Mr. Gibson was a Marine veteran of World War II.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Seven Lakes Chapel in the Pines by the Rev. Charles Hinson. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Jean Gibson of West End; two daughters, S. Lynn McKibbin of Atlanta and Carol A. Scemanenco of Cardiff, Calif.; a son, Roger S. Gibson of Safety Harbor, Fla.; a sister, Joann Anderson of Kissimmee, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Ira Vaughn Faircloth Jr., 66, of 2614 Lone Pine Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First United Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Scott Fillmer. Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Faircloth is survived by his wife, Eva S. Faircloth; two daughters, Diane Moore and Cara Acus, both of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Richard W. Johnson and Clarence E. Johnson, both of Fayetteville; four stepdaughters, Brenda Allen, Joyce A. English, Sylvia Towe and Mary E. Brewington, all of Fayetteville; his mother, Vera M. Culbreth of Fayetteville; a sister, Betty Bland of Fayetteville; two brothers, James Faircloth and Willie J. Culbreth, both of Sunset Beach; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

LUMBER BRIDGE -- Ms. Jackie Marionette Cox, 74, of 8299 Arabia Road died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Crumpler Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Jim Barbour and Bob Barbour.
Ms. Cox is survived by a son, John E. Cox Jr. of Parkton; six daughters, Brenda Dens and Virginia D. Kerstetter, both of Lumber Bridge, Kathy Lamb of Parkton, Carolyn A. Huggins and Marion M. Bryant, both of Hope Mills, and Debbie L. Allen of Dover, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

RALEIGH -- Mrs. Theresa Culbreth Townsend, 86, of Manorhouse of Raleigh, formerly of Robeson County, died Thursday in Rex Health Care.
Mrs. Townsend was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church. She was a retired registered nurse. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Eastern Star.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Ten Mile Baptist Church in Lumberton by the Revs. Michael Arnette and Vernon Britt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by a sister, Margaret Chapman of Raleigh.
