Jessie L. Pembleton, 72, of 385 Snow Hill Road, Fayetteville, died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Christ Gospel Church by the Rev. Godbolt. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Pembleton is survived by his wife, Ethel Pembleton of the home; five daughters, Delois McElvine and Acquenetta Brady, both of Fayetteville, Eloise Shipman of Charlotte, Clara A. Carthan of Columbia, S.C., and Doreen Regan of Florence, S.C.; three sons, Milton McMillan, Henry Gaddy and Robert Gaddy, all of Fayetteville; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Tucker & Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Evans of the home; a son, Preston P. Evans Jr. of the home; three daughters, Paula A. Evans of Charlotte, Adrienne C. McPhatter of Lumber Bridge and Antoinette C. White of St. Louis; four brothers, George Evans of Hope Mills, Robert Evans and Larry Evans, both of Fayetteville, and Melba Evans of St. Pauls; two sisters, Dora E. McKoy of Hope Mills and Mary Jamison of Wilmington; and five grandchildren.
The public will be received Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Stanton was a member of Antioch Presbyterian Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Antioch Presbyterian Church cemetery in Hoke County by the Rev. John Hinkle. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler Funeral Home of Raeford.
Mrs. Stanton is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Stanton of Kure Beach; a son, John C. Stanton of Durham; a brother, John H. ‘‘Buck’’ McNeill Jr. of Red Springs; three sisters, Katherine M. Hinnant of Red Springs, Betty M. Carroway of Boonville and Patricia McNeill of Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
