PARKTON -- Mrs. Mary Leigh Parnell Watson, 82, of 182 Second St. died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Watson was a member of Parkton Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Parkton Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Grady and Dr. Charles Tucker. Burial will be in Parkton Cemetery.

Mrs. Watson is survived by four daughters, Brenda W. Abner of Santa Fe, Tenn., Barbara W. Mann of Durham, Susan W. Cain of Wrightsville Beach and Angela McLean of Parkton; four brothers, James Parnell of Virginia Beach, Va., Earl Parnell and David Parnell, both of Parkton, and Charles H. Melvin of Lumberton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Mary Leigh Watson Memorial Fund, Parkton Baptist Church, Parkton, N.C. 28371.

Angela M. Trogdon
(Dated Thursday, November 11, 1999)
ASHEBORO -- Mrs. Angela Moore Trogdon, 40, of 301 Armfield Ave., formerly of Moore County, died Tuesday in Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

Mrs. Trogdon was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church in Robbins.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Smyrna United Methodist Church in Robbins by the Revs. Joe Forbes and J.R. Tatum. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Kennedy Funeral Home of Robbins.

Mrs. Trogdon is survived by her husband, Rodney D. Trogdon of the home; and her parents, Jeanette and Coleman Moore of Seagrove.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jeanette and Coleman Moore, 20725 N.C. 705.

Memorials may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church building fund, 203 Smyrna Church Road, Robbins, N.C. 27325.

Helen B. Tillman
(Dated Thursday, November 11, 1999)
WADE -- Mrs. Helen Barefoot Tillman, 72, of 7101 Main St. died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Tillman was a member of Wade Baptist Church. She was a postal clerk in Erwin before retiring.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Wade Baptist Church by the Rev. Raymond Myrick. Burial will be in Old Bluff Church cemetery.

Mrs. Tillman is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Steinmetz of Wade; a sister, Madeline Daughtry of Wade; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn..

Rachael I. Monroe
(Dated Thursday, November 11, 1999)
LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Rachael Ingram Monroe, 85, of 658 Carl Drive died Sunday in Hamlet Hospital in Hamlet.

Elder Bennie Dudley will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John’s Holiness Church. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Monroe is survived by a daughter, Hattie McDonald of Laurinburg; two sisters, Anna J. Brown and Aggie M. McLean, both of Laurinburg; two grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 3 to 7 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home.

Marvin L. Smith

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Marvin LeVerne Smith, 24, of 26 Maplewood Lane died Sunday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Richardson Chapel Holiness Church in White Oak by Pastor Mable Yarboro. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Shaigeshia Thompson and Brianna Clark; a son, Tyleik Thompson; his parents, Rolland and Margaret Smith; two brothers, Tyrone Smith and Lamont Smith, both of Clarkton; and two sisters, Audrey Smith of Elizabethtown and Marlene Smith of Clarkton.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at F.W. Newton & Sons Mortuary.

Henry H. Smith

Henry H. Smith of 798 Magellan Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

Pearlie Simmons

Mrs. Pearlie Simmons, 83, of 2913 Belgian Ave., Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Jemima C. Robeson

LAURINBURG -- Ms. Jemima Charles ‘‘Charlie’’ Robeson, 83, of 16125 Pea Bridge Road died Tuesday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Beth Car Presbyterian Church in Tar Heel by the Revs. John Alexander and James Bumgardner. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. Robeson is survived by a son, James Robeson of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Emily L. Hubbard of Dillon, S.C., Sallie Ormsby of Rockingham and Eliza Webb of Laurinburg; a brother, Richard Charles of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Saint Pauls Funeral Home.

PEMBROKE -- Gerald Ransom, 59, of 763 Melinda Road died Tuesday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Anne Mae Sanders Powers, 85, of Integrated Health Services died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Powers was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hyde Park Baptist Church by the Revs. Dennis Harrell and Randy Hand. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

Mrs. Powers is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Phillips and Maxine Stone, both of Lumberton, and Donna K. Swanland of Fayetteville; a brother, Talbert Sanders of McRae, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home.

Crawford Oxendine

LUMBERTON -- Crawford Oxendine, 75, of 1047 Pleasant Hope Road died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Oxendine was a member of New Point Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in New Point Baptist Church by the Revs. Ronald Locklear and Sanford Locklear. Burial will be in Oxendine Cemetery.

Mr. Oxendine is survived by his wife, Ruby H. Oxendine of the home; three sons, James A. Hunt and Christopher Oxendine, both of Fairmont, and C.L. Oxendine of Lumberton; three daughters, Betty C. Hunt of New Jersey, Melissa Lowery of Fairmont and Tena Whitted of Lumberton; three sisters, Iula Hunt of Lumberton, Margie Hammonds of Pembroke and Susie Locklear of Raeford; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont and at other times at the home.

J. Guadalupe Martinez-Rosales

FAISON -- J. Guadalupe Martinez-Rosales, 34, of 1596 Junious Lucas Road died Saturday.

A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton by Father Ned Shlesinger. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico.

Mr. Martinez-Rosales is survived by two brothers, Lazaro Martinez of Atlanta and Saul Martinez of Arcadia, Fla.

Rosa A. Long

BOLTON -- Mrs. Rosa A. Long, 96, of Bolton died Tuesday in Mariner Health Care of Wilmington.

Bobby H. Lewis

LUMBERTON -- Bobby Harris Lewis, 56, of 218 Little Rod Road died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Lewis served 30 years in the National Guard. He worked for Acme Electric for more than 28 years. Mr. Lewis was a member of New Point Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in New Point Baptist Church by the Revs. Ronald Locklear and Crafton Chavis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Frances S. Lewis of the home; two daughters, Angelettia L. Didier of Lumberton and Bobbie R. Inman of Tar Heel; four brothers, Leroy Lewis of High Point, Gerald Lewis of St. Pauls and Robert Lewis and Willie Scott, both of Lumberton; a sister, Lillian Lewis of Lumberton; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont and at other times at the home.

William D. Leonard

ST. PAULS -- William Daniel Leonard, 55, of 1058 Britt Road died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

Elder Alice Glover will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. today in Mount Zion Holiness Church. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Arrangements are being handled by McKoy & Sons Mortuary.

Mr. Leonard is survived by his wife, Joan Leonard of the home; two daughters, Joette Glover of Lumberton and Kara McEachern of St. Pauls; four sons, Harry Glover of Red Springs, Micheal Glover and Craig Glover, both of St. Pauls, and Daryl Glover of the home; his mother, Lexie Leonard of St. Pauls; two sisters, Dorothy A. Leonard and Louise Bain, both of St. Pauls; and two brothers, Charles Leonard and Douglas Leonard, both of St. Pauls.
