PINEHURST -- Warren F. Rother, 86, of Pinhurst died Thursday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Boles Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Rother is survived by two sisters, Jeanette Whyte of Southern Pines and Helen R. Mark of Gloucester, Mass.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.
John W. Oxendine (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)
PEMBROKE -- John Wesley Oxendine, 89, of 8549 Deep Branch Road died Thursday in his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Revels Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Bear Swamp Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Oxendine is survived by four sons, Douglas Hunt and John W. Oxendine II, both of Pembroke, Darryl Locklear of Fayetteville and Jerry Oxendine of Rowland; and two daughters, Margeeita Oxendine of Rowland and Neulla Inman of Lumberton.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Ronald Melvin (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)
ROSEBORO -- Ronald Melvin, 39, of 2407 Old Mintz Road died Thursday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Sam Spring AME Zion Church by the Rev. Orlando Dowdy. Burial will be in Roseboro Cemetery.
Mr. Melvin is survived by his mother, Verlene Melvin of the home.

Jessie McDuffie Jr. (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)
BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Jessie McDuffie Jr., 51, of Brooklyn, formerly of Elizabethtown, N.C., died Friday in Brookside Hospital.

Brian L. Locklear (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)
LAWTON, Okla. -- Brian Larry Locklear, 17-month old son of Sgt. Brian K. and Beth A. Locklear, of 2101 SW 38th St. No. 250, died Thursday in Oklahoma City Childrens Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in New Prospect Methodist Holiness Church in Pembroke, N.C., by the Rev. Willie Scott. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Among Brian’s survivors are his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Shirley and Ronald Jones of Rowland, N.C.; and his paternal great-grandparents, Martha and Alvin Dial of Rowland.
The family will receive friends tonight beginning at 7 at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Pembroke.
Mrs. Sarah B. Krahnke (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)
WHITEVILLE -- Mrs. Sarah B. Krahnke, 74, of 605 N. Madison St. died Thursday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Mrs. Krahnke was a former teacher at Whiteville High School.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Paul D. Woodall Jr. Burial will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McKenzie Mortuary.
Mrs. Krahnke is survived by her husband, A.J. Krahnke Jr. of the home; and a son, A.J. Krahnke III of Whiteville.
The family will receive friends at the home.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Ms. Geneva Jones, 87, of Brooklyn, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Monday.

Ms. Jones is survived by two sisters, Priscilla ‘‘Rose’’ Brown and Marie McMillan, both of Brooklyn; and a brother, James ‘‘Buddy’’ Jones of Washington, D.C.

Ms. Johnson is survived by three daughters, Laura Hinson, Ann Rose and Susan King, all of Four Oaks; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Dudley is survived by his wife, Frances E. Dudley of Brooklyn; a son, Bernard Dudley of California; a daughter, Ruby L. Hollingsworth of Raeford; six stepchildren, Brenda, Stacy, Shareef and Robin, all of Brooklyn, and Jackie and June, both of Raeford; his mother, Katie Dudley of Raeford; five brothers, James Wilson of Brooklyn and Alton Dudley, George Dudley, Tommie Dudley and Larry Dudley, all of Raeford; and four sisters, Gloria Gordon of Jersey City, N.J., Janice Campbell of Brooklyn and Marie Melvin and Brenda Monroe, both of Raeford.
