The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Victory Holiness Church by the Revs. Everette Woods and David Locklear. Burial will be in the Lowry family cemetery.

Mr. Lowry is survived by three sisters, Deanie L. Mash of Statesville, Judy A. Locklear of Pembroke and Robin Parnell of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two brothers, Jeffery Lowry and Larkie Lowry, both of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Revels Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Leslie Locklear Jr.

LUMBERTON -- Leslie Locklear Jr., 66, of 290 Lumbee Ave. died Friday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Revels Funeral Home of Pembroke.

Etta J. Green
(Dated Monday, December 27, 1999)
Mrs. Etta J. Green, 94, of 1124 Cedar Creek Road, Fayetteville, died Saturday.

Mrs. Green was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Kenneth Jackson and Charles Griffin. Burial will be in LaFayette memorial Park.

Mrs. Green is survived by two sons, Julian B. Gibbs of Carthage and William D. Green of Apple Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Frances Lane of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Hospice, 3357 Village Drive, Fayetteville, N.C. 28304.

Jack W. Franklin

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Jack Winford Franklin, 74, of Elizabethtown died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Center Road Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon Britt and Dr. Mack Roberts. Burial will be in New Pait Cemetery.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife, Louise T. Franklin of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Linda Mason of Springhill, Fla.; two sons, John Franklin of Bunnlevel and Paul Franklin of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kinlaw Funeral Home.

William S. ‘Bill’ Fox

BLADENBORO -- William Samuel ‘‘Bill’’ Fox, 76, of Bladenboro died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lewis Funeral Home chapel by Dr. Bobby K. Carden. Burial will be in Kelly Cemetery.

Mr. Fox is survived by his wife, Margaret Fox of the home; two daughters, Patti Caviness and Tressa Ingram, both of Van Buren, Ark.; a son, William S. ‘‘Butch’’ Fox Jr. of Muldrow, Okla.; seven sisters, Jean Ross of Pennsylvania, Loretta Perry of Wilmington, Del., Elizabeth Collins of Harrington, Del., Mary Jane Meeks, Henrieta Dayton, Patsy Travers and Ernestine Bloodworth, all of Cambridge, Md.; a brother, John Fox of Cambridge; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Lewis Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to White Oak Free Will Baptist Church, N.C. 211 Business, Bladenboro, N.C. 28320.

Blanche M. Harrington

CINCINNATI -- Mrs. Blanche McNeil Harrington, 82, of Cincinnati, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Wednesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lewis Chapel Baptist Church in Fayetteville by the Rev. John D. Fuller. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Harrington is survived by five sons, Warren Harrington of Los Angeles, Dallas Harrington of Cincinnati, James R. Harrington of Seattle, Philip Harrington of Cambridge, Mass., and Wallace Harrington of Memphis, Tenn.; and a daughter, Theresa Taylor of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends at the home of Theresa Taylor, 407 Lions Head Road, Fayetteville.

Janice M. Duncan

LAKEVIEW -- Mrs. Janice Marie Duncan, 55, of Lakeview died Friday in her home.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband, Lloyd F. Duncan; four daughters, Cathy Duncan of Whispering Pines, Kim Duncan of Carthage, Lisa Duncan of Lakeview and Callie Duncan of Pinebluff; her father, Roland Norton of Southern Pines; a sister, Jennie Dutton of Aberdeen; and five grandchildren.

Gail P. Denton

Ms. Gail P. Denton, 60, of 1819 Elliott Farm Road, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

PINEVILLE -- Mrs. Eunice Thelma Price Brown, 90, of 10516 Tillman Steem Road, formerly of Fayetteville, died Friday in Mercy South Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Chris Brown. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Brown is survived by a daughter, Joyce Stubbs of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sisters, Flossie Barbee of Pine Level and Leatha Harper of Smithfield; a brother, David Price of Pine Level; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beverly Barr, 65, of 4225 Sussex Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Jane E. Bardowell

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Jane E. Bardowell, 61, of E. 15th St. died Thursday in Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

Mrs. Bardowell was a member of Burnt Swamp Baptist Church. She was a nursing assistant for Kingsdale Manor.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Burnt Swamp Baptist Church by the Revs. Keith Long and Douglas Campbell. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bardowell is survived by a son, Danny E. Bardowell of Rocky Mount; her mother, Bessie L. Locklear of Lumberton; four brothers, Samuel Locklear and Gary Locklear, both of Lumberton, and Roger T. Locklear and Truit Locklear, both of Pembroke; and four sisters, Nellie Wilkins and Maxine Emanuel, both of Pembroke, Normie J. Land of Mount Holly, N.J., and Patricia A. Clark of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Samuel Locklear, 224 Beverly Circle, Lumberton.

Ruth I. Lathan

CLARKTON -- Ms. Ruth Inman Lathan, 93, of Clarkton died Sunday in her home.

Ms. Lathan was a retired first-grade teacher for Clarkton Schools.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Clarkton Methodist Church by the Rev. Peyton Royal. Burial will be in Clarkton Cemetery.

Ms. Lathan is survived by a daughter, Jane L. Ray of Winston-Salem; a son, William R. Lathan Jr. of New Bern; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kinlaw Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Clarkton Methodist Church or to Clarkton Rescue Squad.

Peggy L. Windsor

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Peggy Sue Lemmons Windsor, 62, of 1303 Charles Drive died Tuesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Mrs. Windsor was the secretary and vice-president of Sam’s Mobile Home Sales in Laurel Hill.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Wil I. Jackson. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.

Mrs. Windsor is survived by her husband, Sam Windsor of Laurinburg; two sons, Andrew Windsor of Laurel Hill and David Windsor of Anderson, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.

Oren W. Whitehead

LAURINBURG -- Oren Wendell Whitehead, 72, of 12610 Woodpecker Lane died Sunday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mr. Whitehead was a biology teacher at Scotland High School for 20 years. He was a consultant for Whitehead Enterprises.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in St. David’s Episcopal Church by Vicar Jane Bruce.

Mr. Whitehead is survived by his wife, Carol Whitehead of Laurinburg; two sons, James Whitehead of Laurinburg and Will Whitehead of Grapevine, Texas; a daughter, Laura ‘‘Lolly’’ Foy of Charlotte; a sister, Lila Jo Sheltren of Ojai, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.

Memorials may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church building fund, P.O. Box 334, Laurinburg, N.C. 28353.

Irene B. Whitehead

PAULINE, S.C. -- Mrs. Irene Burgess Whitehead, 86, of 4845 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Sunday in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Whitehead formerly worked in the Fayetteville school system.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today in Bogansville United Methodist Church by the Revs. James Davis and Doug Gilliland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Holcombe Funeral Home of Union.

Mrs. Whitehead is survived by a daughter, Anita W. Redman of the home; two sisters, Wilma B. Gambrell of Laurens and Mildred B. Griffin of Columbia; a brother, Billy Burgess of Laurens; and two grandchildren.
