Randy D. Gee (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
Randy Dean Gee, 39, of Route 38, Box 1076-E, Fayetteville, died Friday.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Hall family cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.
Mr. Gee is survived by his father, V.L. Lewis of Lebanon, Md.; a sister, Sandra Walker of Fayetteville, Ark.; and a brother, Vince Gee of Springfield, Mo.
Donald E. Roop (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
Donald Eugene Roop, 70, of 7026 Ryan St., Fayetteville, died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Roop retired from the civil service. He was a member of the Mingo Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Logan, Ohio. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
Mr. Roop is survived by his wife, Juanita V. Roop; a daughter, Vicki Hutson of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Donna Yantes of Rockbridge, Ohio; and a grandson.
Liston O. Powell (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Liston Oswald Powell, 64, of 1829 Glenwick Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Reeves Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Rev. Gary Strickland. Entombment with military honors will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Margaret P. Powell; a daughter, Linda P. Marsh of Fayetteville; two sons, Dan Powell of Coats and Dean Powell of Hope Mills; three brothers, Don Powell and Ken Powell, both of Fayetteville, and Fairley Powell of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Ernest Phipps, 63, of 3851 Camden Road, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in his home.

Ms. Annie B. Bragg, 87, of 6527 Senator Drive, Fayetteville, died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Luther W. Dewitt Jr. (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
SPRING LAKE -- Luther William Dewitt Jr., 60, of 119 Walnut Drive died Monday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
Mr. Dewitt was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a forklift operator for Kelly Spingfield Tire Co. before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in The Lighthouse Christian Church by the Revs. Tom Gardner and Donnie Drake. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Dewitt is survived by his wife, E. Florence Dewitt of Spring Lake; a son, Luther W. Dewitt III of Spring Lake; three brothers, Clarence R. Dewitt of Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va., Kenny Dewitt of Huntington, W.Va., and Kenneth Dewitt of Granite City, W.Va.; six sisters, Beulah Erskin of Hurricane, W.Va., Reba Fulmer of Sacramento, Calif., Rosalee Michels of Laurel, Md., Fay Bower of Snow Hill, Betty Hughes of Glenwood, W.Va., and Hazel Dewitt of West Virginia; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Adcock Funeral Home.
Ms. Grace B. Griffin (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
LUMBERTON -- Ms. Grace Barnhill Griffin, 79, of N.C. Cancer Institute, formerly of Fairmont, died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Griffin was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Fairmont Cemetery by the Rev. Mark Gaskins. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Funeral Services.
Ms. Griffin is survived by a daughter, Janice Totty of Midlothian, Va.; a brother, Robert Barnhill of Sumter, S.C.; a sister, Bernice Atkinson of Richmond, Va.; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Faye McKeithen Greene, 55, of 305 E. Globe St. died Friday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in New Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Al Harrison. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Watson Mortuary.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband, Louis Mitchell of Sanford; two sons, Weldon Walker and Jeffery Walker, both of Sanford; two sisters, Pauline Mickie and Pansy Graham, both of Baltimore; a brother, Lorenzo Hooker of Boston; and four grandchildren.
Ms. Losie C. Barber (Dated Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999)
SOUTHERN PINES -- Ms. Losie Cockman Barber, 90, of St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center, formerly of Robbins, died Tuesday.
Ms. Barber was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Cross Roads Baptist Church by the Revs. Mike Holyfield, Bennie Maness and D.C. Sullivan. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
Ms. Barber is survived by three sons, Ted Barber of Star and Arthur Barber and Mack Barber, both of Carthage; two daughters, Betty Dunlap of Robbins and Judy B. Oldham of Bear Creek; and four sisters, Ocie Brown of Carthage, Ressie McDaniel of Central Falls and Tessie Kennedy and Mable Glenn, both of Robbins.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Home.

ORRUM -- Matthew Tyler Rogers, infant son of Richard and Kandi Rogers, of 127 Woodrow Road died Sunday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Singletary Baptist Church by the Rev. Mitchell Nance. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.
In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by his maternal grandparents, Ben and Dawn Hill of Fairmont; his paternal grandparents, Neal and Betty Rogers of Lumberton; his maternal great-grandparents, Dayton and Eunice Hill of Fairmont; and his paternal great-grandmother, Eva B. Pridgen of Lumberton.

CONCORD -- Gilbert Inman Edwards, 56, of 70 Todd Drive NE died Monday in Northeast Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hartsell Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Tim Newton and Gary Posey. Burial will be in West Concord Cemetery.
Among Mr. Edwards’ survivors are two sons, Mark Edwards and Jason Edwards, both of Clinton; and a daughter, Selena E. Crumpter of Clinton.
