ROBBINS -- Ralph Eugene Coker, 84, of 5056 N.C. 705 North died Thursday in Manor Care Health Center in Pinehurst.

Mr. Coker was a member of First Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Ernest Ferrell. Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Coker is survived by his wife, Lena M. Coker of the home; two daughters, Shirley C. Mashburn of High Falls and Gail C. Haworth of Greensboro; two sons, Eugene G. Coker of Westmore and Farrell D. Coker of Greensboro; a sister, Louise C. Allred of Ramseur; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Kennedy Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund, P.O. Box 400, Robbins, N.C. 27325; or to Robbins Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 172, Robbins, N.C. 27325.

Ms. Ginger C. Armitage (dated Saturday, July 24, 1999)

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Ms. Ginger Colvin Armitage, 53, of 2328 Longleaf Lane died Thursday in St. Joseph Hospital.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Hillcrest Memorial Park by Dr. John Bryan. Arrangements are being handled by Platt’s Funeral Home.

Among Ms. Armitage’s survivors are her mother, Frances E. Colvin of Fayetteville, N.C.; and a sister, Mamie Bundy of Fayetteville.

Jathan Barrett

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
LILLINGTON -- Jathan Barrett, 80, of Route 5 Bailey-Way Road died Thursday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in Lillington Star Reformed Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Rogers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Barrett is survived by a son, Jathan Barrett Jr. of Hickory.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.

Hakeem Aleem

WEST END -- Hakeem Aleem, 81, of 1255 Juniper Lake Road died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Arrangements will be announced by Simon Funeral Home of Southern Pines.

PEMBROKE -- Robert Revels, 69, of 701 Smith Circle died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Geraldine L. Dresser, 62, of 410 Kramer Road died Saturday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

Arrangements will be announced by Adcock Funeral Home of Spring Lake.

John C. Grace

PINEHURST -- John C. Grace, 81, of Pinehurst died Saturday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Arrangements will be announced by Boles Funeral Home and Crematory.

Miss Jessie Stewart

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
BENSON -- Miss Jessie Stewart, 87, of 876 County Line Road died Thursday in Britthaven of Smithfield.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Dafford Funeral Home chapel in Dunn. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn.

Miss Stewart is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The public will be received Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of James and Meta Cameron, 122 Windy Drive, Willow Springs.

Fitzhugh L. Holder Jr.

Fitzhugh Lee Holder Jr., 78, of Fayetteville, died Saturday in Veterans Affairs Hospital.

ROWLAND -- Harold Jones, 51, of 9204 U.S. 301 South died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

James J. McAllister, 63, of 1914 Newark Ave., Fayetteville, died Friday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Ms. Sara N. James

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Ms. Sara Brooks Nair James, 76, of Spartanburg, formerly of Hamlet, N.C., died Thursday.

Ms. James was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hillside Cemetery in Laurinburg, N.C. by the Rev. E. Douglas Vaughan. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.

Ms. James is survived by five daughters, Dr. Sally N. James of Staunton, Va., Betty J. Montgomery of Spartanburg, Lillian J. Smith of Wilmington, N.C., Virginia J. Shelley of Concord, N.C., and Janet M. James of Raleigh, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 200 Rice St., Hamlet, N.C. 28345; or to Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Va. 24401.

Harold S. Turlington

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
DUNN -- Harold Stuart Turlington, of Dunn died Friday in his home.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Skinner Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Randy Barker and Joseph Ammons. A private burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Turlington is survived by a daughter, June D. Irwin of Enterprise, Ala.; four stepdaughters, Hazel Byrd of Erwin, Edie Rich of Dunn, Joan Stone of Greensboro, and Janie Gonzales of Fayetteville; a son, Harold S. Turlington Jr. of Dunn; two stepson, Dough Lee and Brent Lee, both of Dunn; a sister, Thelma Wilson of Raleigh; a brother, Dr. Eastwood G. Turlington of Rochester, Minn.; and 13 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 at the home.

Herbert Thompson

DUNN -- Herbert Thompson, 88, of 501 E. Divine St. died Friday in Britthaven of Harnett in Erwin.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Dafford Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Marvin Lee. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Sarah O. Thompson of the home; a daughter, Anna A. Davis of Dunn; and two grandchildren.

The public will be received Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mabel D. Parker

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Mabel Downing Parker, 94, of Lumberton died Friday in IHS Carrolton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Antioch Baptist Church by the Revs. Mark Meadows, Mickey Easterling and Darrin Wright. Burial will be in Belch Cemetery.

Mrs. Parker is survived by two sons, Joseph Parker and Bertin L. Parker, both of Lumberton; three daughters, Mary Suggs, Helen Phillips and Lydia ‘‘Dolly’’ Kinlaw, all of Lumberton; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church building fund.

Robert L. Nelson

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
ROCKINGHAM -- Robert L. Nelson, 30, of 112 Stokes Road died Thursday in Richmond Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Ashley Chapel AME Zion Church by the Rev. Donnie L. Pratt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his parents, Robert and Linda Little of Rockingham; three sisters, Marsha Ingram and Cathy Nelson, both of Rockingham, and Natasha Turner of High Point; two brothers, Joerail Little of Rockingham and Robert Little Jr. of South Carolina; and his grandmother, Martha Nelson.

The public will be received today from 1 to 9 p.m. at McEachern Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eladia Rivera

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
Mrs. Eladia Rivera, 93,of 4722 Bent Pine Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements are being handled by Cape Fear Crematory.

Mrs. Rivera is survived by her husband, Jacinto Rivera of Fayetteville; a son, John E. Rivera of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

J.P. Jenrette

(dated Sunday, May 30, 1999)
CHARLOTTE -- J.P. Jenrette, 85, of Wilora Lake Health Care, formerly of Robeson County, died Friday.

Mr. Jenrette was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Asheville. He was a marketing supervisor with the Department of Agriculture before retiring.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Olivet United Methodist Church in Marietta by the Rev. Deborah Watson. Burial will be in Olivet Cemetery. Arangements are being handled by Prevatte Funeral Home.

Mr. Jenrette is survived by his wife, Alice C. Jenrette of Plant City, Fla.; three sons, William T. Jenrette of Asheville, Julius P. Jenrette Jr. of Burlington and James R. Jenrette of Atlanta; a daughter, Betty J. Bradford of Charlotte; a brother, Thomas S. Jenrette of Galax, Va.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday before the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Olivet United Methodist Church or to the Olivet Cemetery, P.O. Box 99, Marietta, N.C. 28382.
