HOPE MILLS -- Robert Elmer Dunham, 75, of 173 Brooklyn Circle died Sunday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Dunham was the former fire chief of Cotton Fire Department.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. James Parks. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mr. Dunham is survived by his wife, Audry Dunham; two daughters, Tammy Kemnetz of Wausau, Wis., and Debra Keesee of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Charles Pope of Somerdale, N.J.; three stepsons, Dennis Walters of Bladenboro, Alvin Walters of Tar Heel and Dale Walters of St. Pauls; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Reeves Funeral Home.

James E. Lamm

(dated Tuesday, May 25, 1999)
HOPE MILLS -- James Earl Lamm, 71, of 5943 Rehobeth Road died Saturday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in LaFayette Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Sherrill Boykin. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.

Mr. Lamm is survived by his wife, Eleanor E. Lamm; two sons, James A. Lamm of Kinston and Richard E. Lamm of Raleigh; two daughters, Vicki L. Bray of San Jose, Calif., and Tammy J. Sees of Fayetteville; three sisters, Peggy A. Boyd of Bailey, Jean Sinclair of Raleigh and Betty L. Elliott of Wilson; a brother, Harold J. Lamm of Wilson; two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Reeves Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, Carolina Chapter, 506 E. Forest Hills Blvd., Durham, N.C. 27707.

Ms. Lillian L. Short

(dated Tuesday, May 25, 1999)
Ms. Lillian L. Short, 87, of 31 Donelson St., Fort Bragg, died Saturday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Arrangements will be announced by Cunningham & Sons Mortuary.

James M. ‘Mike’ Boomer

(dated Tuesday, May 25, 1999)

James Michael ‘‘Mike’’ Boomer, 54, of 6343 Rockford Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday in his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Community Praise Assembly by the Rev. Charles Carter and Donna Clark. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.

Mr. Boomer is survived by his wife, Vicie M. Boomer; three daughters, Jamie Boomer, Donna Godwin and Sandra Boomer, all of Fayetteville; his mother, Louise Boomer of Atlanta; a brother, Morris Boomer of Fayetteville; two sisters, June Corum of Fayetteville and Nancy Luna of Atlanta; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the home.

Robert C. Barnes

(dated Tuesday, May 25, 1999)
Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Robert Carl Barnes, 58, of 5647 Sheraton Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Barnes was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his career he received the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. James Chung. Burial with military honors will be in LaFayette Memorial Park West.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Yong C. Barnes of the home; two sons, Frank Barnes of Raeford and Robert Barnes of Fayetteville; a sister, Isabel Barnes of Michigan; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

William Lockamy Jr., 63, of 5897 Kellys Landing, Fayetteville, is survived by a sister, Francis Summerall of Fayetteville, Ark.

Darrell G. Willett (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

SANFORD -- Darrell Gray Willett, 37, of 399 Willett Road died Saturday in his home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Chapel cemetery by the Rev. Dale Shackleford. Arrangements are being handled by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Mr. Willett is survived by his mother, Mary H. Willett.

The family will receive friends at the home.

Lee D. ‘Red’ Watson Jr. (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

MAXTON -- Lee Douglas ‘‘Red’’ Watson Jr., 66, of 301 E. Martin Luther King Drive died Thursday in his home.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Shiloh Baptist Church by Dr. H.E. Edwards, Evangelist Brenda Fairley, elder Carl Watson and Apostle Larry Watson. Burial will be in McLeod Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Cora L. Watson of the home; three sons, Willie L. Watson, Larry Watson and Carl Watson, all of Maxton; a daughter, Patricia McKoy of Plainfield, N.J.; three sisters, Queen E. Watson, Mary A. Lanier and Bobbie J. Lanier, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, Gilbert Lanier and Ben Lanier Jr., both of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from noon to 8 p.m. at Baker’s Funeral Home.

Odell Washington (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

ROCKINGHAM -- Odell Washington, 81, of 203 N. Skipper St. died Thursday in Palmer Hinson Care Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in McNeill Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. T.R. Harrington. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.

Mr. Washington is survived by a niece.

The public will be received today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard T. Waddell (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

RALEIGH -- Richard Talmadge Waddell, 71, of 3732 Vesta Drive died Friday in Rex Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel in Coats by the Revs. Leon Bizzell and Bill West. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington.

Among Mr. Waddell’s survivors are two daughters, Deborah Livesay of Coats and Gail Gray of Angier.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Judy A. Talley (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

MAXTON -- Mrs. Judy Ann Talley, 43, of 5929 Oxendine School Road died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Cherokee Holiness Methodist Church by the Revs. Jimmy Locklear, Dufreme Cummings, Roy Clark and Donald Bullard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Talley is survived by her husband, Elvin Talley Jr. of Maxton; a son, Christopher E. Scott of Raleigh; two daughters, Alma K. Dial and Victoria Talley, both of Maxton; three brothers, Thurman Scott, Edsel Scott and Stanley D. Scott, all of Maxton; two sisters, Lora Carter of Lumberton and Audrey Brewer of Maxton; and a grandson.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Red Springs Funeral Home.

Darryl Swinson (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

Darryl Swinson, 34, of 507 Harmony Lane, Fayetteville, died Saturday in his home.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Swinson, 3636 Daughtridge Drive.

Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.

Tabitha M. Smith (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

LAURINBURG -- Ms. Tabitha Mitchell Smith, 21, of 507 Pitt St. died Monday in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Bethlehem Baptist Church by the Revs. McGill and Clarence Smith. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by L.E. Floyd Funeral Home.

Ms. Smith is survived by a son, Phillip T. Smith of Laurinburg; her parents, John H. and Genna M. Smith of Laurinburg; three sisters, Shakira Smith, Janice Smith and Bianca Smith, all of Laurinburg; five brothers, John Smith III, Hikeem Smith, Keyoka Douglas, Jarmarcus Douglas and Alphonso Douglas, all of Laurinburg; and her paternal grandparents, John and Opheila Smith and Lillie Mason, all of Laurinburg.

Ruth M. Simpson (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

SANFORD -- Ms. Ruth Matthews Simpson, 89, of 1814 Brookcliff Road died Saturday.

Arrangements will be announced by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

James L. Washington Jr. (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

LAURINBURG -- James L. Washington Jr., 40, of 611 Douglas St. died Wednesday in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Mr. Washington was a member of Mount Scottish Lodge No. 188.

The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Bethlehem Baptist Church by the Rev. Harry McGill Jr. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Washington is survived by a daughter, Quinisha T. Elliott of Laurinburg; three sons, Andre J. Elliott of Charlotte and Levon Washington and Almontre McPhatter, both of Laurinburg; three sisters, Gloria Shaw, Patricia A. Washington and Margaret J. McNair, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five brothers, J.W. Washington, Robert McNeill and Charles Quick, all of Laurinburg, Hervey L. Washington of High Point and Jesse Washington of Raleigh; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Morris Funeral Home.

Ila W. Rambeaut (dated Sunday, August 15, 1999)

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Ila Thomas Wagner Rambeaut, 93, of 131 Marion Lane died Friday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

Mrs. Rambeaut was a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Adcock Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Richard Dorman. Burial will be in Kennebec Cemetery in Wake County.

Mrs. Rambeaut is survived by three daughters, Alease West of Lillington, Elsie Kitchens of Sanford and Mary L. Rhodes of Fuquay-Varina; three sons, Milton T. Rambeaut of Spring Lake and Marvin Johnson and Arvin Johnson, both of Linden; a sister, Macie McLean of Fuquay-Varina; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
