The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Bethany Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Arnold Walker. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife, Thressa A. Floyd of the home; five daughters, Tammy F. McNeil, April F. Leake and Robin Floyd, all of Lumberton, Rachel F. Nelson of Newport News, Va., and Sharon Genus of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, James Floyd and Jerotha Floyd, both of Rex; two sisters, Joyce Monroe and Carrie McMillan, both of Rex; and three grandchildren.

SPRING LAKE -- Byron J. Dickinson, 33, of Spring Lake died July 1 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in True Victory Deliverance Tabernacle in Fayetteville. Arrangements are being handled by LaFayette Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
Mr. Dickinson is survived by his wife, Teresa Dickinson of the home; a stepdaughter, Tiffeny W. Woodard of Maryland; a stepson, Gaylon Washington of Fayetteville; his father and stepmother, Robert and Liz Dickinson of Tennessee; his mother, Freda Brandenberg of Paris, Tenn.; a brother, Carlton Brandenberg of Tennessee; his paternal grandparents, O.L. and Charlene Dickinson of Tennessee; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Ruby W. Denton (Dated Thursday, July 8, 1999)
CLINTON -- Mrs. Ruby W. Denton, 89, of 954 Rowan Road died Wednesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Denton was a member of Rowan Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Rowan Baptist Church by the Rev. Gregory Day. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Denton is survived by two sons, Lenwood N. Denton Jr. of Clinton and Bobby W. Denton of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Louise Elliott of Ponoma, Calif., Margaret McCullen of Clinton and Allene O’Rourke of Simi Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Eugene Warren of Clinton and the Rev. Clarence Warren of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Chavis is survived by two sons, William T. Brayboy of Maxton and Iron Brayboy Jr. of San Diego; two daughters, Mary L. Munger of Laurinburg and Ruth Romano of Pembroke; three stepdaughters, Delphia Dial of Latta, S.C., Allie M. Haggan of Maxton and Alice Hunt of South Carolina; a sister, Effie J. Carter of Pembroke; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

TAR HEEL -- Ms. Margaret Prevatte Butler, 63, of 357 Old N.C. 41 died Tuesday in her home.

Ms. Butler is survived by a son, Clinton E. Butler of Waxhaw; two daughters, Lt. Col. Janice B. Ryckeley of Poquoson, Va., and Cheryl S. Chappell of Burlington; three sisters, Lib Morris and Ricky Morris, both of Bladenboro, and Shirley Skinner of Lake Gaston; and a grandson.

Mr. Simmons was the chief maintenance engineer for Columbus County Hospital for 32 years before retiring.
