Mrs. Emma P. Byrd (Dated Monday, August 9, 1999)
LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Emma Patterson Byrd, 72, of Lillington died Sunday in Harnett Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Byrd worked at Koury Co. for 35 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers by the Rev. Martin Groover. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by a son, Carl Byrd of Lillington; two brothers, John B. Patterson of Clayton and Larry Patterson of Mamers; three sisters, Carolyn Haire and Marie Hinesly, both of Spring Lake, and Sadie Byrd of Sanford; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Inez Willis (Dated Monday, August 9, 1999)
DUNN -- Mrs. Inez Willis, 82, of 441 Plainview Highway died Saturday.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Jesse Fulcher. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by West & Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove.
Mrs. Willis is survived by a daughter, Shirley West of Dunn; a son, Robert ‘‘Bob’’ Willis of Spiveys Corner; a sister, Haven Blackman of Clinton; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Mae Godwin Procter, 76, of 3709 Minter School Road died Saturday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Edgewood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dale Miller. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Mrs. Procter is survived by her husband, Henry W. Procter; two sons, Jimmy Wilson and Bobby Wilson, both of Sanford; a daughter, Judy Johnston of Sanford; three sisters, Catherine G. Coley and Lela G. Harrington and Magolene Godwin, both of Broadway; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Mrs. Lucille D. Fields (Dated Monday, August 9, 1999)
NEPTUNE, N.J. -- Mrs. Lucille Dimmock Fields, 81, of Neptune, formerly of Pinehurst, N.C., died Thursday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Missionary Baptist Church in Southern Pines, N.C., by the Rev. Joshua J. Haire Jr. Burial will be in Jackson Hamlet Community Cemetery in Pinehurst.
Mrs. Fields is survived by a daughter, Hannah E. Fields-Silvera of Bronx, N.Y.; a brother, James Dimmock of Lithonia, Ga.; a sister, Ruth D. Barrett of Southern Pines; two stepsisters, Betty Jackson and Catherine Jeter, both of Southern Pines; and two grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Simon Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Mrs. Norma Jean Kerns, 65, of 207 Helen St., Fayetteville, died Sunday.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Henry Lee.
Mrs. Kerns is survived by her husband, Gilmore J. Kerns of the home; two sons, Michael S. Kerns of Marietta, Ga., and Timothy S. Kerns of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Katherine S. Capps of Fayetteville and Patricia K. Masten of Winston-Salem; a sister, Barbara A. Nelson of Cameron; and three grandsons.
The family will receive friends after the service at the 82nd Airborne Division Association Fayetteville Chapter.
