ABERDEEN -- Ms. Ruth Monroe, 80, of 305 Lucky Loop Road died Tuesday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary Holiness Church in Hamlet by Bishop A.V. Lindsey. Burial will be in Berkley Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Pugh Funeral Home.
Ms. Monroe is survived by three sons, James Monroe of Bronx, N.Y., Joseph Monroe of New Jersey and Thomas Hemingway of Chester, Pa.; a daughter, Kimberly McBride of the home; a brother, McKinley Hemingway of Newburgh, N.Y.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Solid Rock Holiness Church.
Mrs. Dalphia S. Melvin (dated Friday, July 16, 1999)
Mrs. Dalphlia Smith Melvin, 72, of 1100 Clarendon St., Apt. 107-C, Fayetteville, died Thursday in Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Melvin was a member of First Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church by Dr. E. Glen Holt and the Rev. Brent Rector. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mrs. Melvin is survived by two sons, Richard A. Melvin of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Michael A. Melvin of Parkton; a sister, Letha S. Hubbard of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren.

Carlis McMillan (dated Friday, July 16, 1999)
ST. PAULS -- Carlis McMillan, 87, of Great Marsh Church Road died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. McMillan was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby McKoy. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Church cemetery.
Mr. McMillan is survived by a son, Jack A. McMillan of St. Pauls; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at McMillan Funeral Home.
John A. McEachin Jr. (dated Friday, July 16, 1999)
HOPE MILLS -- John Arthur McEachin Jr., 76, of 3713 Floyd Drive died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. McEachin was a World War II veteran. He was awarded the American Theater Service Medal with two bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a nurse before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Walk Chapel United Methodist Church in Raeford by the Rev. Henry Blue. Burial will be in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
Mr. McEachin is survived by his wife, Sarah McEachin of the home; two daughters, Barbara Burton of Somerset, N.J., and Brenda McEachin of Rockingham; three sisters, Jerry Jones and Otis McQueen, both of Fayetteville, and Constance McEachin of New York; a brother, Lacy McEachin of Fayetteville; and five grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home.

Retired Chief Warrant Officer James Williams McDaniel, 80, of 6311 Kincross Ave., Fayetteville, died Thursday in his home.

Mrs. Rebecca I. Mabry (dated Friday, July 16, 1999)
Mrs. Rebecca I. Mabry, 71, of 2251 McGill Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Mabry was a Navy veteran. She retired from the civil service as a hospital technician at Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in LaFayette Memorial Park by the Rev. Michael G. Thorn. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
Mrs. Mabry is survived by a son, Willie Fout of the home; a brother, Zeb Gardner of Fayetteville; three sisters, Mary A. Walters of Hot Springs, Ariz., Norva Greenway of Spartanburg, S.C., and Cecelia Godwin of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren.

Robert David Greene, 64, of 2597 Hope Mills Road, Lot No. 4, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in his home.

Mr. Greene is survived by his wife, Deanna Huggins of Lumberton; two daughters, Vicky G. Haidegger of Parkton and Laura A. Styron of Rose Hill; three sons, Robert M. Greene of Parkton, Jack C. Greene of Germany and Tim D. Greene of Salisbury; four sisters, Ethelyne Tucker of Oakridge, Tenn., Elizabeth Jones of Fayetteville, Christine Martin of Corona, Calif., and Kelso Stone of West End; and a brother, Charles E. Greene of Pinehurst.

Miss Fisher is survived by a son, Malcolm Fisher of Fayetteville; her mother, Gwendolyn Fisher of Fayetteville; her father, Ervin Sherlock of Bermuda; six sisters, LaShanda Williams, Ethera Fisher, LaShonte Fisher, Angelica Fisher, Tasha Cook and Wincy Sherlock, all of Fayetteville; three brothers, Shawn Fisher, ShaQuan Fisher and Ervin Sherlock Jr., all of Fayetteville; and her paternal grandmother, Wilma Sherlock of Bermuda.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Willie R. Davis of Dunn and Thomas Davis of the home; three daughters, Velma L. Cameron and Gaylena D. Harris, both of Dunn, and Bessie Davis of Bedford, N.H.; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Hazel Junita Colbert, 67, of South Racepath Street, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Ms. Colbert is survived by two sons, Robert ‘‘Tommy’’ Colbert and Charles ‘‘Chuck’’ Colbert, both of Fayetteville; two brothers, Horace Harrelson of Massachusetts and Neil Barnes of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.

HARRELLS -- Charles Fredrick Bryant, 61, of 2744 Delway Highway died Monday in Pender Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his mother, Elizabeth F. Bryant of Harrells; two sisters, Azra B. Johnson of Harrells and Joyce Bryant of Teachey; and six brothers, James Bryant of Hampton, Va., Clyde C. Bryant, Michael H. Bryant, Anthony Bryant and Kenneth E. Bryant, all of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Donald Bryant of Clinton.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons, David McNeill of Cleveland and Sandy McNeill of Hickory; four daughters, Lillian McDougal, Mable McNeill and Georgia Madlock, all of Dunn, and Alice F. McArthur of Fayetteville; three sisters, Gladys Logan and Mable R. Smith, both of Cleveland, and Odelia Cagle of Dunn; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
