ROBBINS -- Jamie Clifford Loy Jr., 83, of 241 N. Frye St. died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Loy was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an insurance agent before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Ferrell. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
Mr. Loy is survived by his wife, Hariette M. Loy of the home; a daughter, Amie L. Ryan of Wilmington; two sons, George M. Loy of Sugar Land, Texas, and Lynn M. Loy of Robbins; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Gyneth B. Stephens

SANFORD -- Ms. Gyneth Delores Brimberry Stephens, 84, of 3905 Clemmons Road died Sunday in Meadowbrook Manor of Clemmons.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Shallow Well United Church of Christ by the Revs. Donald R. Thompson and Sandra Jordan. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Ms. Stephens is survived by two daughters, Betty A. Davis of Warner Robins, Ga., and Carol A. Swain of Winston-Salem; a son, Lonnie D. Snodgrass of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorothy Evans Wesley, 78, of 810 Commerce St., Fayetteville, died Sunday in her home.
Mrs. Wesley worked at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center as a nurse before retiring.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Ann’s Catholic Church by Father Omoviekovwa Nakireru. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.
Mrs. Wesley is survived by three daughters, Carmelita Wesley and Doretha Johnson, both of Fayetteville, and Cynthia Davis of Winston-Salem; a sister, Flora Graham of Fayetteville; a brother, Norris Evans of Fayetteville; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
The public will be received Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.
The rosary will be recited Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the church.
A wake will be held Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the church.

FAIRMONT -- Ms. Cynthia Jean Townsend, 43, of 2061 Nevada St. died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary Holiness Church in Lumberton by Bishop John D. Wesley. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Ms. Townsend is survived by her parents, Leroy and Thelma Townsend of Lumberton; six sisters, Amanda Townsend of the home, Brenda McNeil of Dillon, S.C., Linda Freeman, Harriett Clemons, Thelma Huggins and Jacqueline Townsend, all of Lumberton; a brother, Leroy Townsend Jr. of Bayboro; and her maternal grandparents, Fred and Mamie Hopkins of Orrum.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Community Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Helen M. Smith; four daughters, Billie Smith and Rhonda Kelly, both of Sanford, Sherry Chatfield of Southern Pines and Michelle Dull of Vass; two sons, Ronnie Smith of Vass and Ricky Smith of Dunn; his mother, Agnes M. Smith of Carthage; three sisters, Catherine Scott of De Bary, Fla., Ruth Welch of Orange Park, Fla., and Nellie Hollingsworth of Fayetteville; three brothers, J.C. Smith of Milwaukee, Harry Smith of Blairsville, Ga., and Larry Smith of Vass; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Roffe is survived by his wife, Marjorie B. Roffe of Southern Pines; a brother, James C. Roffe of Aurora, Ohio; and a sister, Mary Lawler of Stillman Valley, Ill.

LUMBERTON -- Ms. Anna Pittman, 90, of 1170 Linkhaw Road died Sunday in Carrolton Nursing Center.
Ms. Pittman was a member of East Lumberton Church of God.
The funeral will be conducted at 7:30 tonight in East Lumberton Church of God by the Revs. Jim Blackwell and Bernie Bailey. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in New Hollywood Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Biggs Funeral Home.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by two sons, David L. Murphy and William T. Murphy, both of Buffalo; a daughter, Beatrice C. Murphy of Pensacola, Fla.; and a sister, Queen E. Patterson of Raeford, N.C.

Owens of Fayetteville and Verline Keyser of Baltimore; two brothers, Velton Jacobs and Jasper Jacobs, both of Bolton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
