Mrs. Annie Jane Jones Monroe Ray, 78, of 1062 Brenda Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Simon Temple AME Zion Church by elder Billy E. Bohannon Sr. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Wiseman Mortuary.
Mrs. Ray is survived by a son, Samuel L. Monroe Jr. of the home; two sisters, Mary Artis of Fayetteville and Myrtle Bowser of Bronx, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Ronald C. McLaurin (Dated Friday, July 9, 1999)
LAURINBURG -- Ronald Charles McLaurin, 41, of 510 N. Caledonia Road died Tuesday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Luke Baptist Church in Hasty by the Rev. Thomas Southerland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. McLaurin is survived by a brother, George P. McLaurin of Laurinburg; and his grandmother, Maggie McLaurin of the home.

William S. Murchison, 54, of 1738 Shiloh Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rockfish Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Raeford by Bishop R.L. Douglas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Murchison is survived by two sons, Aaron Murchison of Fayetteville and William Murchison II of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a daughter, Jennifer Goff of Lois, S.C.; and his mother, Gladys Murchison of Raeford.
The public will be received today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Doby Funeral Home.
Ms. Alice B. Monroe (Dated Friday, July 9, 1999)
TAR HEEL -- Ms. Alice Berline Monroe, 73, of 106 Main St. died Wednesday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Love Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Lloyd and Martin Wilson. Burial will be in the Monroe family cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McNeill Funeral Home.
Ms. Monroe is survived by three daughters, Mary A. Burrington and Ann Nunnery, both of Tar Heel, and Linda Devane of White Oak; a stepdaughter, Melba Godwin of Eastman, Ga.; two sons, William Monroe of Tar Heel and James H. ‘‘Buck’’ Monroe of St. Pauls; two sisters, Mildred N. Allen of Bladenboro and Elizabeth Graffe of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Woodrow Smith of Salemburg and Donnie R. Smith of Tar Heel; 24 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren.

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Ruth Rowland McLaurin, 76, of 249 Gulf St. died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Graham Temple Church of God in Christ by the Rev. Andrew Fairley. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park.
Mrs. McLaurin is survived by two daughters, Joan Johnson and Ruth Benson, both of Laurinburg; six sons, Walter Leak, Lacy McLaurin, Clarence McLaurin Jr., David McLaurin, John McLaurin and Larrie McLaurin, all of Laurinburg; 40 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Clarence Ozell ‘‘Zeke’’ Hester, 75, of Spartanburg, formerly of Bladen County, N.C., died Wednesday.
Mr. Hester was a Navy veteran of World War II.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pinecrest Cemetery in Bladenboro, N.C., by Henry C. Hester.
Mr. Hester is survived by three daughters, Paula Condon of Taylors, Marsha Deal of Moore and Regina Henderson of Inman; a son, C.O. ‘‘Spike’’ Hester Jr. of Durham, N.C.; a sister, Bessie Bryan of Bladenboro; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ms. Graham is survived by three sisters, Alice Freeman and Joyce Graham, both of Bolton, and Ester Kearney of Henderson; and two brothers, the Rev. Ned E. Graham of Riegelwood and Lloyd Graham of Bolton.
