Sherrod Enrico Herring, 23, of 121 Peace St., Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by the Rev. N.P. Brodie Sr. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park.
Mr. Herring is survived by his wife, Marsha of Fayetteville; two daughters, Marquezah and Marshanae, both of Fayetteville; a stepson, Marshawn of Fayetteville; a half brother, Michael of Fayetteville; an adoptive brother, Antwain of Fayetteville; his mother and adoptive father, Katherine Herring and L.W. King, both of Fayetteville.
The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home.

LAURINBURG -- William Charles Davis, 48, of 202 Gill St. died Monday in his home.
Mr. Davis was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a maintenance supervisor at Campbell Soup Co.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Huckabee Grove Emanuel Holiness Church by the Rev. Larry Singletary. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Darlene S. Davis of Laurinburg; a son, Charles E. Davis of Laurinburg; two daughters, Shannon M. Bunyard of Wagram and Christel A. Davis of Laurinburg; his parents, Willie N. and Edna L. Davis of Laurel Hill; two brothers, Richard C. Davis of Seven Lakes and John W. Davis of Laurel Hill; a sister, Edna F. Davis of Cary; and two grandsons.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Boles Funeral Home & Crematory.

Jennings M. Davis

Jennings Maxmillian Davis, 84, of Fayetteville died Monday in Highland House Nursing Home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cross Creek Cemetery by the Revs. T.J. Foulk and Ricky McKenzie.
Mr. Davis is survived by a sister, Nita D. Tew of Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Highland Funeral Service & Crematory and at other times at the home of Nita D. Tew, 920 McKimmon Road, Fayetteville.
Edwin F. Davis

Edwin Foote Davis, 80, of Fayetteville died Monday in Resthaven Nursing Center.
Mr. Davis was a veteran of World War II and served in the First Marine Parachute Division. He was a former president of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. He was a consulting engineer for Hamilton-Beach Industries after retiring.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Helen G. Davis of the home; three sons, Edwin E. Davis and Christopher W. Davis, both of Knoxville, Tenn., and Gregory L. Davis of Westline, Pa.; two daughters, Elaine A. Davis of Durham and Alyssa K. Huneycutt of Fort Mill, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today form 12:40 to 1:40 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Lucy G. Currow

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Mrs. Lucy Gray Currow, 95, of Pensacola, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Monday.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel by Chaplain George Morgan. Burial will be in Bayview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Currow is survived by two sons, Neal C. Currow of Panama City and F. Richard ‘‘Dick’’ Currow of Pensacola; two daughters, Martha B. Shelnut of Panama City and Jacqueline ‘‘Jackie’’ Boyd of Pensacola; a brother, Macy W. Neal of Fayetteville; a sister, Vivian Smith of Fayetteville; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

HOPE MILLS -- Todd D. Calhoun, 38, of 427 Porter Road died Sunday in O’Berry Center in Goldsboro.

Mr. Calhoun is survived by his parents, Larry and Darlene Calhoun of Hope Mills; two brothers, Larry Calhoun Jr. of Houston and Christopher Calhoun of Gautier, Miss.; and his maternal grandmother, Juanella Rush of Houston.

William Bates Sr.

Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. William Bates Sr., 65, of 4727 Pamlico Road, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
During Mr. Bates’ career, he was awarded the Silver Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in New Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Marion Wright. Burial with military honors will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Arrangements are being handled by Cunninghan & Sons Mortuary.
Mr. Bates is survived by his wife, Pearl M. Bates of the home; five daughters, Denise Foster of Miami, Deborah Richardson of Roseboro and Rhonda Washington, Lisa Bates and Colleen Harper, all of Fayetteville; four sons, Billy Bates of Miami, Michael Bates, William Bates II and Kyei Bates, all of Fayetteville; three brothers, Eugene Bates of Memphis, Tenn., Carleigh Bates of New Jersey and Jimmy Bates of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 21 grandchildren.

LAURINBURG -- Lawrence Curtis Barber, 73, of 808 Cypress St. died Monday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Barber was a textile worker for Waverly Mills before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boles Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Lewis McLean and Douglas Key. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Mr. Barber is survived by his wife, Beatrice A. Barber of the home; a son, Larry H. Barber of Laurinburg; two daughters, Betty B. Breeden and Connie G. Barber, both of Laurinburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Victor Turner of Fort Monroe, Va.., Vincent Carnell of Norfolk, Va., and Sgt. James Carnell of Korea; a brother, Roscoe Lindsey; four sisters, Mary Acree, Martha Anderson, Ruth Brown and Mahalia Wooden; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his wife, Charlene Morrison of the home; a daughter, Jacalyn Pitcher of San Francisco; three adopted children, Nancy Molina and Cecil Pun, both of San Francisco, and Mary Mascarenhas of Suisun, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
