Desiree J. Hyman

Miss Desiree Jasmin Hyman, infant daughter of Jack W. and Lisa Hyman Jr., of 6598 Fisher Road, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by the Rev. John Hedgepeth. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her parents, Desiree is survived by a brother, Keith Harrison of Massachusetts; her maternal grandparents, Howard and Rosa Johnson of Fayetteville; her paternal grandparents, Jack and Pat Hyman Sr. of Columbia, S.C.; and her paternal great-grandmothers, Dora J. Cutillo and Ruth Childress, both of Columbia.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.
Estelle S. Huggins

LEXINGTON -- Mrs. Estelle Sessoms Huggins, 89, of Lexington, formerly of Laurinburg, died Tuesday in N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Huggins was a bookkeeper for Belk Department Store.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Hillside Memorial Park by the Rev. Lawrence B. Coleman.
Mrs. Huggins is survived by two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
Bertha B. Holder

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Bertha B. Holder, 78, of Lillington died Wednesday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Barbecue Presbyterian Church by the Rev. David Sherrod. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Holder is survived by three daughters, Faye Morris of Lillington, Belinda Buchanan of Sanford and Pamela S. Stewart of Broadway; five sons, Earl Holder, Larry Holder, Gerald Holder and Dwayne Holder, all of Lillington, and Alfred Holder of Sanford; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Joseph G. Grimaldi

ERWIN -- Joseph G. Grimaldi, 81, of Erwin died Monday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Mr. Grimaldi was a Navy veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Stephen Episcopal Church of Erwin by Fathers Tom Taylor and Michael Langston. Entombment will be in Devotional Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Skinner Funeral Home.
Mr. Grimaldi is survived by a son, Gerald Grimaldi of LaPalma, Calif.; two daughters, Marie Bates and Carol Knowles, both of Erwin; a brother, Bob Grimaldi of Bronxville, N.Y.; a sister, Irene Caterinicchio of Bronx, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Veatus S. Goins

WHITEVILLE -- Mrs. Veatus Stephens Goins, 76, of Smyrna Road died Tuesday in Columbus County Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Smyrna Baptist Church by the Revs. Maurice Gilliam and Edwin Hedgepeth. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Goins is survived by her husband, A.G. Goins of the home; a son, Aaron M. Goins of Whiteville; a daughter, Joy R. Goins of Whiteville; three brothers, William T. Stephens of Fayetteville, Genair P. Stephens of Atlanta and Mitchell Stephens of Whiteville; and two sisters, Elois S. Bass of Whiteville and Merle S. Baxley of Charlotte.

Howard E. ‘Doc’ Garner

ROBBINS -- Howard England ‘‘Doc’’ Garner, 75, of 519 Needham Grove Road died Tuesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Mr. Garner worked for Burlington Industries before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Needham Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. James E. Cochram and Hayes Ritter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Stella H. Garner; two daughters, Lousie Allred of Aberdeen and Lois Brewer of High Falls; a son, Roger Garner of Seagrove; a brother, Graham Garner of Seagrove; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Mrs. DeAndrade is survived by her husband, Osvaldo M. ‘‘Ozzie’’ DeAndrade; a son, Richard Hebert of Fall River, Mass.; three daughters, Stacey Mailhot of Riverside, R.I., Allyson Hebert of Fall River and Paulette ‘‘Polly’’ Diaz of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren.

WILLARD -- Mrs. Mary Christine Wells Bland, 84, of 3071 Wilmington Highway died Tuesday in Wellington Nursing Center in Knightdale.
Mrs. Bland was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was a cafeteria assistant for Sampson County schools before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Centenary United Methodist Church in Harrells by the Rev. Jeanne Ray. Burial will be in Wells Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Royal-Hall Funeral Home of Clinton.
Mrs. Bland is survived by a daughter, Barbara B. Gower of Raleigh; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Mary Bland, 75, of 3016 Huntley St. died Friday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 tonight in H.M. Colvin Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Wilbert Blanden. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Baltimore.
Mrs. Bland is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Bland of Baltimore; a son, Kevan A. Gibbs of Baltimore; two daughters, Pearl V. Harrison of Baltimore and Karen Alexander of Spring Lake; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from noon to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
