CLINTON -- William Coy Wilson, 88, of 295 Lockamy Road died Tuesday in Duplin County Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Royal-Hall Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Lawrence Goodman. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.

Mr. Wilson is survived by a son, Steve Wilson of Clinton; a daughter, Vicki L. Lemly of Fleetwood; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Carlie L. Tuton

CHADBOURN -- Carlie Lee Tuton, 87, of 7693 Rough and Ready Road died Sunday in his home.

Mr. Tuton was a tobacconist.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Ward’s Station Church of God by the Revs. Charles Dudley and Lawrence Keel. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Worthington Funeral Home.

Mr. Tuton is survived by a son, Carlton D. Tuton of Fayetteville; two daughters, Glenda T. Callaway of Ocala, Fla., and Pat Tuton of the home; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home.

Mrs. Laura Turnage

ERWIN -- Mrs. Laura ‘‘Bo Peep’’ Turnage, 68, of 701 East H. St. died Tuesday in Good Hope Hospital.

Mrs. Turnage was a secretary for Erwin Church of God for 50 years. She was a retired government worker.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Erwin Church of God by the Rev. Currie Parker. Burial will be in Erwin Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Price Funeral Home.

Mrs. Turnage is survived by her husband, Lewis Turnage of Erwin; a son, Lafayette Trogden of Hopkins, S.C.; her mother, Florence Poythress of Dunn; a brother, William Poythress of Georgia; a sister, Elizabeth Heidy of Waltersboro; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Erwin Church of God, 109 West C. St., Erwin, N.C. 28339.

Reece Tubb

Reece Tubb, 24, of 5006 Utile Road, Fayetteville, died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

A graveside service with Masonic rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tubb is survived by his mother, Jody Hinson of Fayetteville; a sister, Sarah Hinson of the home; and his maternal grandfather, Carl Reece of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Reeves Funeral Home in Hope Mills.

Memorials may be made to the Masonic and Eastern Home, 650 College St., Oxford, N.C. 27565; or to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, care of Sudan Temple, P.O. Box 490, New Bern, N.C. 28364.

Sherrill M. Tart

CHADBOURN -- Sherrill Minson Tart, 60, of Tatum Road died Monday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Vernon Williamson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Worthington Funeral Home.

Mr. Tart is survived by his wife, Jo Ann N. Tart of the home; a son, Steven Tart of Chadbourn; a daughter, Cynthia Nickelson of Chadbourn; two brothers, Raydon Tart and Robert Tart, both of Dunn; three sisters, Georgia Johnson, Ann Bethune and Betty Parker, all of Benson; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Susie B. Davis

CARTHAGE -- Mrs. Susie Blue Davis, 84, of Pine Lake Health Care and Rehabilitation Center died Monday.

Mrs. Davis was a member of Raeford Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Raeford Cemetery by Dr. John C. Ropp. Arrangements are being handled by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two grandsons; and four great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.

Memorials may be made to Raeford Presbyterian Church, Edinborough Avenue, Raeford, N.C. 28376.

Mrs. Nova Strickland

FAIR BLUFF -- Mrs. Nova Strickland, 70, of Fair Bluff died Monday in Waccamaw Village Rest Home.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Peoples Funeral Home chapel in Whiteville. Burial will be in Butler Branch Cemetery.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by three sons, Elbert Strickland of Columbus, Ga., Terry Strickland of Tabor City and Larry Strickland of Chadbourn; and five daughters, Joyce S. Oula of Jamaica, N.Y., Darine Strickland of Chadbourn, Margie D. Strickland and Gracie L. Sidibay, both of Bronx, N.Y., and Alycia Marshall of New York.

Ms. Kathleen B. Smith

SANFORD -- Ms. Kathleen Esther Bridges Smith, 86, of 408 S. Franklin Drive died Tuesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Bruce MacInnis. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.

Ms. Smith is survived by a son, Richard Williams of Palmyra, Va.; a daughter, Bertha K. Doss of Germantown, Md.; a sister, Zelma Curry of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters, Rosa L. Iverson and Louise Rowland, both of Bronx, N.Y., and Shirley Moore of Charlotte; a son, L.C. Smith of Charlotte; a brother, John McLean of the home; and three sisters, Elizabeth Simelton and Cornelia Patterson, both of Charlotte, and Addie M. Love of Laurinburg.

LAKE WACCAMAW -- Ms. Mary Lee Thompson Ransom, 76, of Lake Waccamaw died Sunday in Premier Living.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Mount Calvary Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Garland Suggs. Burial will be in Bullard Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis Funeral Home.

Ms. Ransom is survived by a son, Charles Ransom of Whiteville; a daughter, Mary R. Rhodes of Raleigh; a brother, E.B. Thompson of Bladenboro; a sister, Omie Wiggins of Clarkton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Louella Peterson of the home; four daughters, Lois Ashley of Clinton, Annie P. Roberts and Wilma Boykin, both of Jamaica, N.Y., and Barbara McPhail of Salemburg; a son, Jake Peterson Jr. of Washington, D.C.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The public will be received today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Ms. McDuffie is survived by a son, Charlie McDuffie Jr. of Hope Mills; three daughters, Cathy Faulkner and Cindy Haddock, both of Fayetteville, and Phyllis McDuffie of Parkton; a brother, L.S. Griffin of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary B. McCrowre

Mrs. Mary Bell Bullard McCrowre, 62, of 1230 Bowden Road, Fayetteville, died Monday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Wiseman Mortuary chapel by the Rev. Ronnie McCrowre. Burial will be in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 4.

Mrs. McCrowre is survived by her husband, Albert McCrowre of the home; five daughters, Virginia Blanche, Sarah B. McGathy, Stella M. Hoston, Willie M. McCrowre and Carolyn A. McCrowre, all of Fayetteville; two sons, Bobby McCrowre of Sanford and James A. McCrowre of Raleigh; two brothers, John C. Bullard of St. Pauls and Lemar Bullard of Parkton; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Stella Hoston, 223 Sedberry St., Fayetteville.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Wrenn Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Rick Gaskins and Clyde P. Wheeler. Burial with military honors will be in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife, Margaret P. Kennedy; a daughter, Joann K. Pearson of Gaston; a son, Michael L. Kennedy of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Dan Tanner of Henrico and Phillip Tanner of Valentines, Va.; two sisters, Marion Black of Hope Mills and Lessie Loya of White Oak; a brother, Bill Kennedy of Raeford; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
