PEMBROKE -- Mrs. Reece Dial, 78, of 124 Stanley St. died Monday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Arrangements will be announced by Thompson’s Funeral Home.

STEDMAN -- Dr. William Eugene Cook, 96, of Stedman died Tuesday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Hermine S. Coltrane

Mrs. Hermine Santner ‘‘Minnie’’ Coltrane, 76, of Fayetteville died Saturday in Village Green Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sechrest Funeral Home chapel in Archdale by Deacon Joe Smith. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in High Point.

Mrs. Coltrane is survived by a son, Franz Santner of Grunau, Austria.

Marshall Cherry

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Marshall Cherry, 82, of Jersey City, formerly of Raeford, N.C., died Saturday in Cornell University in New York.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Raeford by Brother Jack Robinson. Burial will be in East Freedom Cemetery in Raeford.

Mr. Cherry is survived by his wife, Coretha Cherry of Jersey City; seven daughters, Dorothy Cherry, Rosa Cherry, Sarah Neal and Elizabeth McDonald, all of Jersey City, Tezenia Taylor and Joyce Daniels, both of Cherry Hill, and Barbara Thompson of Fayetteville, N.C.; seven sons, L.W. Cherry of Kentland, Md., Willie Cherry, Thurman Cherry and Frank Cherry, all of North Carolina, and Robert Cherry, Marshall Cherry Jr. and Carl Cherry, all of Jersey City; a brother, John H. Gay of Raeford; five sisters, Elizabeth Cole, Frances Grant and Maggie Gay, all of Fayetteville, and Vinnie McQueen and Christine McPhatter, both of Raeford; 37 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 3 to 8 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Raeford.

Mrs. Burline G. Carroll

BLADENBORO -- Mrs. Burline Godwin Carroll of Bladen Street, formerly of St. Pauls, died Tuesday in Hermitage Place Nursing Home.

Mrs. Carroll was a member of the Eastern Star, American Legion and First Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville by the Rev. Henry Foster.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by a nephew and a niece.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McNeill Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 302 S. Second St., St. Pauls, N.C.

Warren J. Butler

Warren Joseph Butler, 68, of 434 Southwick Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A.B. ‘Joe’ Burnett
DUNN -- A.B. ‘‘Joe’’ Burnett, 89, of Dunn died Tuesday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Burnett owned and operated A.B. Burnett Sales.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Steven King. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Burnett is survived by a son, John B. Burnett of Beaufort; a sister, Mattie C. Grant of Forsyth, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Skinner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 711 Old Fairground Road, Dunn, N.C. 28334.

STEDMAN -- Mrs. Catherine Harrelson Autry, 67, of Route 1 died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Butler Funeral Home by the Revs. Jeff Stewart, Gary Strickland and Elton Parker. Burial will be in Autry Cemetery.

Mrs. Autry is survived by her husband, Carl Autry of the home; two daughters, Glenda Stewart of Stedman and Daphine McLamb of Dunn; two sons, Benny Autry and Dennis Autry, both of Stedman; a brother, Jesse Harrelson of Mount Vernon, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ms. Katherine Williams

Ms. Katherine West Williams, 78, of Fayetteville died Tuesday in her home.

Ms. Williams owned the former Kay’s Restaurant on Bragg Boulevard. She was also instrumental in the development of Village Shopping Center in Hope Mills.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Revs. Glenn Holt, Kennith Jackson and Brent Recto. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.

Ms. Williams is survived by a daughter, Patricia Williams of Fayetteville; and a brother, Winiford West of Stedman.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lynda D. Spivey

Mrs. Lynda D. Spivey, 58, of 819-1 English Court, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens chapel by Pastor Oral Calloway. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Mrs. Spivey is survived by a son, Staff Sgt. Stephen W. Spivey of Fayetteville; two daughters, Lisa D. Backes and Holly K. Spivey, both of Shreveport, La.; and a grandson.

Mrs. Mary T. Smith

BENSON -- Mrs. Mary Threatt Smith, 78, of 7273 N.C. 50 South died Wednesday in her home.

Mrs. Smith was a nurse in the Army during World War II. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the American Legion.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Robert Capps. Burial will be in the Smith family cemetery.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Hettie S. Khan of the home; four sons, Oscar Smith of Benson, Thomas R. Smith of Erlanger, Ky., Clyde M. Smith of Saudi Arabia and Paul T. Smith of Halifax, Va.; four sisters, Bessie Hoffman of McBee, S.C., Gertrude Potts of Florence, S.C., Julia Lyman of Blythewood, S.C., and Sarah Haynes of Moreland, Ga.; a brother, Orval Threatt of Pageland, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Annie Coates Stewart Swann

SANFORD -- Mrs. Annie Coates Stewart Swann of Convalescent Home of Sanford died Sunday. She was 102.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by Dr. Ken Pritchard. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Swann is survived by a daughter, Myra G. Cole of Sebastopol, Calif.; a son, Daniel B. Stewart of Sanford; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 46 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ana R. Perez

Mrs. Ana Rosada Perez, 72, of 6817 Seaford Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday in her home.

A Mass will be celebrated tonight from 7 to 8 in H.M. Colvin Funeral Home chapel by Pastor Francisco Colon. Burial will be in Puerto Rico.

Mrs. Perez is survived by her husband, Ricardo Perez of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; a son, Danny Morales of Aguadilla; four daughters, Minerva Perez of Holyoke, Mass., Gladys Perez and Eva L. Vega, both of Fayetteville, and Alejandrina Perez of Spring Lake; a brother, Gregorio R. Roldan of Aguadilla; and 14 grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

CLINTON -- Ms. Dorothy Irene Evatt McLamb, 75, of 970 Old U.S. 701 died Tuesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Ms. McLamb was a member of Ingold Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Ingold Baptist Church by the Revs. Dean Wood and Wint Hale. Burial will be in Ingold Cemetery.

Ms. McLamb is survived by two daughters, Gloria M. Woodcock of Newport and Brenda E. McLamb of Ingold; and a sister, Mary E. Thompson of Valhalla.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
