CARTHAGE -- Retired Army Maj. A.M. ‘‘Mac’’ Brewer, 83, of Carthage died Saturday in St. Joseph Skilled Nursing Facility in Southern Pines.
Mr. Brewer was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fry-Prickett Funeral Home by the Revs. Tom Williams and Gary McFarland. Burial will be in Cross Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brewer is survived by a sister, Faye B. Hamlin of Carthage; and two brothers, Stacy Brewer Jr. of Robbins and J. Bion Brewer of Sanford.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Sharon Britt Walters, 52, of 74 Tenth St. died Thursday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Walters was a quality control technician for Waverly Mills.

Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband, William Walters of Laurinburg; two sons, Brian Britt of Laurel Hill and Jason Walters of Laurinburg; her mother, Frances B. Tessman of Laurinburg; six brothers, Royce Britt and Edward Tessman, both of Laurinburg, and Wesley Britt of Springfield, Mo., Charles Tessman, Jamie Tessman and Shawn Tessman, all of Hammond, Ind.; three sisters, Sally Neverve of Laurinburg, Karen Kawalski of Oklahoma and Debra Ramirez of Delmont, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Raynor was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. He was in the restaurant business.

Mr. Raynor is survived by his wife, Rosalie R. Raynor; a brother, Valton Raynor of Benson; and two sisters, Grace Wood and Maude Raynor, both of Benson.

Mrs. Sellmon is survived by her husband, Dennis Sellmon Jr. of the home; a stepdaughter, Tekoa Sellmon of Washington, D.C.; a stepson, Dennis Sellmon III of Washington; her parents, James and Lucille Wormack of Hope Mills; two sisters, Genette Wormack and Dorothy Johnson, both of Hope Mills; a brother, James Wormack Jr. of Newport News, Va.; and her maternal grandparents, Moddie B. West of Fayetteville and Irish M. Willis of Baltimore.
The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.

Mr. Whittington was a member of Whiteville Church of God. He worked with Wells Oldsmobile in Whiteville for more than 25 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Whiteville Church of God by the Revs. Clark Whittington, Allen Strickland and Malcolm Whittington. Burial will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Whittington is survived by his wife, Louise H. Whittington of the home; three daughters, Martha W. McPherson of Clarendon and Judy W. McPherson and Lillian W. Williams, both of Whiteville; five sons, Malcolm Whittington of Mao, Fla., and Vernon Whittington, Joy Whittington, Larry Whittington and Gary Whittington, all of Whiteville; 23 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Robert ‘Bob’ Jordan Jr.

Mr. Jordan was an Army veteran.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hillside Memorial Park in Moore County, N.C., by the Rev. Kenneth Blease.
Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Madge E. Jordan of Savannah; a son, Keith Jordan of Savannah; a daughter, Vanessa Jordan of Savannah; his mother, Gladys P. Cooke of Laurinburg; two sisters, Teresa J. Wise and Faye J. Coates, both of Laurinburg; and two grandsons.
