The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in McLean Chapel Free Will Baptist Church by the Revs. Troy Williams and Benjamin Sutton. Burial will be in St. Timothy Church cemetery.
Mr. Walker is survived by Sylvia Taylor; two daughters, Helen Davis of the home and Lisa Matos of Linden; five sisters, Patricia Davis of Bunnlevel, Doretha Walker of Linden, Eurine McLean of Lillington, Brenda McDougald of Fayetteville and Dora Cox of Japan; five brothers, Leon Walker and Charles Walker, both of Bunnlevel, Joe R. Davis of Sanford, Robert E. Davis of Linden and Butch Cameron of Indianapolis; and a grandchild.
The public will be received today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Dafford Funeral Home in Dunn.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Louise Walker, 87, of 716 Ellis St., Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

WHITEVILLE -- Mrs. Lorena Spears, 71, of 1883 Old Wilmington Road died Sunday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Light Baptist Church in Hallsboro by the Rev. Earl Godfrey. Burial will be in Cutler Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw. Arrangements are being handled by Peoples Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spears is survived by her husband, Charles Spears; two daughters, Deborah Johnson of Orange, N.J., and Alicia Spears of Durham; two sons, Charles G. Spears of Jamaica, N.Y., and Maurice Spears of Hallsboro; her mother, Janie Howard of Whiteville; and a brother, Charles G. Powell of St. Albans, N.Y.

RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Annie Bell Pevia, 80, of 2485 Duffie Road died Sunday in Pemberton Place Nursing Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in Galilee Baptist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Locklear. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Red Springs Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pevia is survived by her husband, Rubin Pevia of Pembroke; three sons, Bernice Pevia and Allen Pevia, both of Lumber Bridge, and Felton Pevia of Lumberton; a daughter, Catherine P. Maynor of Red Springs; three brothers, H.B. Oxendine of Red Springs, James J. Oxendine of Florida and Henry H. Oxendine of Rennert; three sisters, Lula M. Cummings of Maxton, Annie M. Locklear of Rockingham and Mary B. Jacobs of Red Springs; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

BEAUFORT -- Jersey Gray Murray, 49, of 691 Merrimon Road, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Murray was a welder.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. W.V. Pritchett. Burial will be in Carteret Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Oscar’s Mortuary of New Bern.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife, Lois Murray of Fayetteville; three daughters, Brenda F. Murray, Linda Murray and Irene McClean, all of Fayetteville; a son, Johnny L. McCoy of Fayetteville; six brothers, Julius Murray, James Murray, John Murray, Donald Murray, Billy Murray and Jimmy Murray, all of Beaufort; two sisters, Marlene Murray of the home and Esther Jones of New Bern; and four grandchildren.

SOUTHERN PINES -- Ms. Edna Earl Maurer, 95, of Southern Pines died Monday in St. Joseph of the Pines.
Ms. Maurer was a postmaster in Aberdeen for 27 years.
