RALEIGH -- David Ray Allen, 63, of 1701 Bellmeade St., formerly of Johnston County, died Sunday in his home.
Mr. Allen was an Army veteran.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elevation United Methodist Church in Benson by the Revs. Bobby Smith and Ronnie LaFevers. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Janice D. Allen; two daughters, Terry A. Hobbs and Karen A. Wood, both of Benson; his mother, Mildred A. Howell of Benson; and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and at other times at the home of Terry A. and Robert Hobbs, 1115 W. Pope St., Benson.

Mr. McLamb is survived by his wife, Janifa McLamb; a daughter, Samantha Pope of Coats; a son, Alfred M. Hyatt Jr. of Dunn; two sisters, Ida M. McLamb of Dunn and Rachel Stewart of Florida; two brothers, Danford McLamb of Dunn and Bryan McLamb of Four Oaks; and a grandson.

Mrs. Grethel Mullinax Embler, 71, of 414 Libeth Place, Fayetteville, died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by Pastor David Bibey. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, S.C.
Mrs. Embler is survived by two daughters, Nancy E. Black of Southern Pines and Frances E. Zerbe of Cooper City, Fla.; a sister, Patricia M. Moorhead of Cedar Creek; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Ms. Westbrook is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Rayle of Greensboro and Debbie Wiggins of Clinton; and two brothers, James E. Cain of Greensboro and Thomas A. Cain of West Lake, La.

SANFORD -- Ms. Thelma Arrington Johnson Rickard, 82, of 517 Weatherspoon St. died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Ms. Rickard is survived by three sons, Joe B. Johnson and Ray Johnson, both of Sanford, and Roger Johnson of Lancaster, S.C.; two stepsons, Lowell Rickard and Carroll Rickard, both of Sanford; three stepdaughters, Rae N. Hix of Jamestown, Peggy Aleshire of Trinity and Rita Cameron of Southern Pines; a brother, Fred Arrington of Siler City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class William Robert Smith Jr., 51, of 7021 Timbercroft Lane, Fayetteville, died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith of the home; two sons, Michael Smith and William R. Smith III, both of Fayetteville; a daughter, Wendy Reed of Kansas; two sisters, Roberta Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ethel Smith of Chicago; and a grandchild.

STEDMAN -- Ms. Eula Mae Hairr, 91, of Stedman died Sunday in Fayetteville Health Center.
Ms. Hairr was a member of Baptist Chapel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Edith Florette ‘‘Polly’’ Baber, 69, of 440 N. Grogg St. died Sunday in her home.
Mrs. Baber was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was the head cashier at the Fort Bragg Commissary for 28 years before retiring.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Central Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Brack. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Baber is survived by her husband, Clyde H. Baber Sr. of Spring Lake; two daughters, Barbara Harkey of Spring Lake and Debra Flaningan of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two sons, Clyde H. Baber Jr. of Linden and James H. Baber of Lillington; a brother, Jack Waldron of Hartsville, S.C.; two sisters, Virginia Kohl of Hartsville and Bettie Grainger of Monks Corner, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
