BOWIE, Md. -- Mrs. Josephine Rozier Thompson, 81, of 12103 Ravencroft Court, formerly of Lumberton, N.C., died Saturday.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Chrystolite Methodist Church by the Rev. Eugene Shaw. Burial will be in Rozier Cemetery in Lumberton.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by five daughters, Veronica T. Lipkins of Bowie, Lelia M. Allen and Willie Thompson, both of Pittsburgh, Virginia Williams of Irvington, N.J., and Judy Frye of Forrestville; a son, Ivey Shaw of Adelphe; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The public will be received Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Maultsby & Sons Funeral Home.

LINDEN -- Edward J. ‘‘Ed’’ Taylor Sr., 55, of 9340 Chickapee Drive died Saturday in his home.
Mr. Taylor was the owner of Taylor’s of Fayetteville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Edward J. Taylor Home by the Rev. Leon Keefe.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Susie L. Taylor of the home; a daughter, Rhonda T. Pollard of Linden; two sons, E. James Taylor Jr. of Linden and Zachary C. Taylor of the home; his mother, Alice R. Taylor of Fayetteville; a brother, John R. Taylor of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Clarence C. Sholar

ELIZABETHTOWN -- Clarence Currie Sholar, 85, of 2200 N.C. 242 North died Monday in Bladen County Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Church of God of Prophecy by the Revs. Alton Burrow, Tim Coalter and Sam Watkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Sholar is survived by his wife, Flora M. Sholar of the home; three daughters, Linda Richards of Elizabethtown, Janet Inman of Rutherfordton and Deloris Kauvelaar of White Oak; four sons, Clarence Sholar Jr. of Canton, Gene Sholar of Orlando, Fla., Donald Sholar of Elizabethtown and Larry Sholar of White Lake; three sisters, Eula Hilburn of Bladenboro, Sarah Lambert of Laurinburg and Nellie Clemenger of Fayetteville; a brother, Frank Sholar of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Marie Brady Sharpe, 100

BENNETT -- Mrs. Marie Brady Sharpe of 424 N.C. 22 died Sunday in Sunbridge Health Care Center in Siler City. She was 100.
Mrs. Sharpe was a member of High Falls Friends Church. She was a secretary for Monroe Lumber Co. in Laurel Hill before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Community Friends Church in Carthage by the Revs. Bobby Marsh and Robert L. Kidd. Burial will be in Prosperity Friends Church cemetery near High Falls.
Mrs. Sharpe is survived by a stepson, John Sharpe Jr. of Henderson; two sisters, Nora B. Tillman of Robbins and Mary B. Kidd of Bennett; and several step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins and at other times at the home of Mary Kidd, 242 N.C. 22, Bennett.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Bristol Creek Baptist Church in Dothan by the Rev. Elisha Jackson. Burial will be in Faulk Cemetery in Dothan. Arrangements are being handled by Westside Funeral Home of Tabor City, N.C.
Mrs. Persell is survived by two sons, Danny Persell and Jerome Persell, both of Detroit; a daughter, Nadine Fears of Detroit; three sisters, Mary Longs of Dothan, Ella Mitchell of Texas and Roma Bellamy of Bolivia, N.C.; and two brothers, George Faulk of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Paul Faulk of Baltimore.
