CLARKTON -- Ms. Rena Lee Butler Bullard, 94, of Clarkton died Wednesday in Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Wilmington.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Clarkton Cemetery by the Rev. Willie Allen. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis Funeral Home.

Ms. Bullard is survived by two sons, E.A. Bullard and J.D. Bullard, both of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Clarkton United Methodist Church, Clarkton, N.C. 28433.

Mrs. Marguerite Blue (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

WAGRAM -- Mrs. Marguerite Blue, 72, of 17721 Arch McLean Road died Wednesday in her home.

Arrangements will be announced by Morris Funeral Home.

Wayland C. Blackmon Jr. (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

WADE -- Wayland Carr ‘‘W.C.’’ Blackmon Jr., 41, of 3128 Poverty Flats Road died Sunday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Ray Wittman. Burial will be in Stedman Church of God of Prophecy cemetery.

Mr. Blackmon is survived by his mother and stepfather, Erma B. and Clayton Harris of Fayetteville; a brother, John R. Blackmon of Greensboro; a sister, Denise Leasure of Fayetteville; and three stepsisters, Kay Simmons and Mary Davis, both of Hope Mills, and Linda Mason of McLeansville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Deward A. ‘D.A.’ Barnes (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

Deward Atwood ‘‘D.A.’’ Barnes, 79, of Fayetteville died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Barnes was an Army veteran of World War II and received the EAME Theater Ribbon with seven Bronze Stars and the American Defense Service Medal. He was a manager at The Driving Range for 10 years.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Highland Funeral Service & Crematory by the Rev. Mickey Barnes. A private burial will be held.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Mary B. Barnes; three sons, Don Barnes of Matthews, the Rev. Mickey Barnes of Chester, S.C., and Steve Barnes of Waxhaw; two brothers, Warren Barnes of Tyler, Texas, and Paul Barnes of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 136-A Bow St., Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.

Ernest M. Barefoot Sr. (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

ERWIN -- Ernest M. Barefoot Sr., 82, of 300 N. 12th St. died Tuesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Price Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Jerome Pope and Wesley Hamilton. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park.

Mr. Barefoot is survived by his wife, Cathleen M. Barefoot of the home; two sons, Rex A. Barefoot Sr. of Linden and E.M. Barefoot Jr. of Erwin; two brothers, Garland Barefoot and Eldridge Barefoot, both of Spring Lake; three sisters, Elizabeth Harrell of Spring Lake and Lenora Sharpe and Genava Massingill, both of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mossette B. Autry (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

CLINTON -- Mossette Benton ‘‘Benny’’ Autry, 59, of 205 Martha Lane, Apartment 5, died Tuesday in his home.

Mr. Autry worked for Sampson Independent for 27 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Royal-Hall Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Tony Moore. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Autry is survived by a daughter, Cindy A. Herring of Roseboro; a foster son, George V. Bradshaw of Wilson; his mother, Irene B. Autry of Clinton; two sisters, Patricia A. Thornton of Clinton and Jean A. Smith of Salt Lake City; two grandchildren; and three foster grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Marion A. Allen (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Marion Aries Allen, 81, of 505 W. 20th St. died Wednesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis De Sales Church by the Rev. Robert Yankevitch. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Charles Allen of the home; three daughters, Cynthia Boudreau of Forest Lake, Minn., Judith Allen of the home and Deborah Rice of Spotsylvania, Va.; a sister, Marie Littlefield of Chelmsford, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

The rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis De Sales Church building fund, 2000 Elizabethtown Road, Lumberton, N.C.

James R. Alexander (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

WHISPERING PINES -- James R. Alexander, 85, of 61 Pine Ridge Drive died Friday in Pinelake Nursing Center.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Village Chapel in Pinehurst by Chaplain Edward Galloway. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home & Crematory of Southern Pines.

Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Kathryn Alexander of Whispering Pines; a daughter, Ann Poist of Washington, D.C.; a brother, William Alexander of Parma Heights, Ohio; and three grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Moore County, 5355 N.C. 22, Carthage, N.C. 28327; or to the Prancing Horse Center for Therapeutic Horseback Riding, 448 Horse’N Carriage Lane, Cameron, N.C. 28326.

King Abram Jr. (Dated Thursday, July 22, 1999)

RALEIGH -- King Abram Jr., 55, of Raleigh, formerly of Red Springs, died Sunday.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in First Missionary Baptist Church in Red Springs by the Rev. Robeson. Burial will be in Community Rest Cemetery in Red Springs. Arrangements are being handled by L.E. Floyd Funeral Home.

