SOUTHERN PINES -- David F. Walton, 79, of Southern Pines died Tuesday in his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Powell Funeral Home chapel by Father James Butler.
Mr. Walton is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walton of Southern Pines; a daughter, Judith W. Bellassa of Washington, D.C.; two sons, David R. Walton of Pleasantville, N.Y., and Robert F. Walton of Kisco, N.Y.; a sister, Lorraine Crowley of Newport News, Va.; a brother, Richard Walton of Baltimore; and three granddaughters.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Michael R. Stocker (Dated Wednesday, November 10, 1999 )
Michael Reeves Stocker, 2, of 107 Daniels Court, Fort Bragg, died Sunday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today in JFK Chapel on Fort Bragg by Chaplain Daniel S. Oh. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory of Fayetteville.
Michael is survived by his parents, Capt. Adrian and Karen Stocker; a brother, Andrew C. Stocker of the home; a sister, Megan E. Stocker of the home; his paternal grandmother, Marge Stocker of Marshall, Va.; his maternal grandparents, John and Margie Reeves of Las Vegas; and his maternal great-grandmothers, Catherine McCarthy of San Jacinto, Calif., and Elsie Reeves of Boulder City, N.V.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

DUNN -- E. Pannie Smith, 68, of Dunn died Monday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.
Mr. Smith was the owner and operator of Hospital Pharmacy. He was the associate pastor of Cumberland Street Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cumberland Street Baptist Church by the Revs. James DeLuca Jr. and Paul Morris. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Nell Smith of Dunn; two daughters, Deborah McStoots of Angier and Denise Pope of Dunn; two brothers, Roger Smith of Angier and Johnny Smith of Virginia; three sisters, Clara Dorman of Angier, Gerry Stephenson of Willow Spring and Myrtle Carpenter of Nashville; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home.

Mr. Melvin is survived by a brother, James V. McNeill of Fayetteville.

Elder Alice Glover will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday in Mount Zion Holiness Church. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife, Joan Lennon of the home; two daughters, Joette Glover of Lumberton and Kara McEachern of St. Pauls; four sons, Harry Glover of Red Springs, Micheal Glover and Craig Glover, both of St. Pauls, and Daryl Glover of the home; his mother, Lexie Lennon of St. Pauls; two sisters, Dorothy A. Lennon and Louise Bain, both of St. Pauls; and two brothers, Charles Lennon and Douglas Lennon, both of St. Pauls.

Mr. Lane is survived by his parents, Grady and Hazel C. Lane of Whiteville; two sisters, Bonnie F. Lowery and Kathleen L. McMillian, both of Whiteville; and three brothers, Thomas J. Lane and Grady L. Lane, both of Whiteville, and Raymond E. Lane of Latta, S.C.

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Ralph Robert Kurtz, 68, of 515 Glen Canyon Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Funeral Service & Crematory by the Revs. Ron Liggins and Doug Peterson. Burial with military honors will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Kurtz is survived by his wife, Luise E. Kurtz; a son, Donald R. Kurtz of Fayetteville; his mother, Doris L. Kurtz of Olathe, Kan.; and three sisters, Patricia Martin of Olathe, Carolyn McCorkendale of Shawnee, Kan., and Karen Kite of Hiran, Tenn.

Rowell, both of Tabor City; her parents, Elease Devoe and Calvin Hemingway; two sisters, Almaria F. Stephens and Priscilla Hemingway; two brothers, Danny Hemingway and Willie S. Bellamy; and a grandson.
