Ralph W. Coates (Dated Tuesday, October 5, 1999)
SANFORD -- Ralph Warren Coates, 75, of 26 Loblolly Court died Monday in Rex Health Care in Raleigh.
Mr. Coates was a Mason and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the past president of the American Society of Radiology Technologists.
A memorial service will be held in Boston.
Mr. Coates is survived by his wife, Eleanora G. Coates; two sons, Ralph W. Coates Jr. of Cohassett, Mass., and Robert Coates of Plymouth, Mass.; a daughter, Susan Spence of Norwell, Mass.; four brothers, Robert Coates of Epping, N.H., Maynard Coates of Virginia Beach, Va., Cecil Coates of Melbourne, Fla., and Ronald Coates of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; a sister, Mildred Lafko of West Newton, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Barbecue Presbyterian Church or to the American Heart Association.
David A. Williams
DURHAM -- David Alonzo Williams, 54, of 2217 Fitzgerald St. died Nov. 24.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Russell Memorial CME Church by Dr. Lloyd Waktins. Burial will be Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery in Bowling Green, Va. Arrangements are being handled by Fisher Funeral Parlor.
Among Mr. Williams’ survivors are a daughter, Shawmaine Barrett of Southern Pines; his mother, Florena L. Williams of Pinehurst; and two brothers, Wilford Williams and Theron Williams, both of Pinehurst.

Mable G. Turner
BUNNLEVEL -- Mrs. Mable G. Turner, 82, of Britthaven of Harnett died Tuesday.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Friendship Baptist Church by the Rev. Steve Gordon. Arrangements are being handled by O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home of Lillington.
Mrs. Turner is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Matthews of Bunnlevel and Mrs. Thomas Wilson of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Beatrice C. Rushman
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Beatrice Cook Rushman, 83, of 550 Bailey Road died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church by Father Robert Yankivitch.
Mrs. Rushman is survived by two sons, William N. Storms of Lumberton and William E. Rushman of California; and eight grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited tonight at 8 at the funeral home.

SANFORD -- Ms. Lucy Odell Meeks, 89, of 1112 Broadway Road died Monday in her home.

Ms. Meeks is survived by three daughters, Helen High, Catherine Stanley and Mary Dickerson, all of Sanford; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

PINEHURST -- Mrs. Phyllis ‘‘Weber’’ Obermann, 76, of Pinehurst died Sunday.
Mrs. Obermann was a retired real estate broker.