Mr. Abram is survived by his mother, Queen E. Abram of Red Springs; three sisters, Dorothy Moore of Lillington, Margaret Abram of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Betty A. Rogers of Red Springs; and a brother, John Abram of Raleigh.

Victor Bostick (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Victor Bostick, 74, of Washington, formerly of Gibson, N.C., died Thursday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Matthew Chapel AME Zion Church in Laurinburg, N.C., by the Rev. Anthony Ford. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Morris Funeral Home.

Mr. Bostick is survived by four daughters, Deloris Beynum, Mattie Lightfoot, Jessie Manuel and Virginia Miller, all of Washington; two sons, Jimmie L. Bostick and Alphonso Bostick, both of Washington; a brother, Horace Bostick of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Maggie Terry and Mattie Everett, both of Gibson; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Ella M. Clark, 428 Alpha St., Laurinburg.

Albert C. Snipes (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

ROCKINGHAM -- Albert C. Snipes, 77, of Rockingham died Monday in Hamlet Hospital in Hamlet.

Mr. Snipes was a Navy veteran of World War II.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boles Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines by the Rev. Max Gilmore. Burial will be in Pleasant Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Fairmont.

Mr. Snipes is survived by three sons, Wilbur K. Snipes of Hamlet, William B. Snipes of Kansas City, Mo., and Martin Snipes of Greensboro; four daughters, Nelda G. Wallace of Florida, Patricia Spivey of Sanford, Ann Sturdivant of Aberdeen and Tilly Lineberry of Carthage; three brothers, Alford Snipes and Earl Snipes, both of Fairmont, and P.S. Snipes of North Wilksboro; two sisters, Sue N. Lupo of Raeford and Mary C. Hayes of Rocky Mount; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ms. Bessie Gregory (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

FAISON -- Ms. Bessie Gregory, 89, of 307 Center St. died Monday in Countryside Villa Nursing Home.

Ms. Gregory was a member of Millers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Dot Hobbs. Burial will be in Faison Cemetery.

Ms. Gregory is survived by four daughters, Annelle G. Viar of Richmond, Va., Cecelia G. Daily of Stafford, Va., Amelia G. Godwin of Benson and Mary G. Stroupe of Florida; a brother, Jim H. Hobbs of Fayetteville; a sister, Sudie H. Jordan of Faison; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Miami, Fla. 33136.

Ms. Marilyn Lowery (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

RED SPRINGS -- Ms. Marilyn Lowery, 42, of 1006 Milk Dairy Road died Saturday in Forsyth Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Hoke County Church of God by the Revs. Stelford Smith and Kenny Locklear. Burial will be in Oxendine Cemetery in Pembroke. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home.

Ms. Lowery is survived by four sons, Nick Lowery and Roosevelt Lowery, both of Shannon, Anthony Lowery of Maxton and Chris R. Lowery of Red Springs; a daughter, Marcella G. Lowery of Winston-Salem; her mother, Hazel O. Lowery of Red Springs; two brothers, Allen Lowery and Mitchell Lowery, both of Red Springs; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mitchell Lowery, 275 Eastman Drive, Red Springs.

John Willcox Jr. (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. John Willcox Jr., 72, of Washington, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Monday in the Army & Air Force Retirement Home.

Mr. Willcox was a veteran of World War II.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in LaFayette Memorial Park West in Fayetteville by Maj. Archie E. Barringer. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers and Breece Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

Mr. Willcox is survived by four sisters, Catherine Hume of St. Johns, Canada, Cameron Read of Ramona, Calif., Claire Torcassi of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Mary C. Kennedy of Warwick, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Baptist Church, 6041 Butler Nursery Road, Fayetteville, N.C. 28306.

Miss Precious A. Williams (Dated Wednesday, July 21, 1999)

SANFORD -- Miss Precious Angel Williams, infant daughter of Tamika McDougal and Derick Williams, of Sanford died Friday in Central Carolina Hospital.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cameron Grove AME Zion Church cemetery in Broadway by the Rev. Melvin Bynum. Arrangements are being handled by Watson Mortuary.

In addition to her parents, Precious is survived by a sister, LaDeizjah McDougal of Sanford; her maternal grandparents, Dorothy Davis and Vincent McLeod of Sanford; her paternal grandparents, James Wilkerson and Myra Williams of Sanford; and her maternal great-grandparents, Delano and Dorothy McDougal and Louise McLeod, all of Sanford.
