ROCKINGHAM -- Lloyd Ingram, 46, of 107 Stewart St. died Wednesday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Arrangements will be announced by Nelson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mattie E. Hayes (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

CLINTON -- Mrs. Mattie Eason Hayes, 91, of Clinton died Sunday in Mary Gran Nursing Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Sam Springs AME Zion Church by the Rev. Eddie Eason. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by a sister, Pauline Cooper of Clinton; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

Miss Pauletta T. Fisher (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

Miss Pauletta Tuan Fisher, 28, of 1128 Sleepy Hollow Drive, Fayetteville, died Tuesday in her home.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Vance E. Callihan (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

BLADENBORO -- Vance Eugene Callihan, 51, of 202 Byrd St. died Monday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in White Oak Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Carden. Burial will be in Salem Church cemetery in Clarkton. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis-Bowen Funeral Home.

Mr. Callihan is survived by his wife, Doris Callihan of the home; three sons, John Callihan and Heath Callihan, both of Chadbourn, and James Blackwell of Whiteville; four daughters, Angie Callihan of Chadbourn, Joann Guyton and Beverly Blackwell, both of Bladenboro, and Soudra Jones of Fayetteville; two brothers, Terry L. Callihan and Eddie R. Callihan, both of Clarkton; three sisters, Janice Hyatt and Betty Davis, both of Clarkton, and Jackie Smith of Whiteville; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Wade E. Butler (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

LAUREL HILL -- Wade Eugene Butler, 57, of 9760 Old Wire Road died Wednesday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Springfield Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. J.B. Loving. Burial will be in McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville, S.C.

Mr. Butler is survived by a son, Patrick Butler of Hudson; a daughter, Mrs. Johnnie Wright of Conway, S.C.; a brother, Frank Butler of Charlotte; a sister, Ann Gazaway of San Antonio; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Butler Funeral Service.

Ms. Margaret L. Brafford (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

SANFORD -- Ms. Margaret Lindley Brafford, 93, of Third Street died Wednesday in Britthaven Nursing Home.

Ms. Brafford taught art at Central Carolina Community College. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Miller-Boles Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Eric Porterfield. Burial will be in Sandy Branch Baptist Church cemetery.

Ms. Brafford is survived by a daughter, Ann Brinson of Kinston; a son, George Brafford of Broadway; two sisters, Esther Wellons of Victoria, Va., and Sarah Stroupe of Lincolnton; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church building fund, 202 Summitt Drive, Sanford, N.C.

Ms. Lorena N. Bradley (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

LUMBERTON -- Ms. Lorena Nicholson Bradley, 81, of 1913 Lambeth died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. V. Rozier. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ms. Bradley is survived by five daughters, Joyce B. McCullum of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary B. McDonald of Fayetteville, Kay B. Jordon of Lumberton and Patricia Bradley and Janatha H. Miller, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a son, Gregory Bradley of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Bernice Reynolds of Winston-Salem; and three brothers, Elmer Nicholson of Lumberton, Harvey Nicholson of Pembroke and Wordell Nicholson of Buffalo, N.Y.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7 at Central Funeral Home.

Mrs. Margaret Bouldin (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

SANFORD -- Mrs. Margaret Wood Bouldin, 73, of 5009 Rocky Fork Church Road died Wednesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Ephesus Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Morrison. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bouldin is survived by her husband, Harvey Bouldin; three sons, Larry Bouldin and Johnny Bouldin, both of Sanford, and Don Bouldin of Holden Beach; a daughter, Allean Couturier of Sanford; a brother, Joe Wood of Sanford; five sisters, Catherine Coley of Sanford, Joyce Usi and Pauline Turpin, both of Virginia, Betty Kimmer of Foley, Ala., and Linda Barger of Kerr Lake; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Gerald C. Borland (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

LAURINBURG -- Gerald Canon Borland, 87, of Scotia Village died Tuesday in his home.

Mr. Borland taught at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Berea Baptist Church by the Rev. Bruce Swett. Arrangements are being handled by Locklear & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Borland is survived by his wife, Alice M. Borland of Laurinburg; a daughter, Margaret Borland-Gillen of Bethel, Conn.; a son, Andrew C. Borland of Seattle; a sister, Margaret Borland-Hartzell of Redlands, Calif.; and a granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Miami, Fla. 33136-1494.

Mrs. Iona O. Blackman (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

COATS -- Mrs. Iona Overbee Blackman, 85, of Oak Valley Farm Road died Tuesday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dunn.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Smyrna Original Freewill Baptist Church in Dunn by the Revs. Ronnie Hayes and Danny Barrow. Burial will be in Devotional Gardens.

Mrs. Blackman is survived by her husband, William M. Blackman of Lillington; five sons, Earl Blackman, Bobby Blackman and Wayne Blackman, all of Dunn, J.P. Blackman of Burgaw and Stacy Blackman of Coats; three daughters, Patricia ‘‘Jean’’ Watson of Holly Ridge, Doris B. Godwin of Dunn and Judy B. Grimes of Goldsboro; two sisters, Mary Parrish of Angier and Callie Roberts of Benson; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home.

Edward C. Bennett (dated Thursday, July 15, 1999)

DUNN -- Edward C. Bennett, 97, of Dunn, formerly of Erwin, died Tuesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

Mr. Bennett was a member of Erwin United Methodist Church in Erwin.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Price Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Ken Hall. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Cemetery in Lillington.

Mr. Bennett is survived by two sons, Joe Bennett of Pasabana, Calif., and Thomas Bennett of Shino Valley, Ariz.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Annie H. Canady

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Annie Velma Hunt Canady, 78, of 2917 Olive Drive died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Smyrna Baptist Church by the Revs. Graylen Mitchell, Shelley Dial and Horace Oxendine. Burial will be in Robeson Memorial Park.

Mrs. Canady is survived by five sons, Marlon Canady and Graig Canady, both of Lumberton, Michael ‘‘Pee Wee’’ Canady of Charlotte, Craig Canady of San Diego and Ricky Canady of Lillington; a daughter, Deloris Tyler of Lumberton; a brother, Reece Hunt of St. Pauls; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Ms. Mary S. Hooker

LAKE WACCAMAW -- Ms. Mary Simmons Hooker, 94, of Lake Waccamaw died Sunday in Premier Living Nursing Home.

Ms. Hooker was a member of Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tal Madison. Burial will be in Lake Waccamaw Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by McKenzie Mortuary.

Ms. Hooker is survived by a brother, Otto D. Simmons of New Bern; a sister, Katie S. Alport of New Bern; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at 162 Creek Ridge Road, Lake Waccamaw.

Memorials may be made to the Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue Squad.
