PARKTON -- Mrs. Mary Shifflett Walton, 66, of 2887 Lake Upchurch Drive died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Bobby Locklear. Burial will be in Mill Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Roseboro.

Mrs. Walton is survived by her husband, James H. Walton of the home; three daughters, Tammy Thomas of Fayetteville, Brenda Walton of Roseboro and Helen Lane of Gray’s Creek; four sons, David Hess of Eastover, Bobby J. Walton of Parkton, Danny Shifflett of Oak Hill, W. Va., and Richard Walton of Roseboro; three sisters, Catherine Coleman and Vada Ellison, both of Oak Hill, and Helen Stanley of West Jefferson; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at 308 N. Plymouth St., Fayetteville.

Deborah J. Harris

STAFFORD, Va. -- Mrs. Deborah Jean Harris, 34, of 18 Moss Drive, formerly of Roseboro, N.C., died Sunday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Roseboro Church of God in Roseboro by the Revs. Dwight Aldinger and Dan Gore. Burial will be in Roseboro Cemetery in Roseboro.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband, Fred Harris of the home; a daughter, Amanda Harris of the home; two sons, Jason Harris and Bryan Strickland, both of the home; her parents, Bobby and Thelma Autry of Roseboro; a sister, Darlene H. Ezzell of Fayetteville, N.C; a brother, Bobby Autry Jr. of Roseboro; and her maternal grandmother, Brella Cannady of Clinton, N.C.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Stoney Locklear

LUMBERTON -- Stoney Locklear, 35, of 179 Holly Swamp Road died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Lowery family cemetery by the Rev. Henry Oxendine.

Mr. Locklear is survived by two sons, Damien Lowery and Dustin R. Locklear, both of Lumberton; a daughter, Tina A. Locklear of Lumberton; his father and stepmother, Willie and Peggy Locklear of Lumberton; his mother, Geraldine Locklear of Lumberton; a sister, Pamela Locklear of Lumberton; four brothers, Tony R. Locklear of Pembroke, and Ronnie L. Locklear, Johnnie R. Locklear and Willie Locklear Jr., all of Lumberton; and two stepsisters, Nikki Locklear and Cynthia Locklear, both of Pembroke.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Carlie Locklear

RED SPRINGS -- Carlie Locklear, 97, of 287 Goose Pond Road died Sunday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Elim Baptist Church by the Rev. David Hunt and Tony Brewington. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife, Strodie M. Locklear of Red Springs; three sons, Herman Locklear of Chesapeake Bay, Va., Harmon Locklear of Norfolk, Va., and Collins ‘‘Pee Wee’’ Locklear of Fayetteville; a daughter, Vera Parish of Red Springs; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler Funeral Home.

Mary S. Hudson
(Dated Tuesday, November 16, 1999)
DUNN -- Mrs. Mary Sue Hudson, 99, of Dunn died Monday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

Mrs. Hudson was a teacher for the Harnett County Schools before retiring.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery by Dr. Karl Minor.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by a son, Samuel F. Hudson Jr. of Raleigh; a daughter, Marguerite Marshall of Raleigh; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Skinner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Dunn First Baptist Church memorial gift fund, 309 W. Broad St., Dunn, N.C. 28334.

Helen T. Thompson
(Dated Tuesday, November 16, 1999)
SOUTHERN PINES -- Mrs. Helen Trella Thompson, 87, of Southern Pines died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines by the Rev. James Butler.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Clarence M. Thompson of Southern Pines; a sister, Amelia Cicarone of Standish, Maine; and a brother, John Trella of Winter Haven, Fla.

A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Powell Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marie G. Stringfield
(Dated Tuesday, November 16, 1999)
SANFORD -- Ms. Marie Goodwin Stringfield, 83, of 324 Grant St. died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Ms. Stringfield was a nurse at Lee County Hospital for 35 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Luke United Methodist Church by the Revs. Tom Loftis and Judy Drye. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.

Ms. Stringfield is survived by a daughter, Julia S. Holder of Greensboro; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

CHADBOURN -- David Frink, 62, of 306 S. Wilkes St. died Thursday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Methodist Church by Bishop Larry Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen.

Mr. Frink is survived by his wife, Orberia Frink of Chadbourn; two daughters, Patricia Sabb and Shelvia Hasting, both of Ellenville; his mother, Cleo Frink of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Sarah Frink of Newport News; and four brothers, Clarence Frink and Jasper Frink, both of Chadbourn, and George Frink and Glendell Frink, both of Newport News.

Dehlia P. Owens

ST. PAULS -- Ms. Dehlia Parker Owens, 82, of 210 Pate St. died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Saint Pauls Funeral Home’s Wallace Chapel by the Rev. Bob Tolar. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Ms. Owens is survived by three sons, Bobby Owens of Lumberton, Neil Owens of Wilmington and Clarence Owens Jr.; a daughter, Martha Canady of Rocky Point; a brother, Gary L. Parker of Fayetteville; two sisters, Eula Jackson of St. Pauls and Bertha Hester of Fayetteville; a stepdaughter, Gladys Jolly of St. Pauls; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ottis L. McKoy

CLARKTON -- Ottis Lee McKoy, 88, of 1684 White Plain Church Road died Thursday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.F. Pone. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Lisbon.

Mr. McKoy is survived by two daughters, Flora Walston of Manhattan, N.Y., and Joyce Knight of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Cary McKoy of Durham and the Rev. Cleophes McKoy of Lisbon; six sisters, Dora Brown and Mary C. Carter, both of Lisbon, Mae R. Core of Durham, Bertha Brown of Elizabethtown, Colister Whitley of Washington, D.C., and Vernell Monroe of Lisbon; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The public will be received today from 1 to 6:30 p.m. at F.W. Newton & Sons Mortuary.

Jean M. Neil

CARTHAGE -- Mrs. Jean Louise Mikesell Neil, 75, of 6033 Beulah Hill Church Road died Sunday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mrs. Neil was a painter. She performed in the Belltones ensemble.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Boles Funeral Home chapel in Pinehurst by Chaplain Edward E. Galloway. Entombment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Neil is survived by her husband, Nelson L. Neil of the home; two sons, Scott R. Neil of West End and Michael Neil of Hampton, Va.; a daughter, Patti N. Tyndall of Lillington; two sisters, Velma Muir of Mansfield, Ohio, and Ethel Miller of Blairsville, Pa.; a brother, Albert Mikesell of Derry, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Boles Funeral Home.

Lloyd H. Willis Sr.

HOPE MILLS -- Lloyd Harris Willis Sr., 76, of 3641 Lake Forest Road died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Willis was a sales representative for Pillsbury Co. before retiring. He was the former owner and operator of Willis Men’s Clothiers.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southview Presbyterian Church by Dr. Robert S. Pullman. Burial will be in Hope Mills Cemetery.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Virginia West-Willis of the home; two sons, Lloyd H. Willis Jr. of Fayetteville and Tony Willis of Hope Mills; a brother, Odis Willis of Rocky Mount; a sister, Hertha Willis of Marshallberg; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home.
