Mrs. Vernie M. Huggins (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Vernie McDaniel Huggins, 95, of Carrolton Retirement Home, formerly of Fairmont, died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Huggins was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairmont.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark E. Gaskins and Dr. Thomas L. Rich. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Fairmont.
Mrs. Huggins is survived by a daughter, Joyce H. Russell of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Jerry E. Hudson (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)
GARLAND -- Jerry Eugene Hudson, 54, of 692 W. Second St. died Sunday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Hudson worked for Lundy’s Packing Co. in Clinton. He was a member of the Garland Volunteer Fire Department.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Parkersburg Baptist Church by the Revs. Roger White and Billy R. Norris. Burial will be in Parkersburg Cemetery.
Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Karon Hudson of the home; three daughters, Lisa Jernigan and Michelle Hudson, both of Garland, and Terra Sumner of Clinton; three sisters, Ruby Weatherington and Lois Wright, both of Roseboro, and Nellie Sullivan of Wilmington; a brother, Jimmy Hudson of Clarkton; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Butler Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkersburg Baptist Church building fund or to the Garland Volunteer Fire Department.
Ms. Judith A. Harmes (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)
LILLINGTON -- Ms. Judith A. Harmes, 52, of Lillington died Thursday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Flatwoods Community Baptist Church by the Rev. Roy McLamb. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg, Fla. Arrangements are being handled by O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.
Mrs. Doretha Hargrove (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)
CLINTON -- Mrs. Doretha Hargrove, 66, of 106 Michael St. died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sandhills Cemetery.
Mrs. Hargrove is survived by a sister, Rethea Jones of Wilson; and a brother, Robert Ayecock of Clinton.
The public will be received today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

FAISON -- Elbert Cox, 80, of 1750 Goshen Church Road died Friday in Cherry Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Bentonville Disciple Church by Bishop E.V. George. Burial will be in Altman Cemetery.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Ann W. Cox; a son, Kenny Cox; five daughters, Dollie A. McLaurin, Martha C. Leach, Linda C. Tate, Shirley C. Egercrue and Miranda Henderson; four brothers, Jasper J. Cox, Billy R. Cox, Wayne Cox and Hubert Cox; three sisters, Louise Jones, Lela M. Cox and Christine Darden; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The public will be received Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.

Clarence E. Davis (dated Tuesday, July 13, 1999)
PARKTON -- Clarence E. Davis, 59, of 2506 Davis Bridge Road died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. Davis was a member of Rockfish Baptist Tabernacle.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Rev. John Willis. Burial will be in the Davis family cemetery.
Mr. Davis is survived by two brothers, Hector Davis of Fayetteville and Tom Davis of Parkton; and a sister, Patricia Adkins of Kenova, W.Va.

Mrs. Cameron is survived by a son, Willie Cameron of Spring Lake; two daughters, Christine McDougald of the home and Mary Ann Howell of Jersey City, N.J.; three sisters, Lizzie J. Davis of Bunnlevel and Lula M. McDougald and Viola McCormick, both of Lillington; a brother, William McDougald of Bunnlevel; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

TANEYTOWN, Md. -- Elliott Gabriel Bespolka Sr. of Taneytown, formerly of Lumberton, N.C., died Saturday.
The funeral will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gaffey Memorial Funeral Home in Medford, Mass. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Boston. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
Mr. Bespolka is survived by his wife, Olga N. Bespolka; a son, Elliott G. Bespolka Jr. of Taylorsville; three daughters, Patricia A. Bespolka of Lumberton, Diane B. Ahlberg of Richmond, Va., and Carol A. Bespolka of Taneytown; a brother, Wasel Bespolka of Florida; and three grandchildren.
