)
Bishop Arthur Davis, 84, of 113 Jasper St., Fayetteville, died Sunday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Mr. Davis founded Davis Chapel Church in Spring Lake and pastored there for more than 35 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Parks Chapel Freewill Baptist Church by Bishop Ralph Love. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park.
Mr. Davis is survived by a son, Arthur Davis Jr. of Greensboro; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Wiseman Mortuary.
J.C. Clark (Dated Friday, July 30, 1999)
ST. PAULS -- J.C. Clark, 87, of 3151 N.C. 20 East died Wednesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
Mr. Clark was a retired farmer.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Tolarsville Baptist Church by the Rev. William Beasley. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Clark is survived by three daughters, Linda C. McCorkale of Columbia, S.C., Jeanette C. Rozier of Chapel Hill and Susan C. Williams of St. Pauls; two sons, John C. Clark Jr. of Oriental and Donald Clark of Kernersville; three sisters, Mary M. Byrd of Greensboro, Elizabeth C. Thompson of Charlotte and Rachel N. Mercer of Red Springs; a brother, William Clark of New Bern; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McNeill Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Leroy Chambers Jr. (Dated Friday, July 30, 1999)
RED SPRINGS -- Leroy Chambers Jr., 49, of 405 E. Eighth Ave. died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. James AME Zion Church by the Rev. Tim McCoy. Burial will be in Community Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Beverly S. Chambers; a daughter, Alicia Smith; a son, Eric Chambers of Pembroke; a stepson, Demond Smith; his parents, Sallie and Leroy Chambers of Red Springs; two brothers, Robert J. Chambers of Maxton and John H. Chambers of Atlanta; and six sisters, Joyce Kelly and Mamie S. Williams, both of Fayetteville, Elzenia Blanks of Chicago, Belven Brown and Sallie McNair, both of Cameron, and Nora Carter of Charlotte.

Mr. Bryan is survived by his wife, Amanda C. Bryan of the home; a son, Justin Cain of the home; and a brother, Larry Criscoe of White Lake.

Mrs. Lillian Bilodeau Brunson, 72, of 1525 Gillespie St., Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Brunson was a member of Faith Community Church.

Mrs. Brunson is survived by two daughters, Ann B. McAllister of Fayetteville and Judy B. Edge of Hope Mills; two sons, Robert Brunson Jr. of Jacksonville and Tony Brunson of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by her husband, James McLaughlin of the home; four daughters, Mildred McDuffie of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Nancy McLaughlin, Vivian McLaughlin and Shirley McLaughlin, all of Lumberton; four sons, James McLaughlin of Roanoke, Va., Willie McLaughlin and Billy McLaughlin, both of Lumberton, and Charles McLaughlin of Mullins, S.C.; a sister, Katie Carmicheal of Whiteville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Ms. Naomi Gooden Tatum, 84, of Elizabethtown died Tuesday in Bladen County Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Elizabethtown Baptist Church by the Rev. David Elks. Burial will be in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Tatum is survived by a son, Hal K. Tatum of White Lake; a brother, Leon Gooden of Council; and a grandchild.

James W. ‘Jim’ Solomon
James W. ‘‘Jim’’ Solomon, 59, of 1747 St. Augustine Ave., Fayetteville, died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Solomon retired from the Army after 20 years. He was a paint contractor for Jim’s Painting Service before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel. Burial with military honors will be in LaFayette Memorial Park West.
Mr. Solomon is survived by his wife, Mavis R. Solomon of the home; a son, James E. Solomon of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a daughter, Michelle Lumley of Dyersburg; a stepson, Dennis M. Pope of Fayetteville; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Trent and Becky Pope, both of Fayetteville, and Ginger Phelps of Asheboro; a sister, Brenda Fenox of Polk City, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Solomon of Polk City and Johnny Solomon of Lakeland, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Smith worked for Campbell Soup Inc. before retiring.
