The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Worthington Funeral Home by Dr. Ray Lunday. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff.
Mr. Hilbourn is survived by a son, James ‘‘Junior’’ Hilbourn of Evergreen; a daughter, Karen H. King of Evergreen; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jacquelyn Gurley, 48, of Fayetteville died Monday in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J.
The family will receive friends at the home of Nathan Sellers, 507 N. Platt Road.

John Thomas Garner Jr., 65, of 2277 McGill Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Veterans Affairs Hospital in Salisbury.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Al Brice. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Garner is survived by three sisters, Ada G. Bowen and Frances Johnson, both of Fayetteville, and Gertrude Averitte of Hope Mills; and a brother, John D. Garner of Hope Mills.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Ella H. Evans (Dated Wednesday, October 27, 1999)
Mrs. Ella Ree Hardin Evans, 64, of 6513 Senator Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Evans was a member of Grace Community Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Biggs Funeral Home chapel in Lumberton by the Revs. Sylvia Keller, Tim Strickland and Romey Revels. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens in Lumberton.
Mrs. Evans is survived by a son, Jeffery G. Evans of Hope Mills; three daughters, Sharon C. Evans of Baltimore, Valerie E. Stutzman of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Jacqueline E. Jernigan of Fayetteville; a brother, Lawrence Hardin of Lumberton; five sisters, Lorene Locklear of Pembroke, Earlene Bell, Annie N. Hammonds and Gladys Fagan, all of Lumberton, and Beatrice Glenn of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and after the funeral at the home of Margie Brown, 226 S. College St., Red Springs.

Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Ethel C. Cooper of the home; a daughter, Linda C. Suggs of Wilson; five sons, Roland Cooper of Margate, Fla., Lee Cooper of Brooklyn, N.Y., Glenwood Cooper of Clinton, Douglas Cooper of Fayetteville and Dale Cooper of Garland; two sisters, Maggie Johnson of Brooklyn and Jannie Peterson of Rose Hill; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her husband, the Rev. Bennie F. Carroll of Dunn; three daughters, Virginia Newton of Rosella, N.J., and T. Cookie Carroll and Verlaine Wint, both of Newark, N.J.; and three sons, Frank Carroll, Oliver Carroll and Rinthian Carroll, all of Newark.
Woodrow Campbell (Dated Wednesday, October 27, 1999)
ROWLAND -- Woodrow Campbell, 82, of 1555 Willis Ave. died Sunday in Beverly Health Care in Lumberton.
Mr. Campbell was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Floyd Funeral Services chapel in Fairmont by the Revs. Johnie Chavis and Melvin Bell. Burial will be in Benson Chapel Church cemetery.
Mr. Campbell is survived by several nieces and nephews.

PARKTON -- Willie Bryant, 77, of Parkton died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
Mr. Bryant was a farmer before retiring.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Mount Hebrew Church cemetery by the Rev. Webster Curry. Arrangements are being handled by McNeill Funeral Home.

SPRING LAKE -- Retired Army Staff Sgt. Ralph W. Bonner Sr., 79, of 1253 Yancey St. died Saturday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Butner Road Chapel on Fort Bragg.
Mr. Bonner is survived by his wife, Mae B. Bonner of Spring Lake; and a son, Ralph W. Bonner Jr. of Fayetteville.

BALTIMORE -- Mrs. Ethel Blyther Watkins of Baltimore, formerly of Hoffman, N.C., died Saturday in Franklin Square Hospital.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by two sons, Lonnie Blyther and Milton Blyther, both of Baltimore; six daughters, Zelda, Valerie, Virginia, Sonia, Leonia and Linda, all of Baltimore, and Yvonne Gines of Chesterfield, Va.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by a daughter, Kattie B. Bullard of Amityville, N.Y.; four foster children, John W. McCollum of St. Pauls, Sherry Boney of Orrum, Barbara Williams of Lumberton and Mary Swan of Fairmont; a sister, Geraldine Barfield of Lumberton; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Irene ‘‘Vonne’’ Sims of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Valerie Sims-Hall of Greenville; three sons, Chester Epps Sims and Randy Sims, both of Spartanburg, S.C., and David McCullough of Greenville; three sisters, Bessie M. Belcher of Greenville, Barbara L. Jones of Southern Pines and Betty Criswell of Aberdeen; two brothers, Frank Sims and Sammie L. Sims, both of Greenville; and nine grandchildren.
