ABERDEEN -- Mrs. Katherine Buchan Whitlock, 80, of Aberdeen died Friday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Page Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Julian Scott. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Powell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whitlock is survived by a son, James B. Whitlock of Southern Pines; a daughter, Kathy W. Lawson of Statesville; a brother, Frank W. Buchan of Southern Pines; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1201 N. Poplar St.

James H. McCoy (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
DURHAM -- James Howard McCoy, 51, of 4006 Branbury Crossing, formerly of Dunn, died Friday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.

Mrs. Edna J. Clark (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
Mrs. Edna Jones Clark, 68, of Route 38, Box 47-B Sewell St., Fayetteville, died Thursday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by the Revs. Roy Clark and Kenney Locklear. Burial will be in Cape Fear Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Clark is survived by a son, Junior Clark of Fayetteville; two sisters, DeLouise Bryant of Fayetteville and Ada B. Jones of Pembroke; a brother, Monroe Jones of Lumberton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times in the home of DeLouise Bryant, Sewell Street, Fayetteville.
Mrs. Emma V. Green (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
CAMERON -- Mrs. Emma Velie Green, 87, of Convalescent Care Nursing Home of Lee County, formerly of Route 2, died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
She was a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Adcock Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. T.J. Fulk. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Green is survived by a son, Harold G. Green of Cameron; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Percy C. Costner (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
Percy C. Costner, 79, of 469 Waterbury Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.
He retired after 20 years as a helicopter pilot and controller for Fort Bragg.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Cumberland Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Jerry Hobson.
Mr. Costner is survived by two daughters, Bonnie C. Moore of Fayetteville and Ladonna Funderburk of Moultrie, Ga.; two brothers, Charles Costner of Lincolnton and William H. Costner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Nell Strickland and Betty Masters, both of Greensboro; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gladys N. Smith (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
Mrs. Gladys Naylor Smith, 76, of Route 5, Box 188-A, Fayetteville, died Friday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Cedar Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Dewey Thomas. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Anthony H. Smith of Fayetteville; three daughters, Glenda S. Horne, Sandra S. Jenkins and Harriet-Jalea Smith, all of Fayetteville; three brothers, Eddie C. Naylor of Fayetteville, Troy T. Naylor of Baytown, Texas, and Homer S. Naylor of Goldsboro; two sisters, Magaline Aiken of Denham Springs, La., and Gwendolyn Burns of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Bessie Jane Ray, 81, of Fayetteville died Friday.

Mrs. Ray is survived by a daughter, Billie C. Thorne of Rock Hill, S.C.; a son, Lawrence E. Ray of Marion, S.C.; four brothers, K.W. Johnson Jr. of Conway, S.C., Eugene Johnson and James C. Johnson, both of Fayetteville, and Jimmy R. Johnson of Aynor, S.C.; three sisters, Geraldeen Melton of Fayetteville, Mildred Dyson of Wilmington and Mary Yaggi of Allendale, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Johnny B. Medlock (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
LAURINBURG -- Johnny Brevard Medlock, 54, of Old Lumberton Road died Friday in his home.
He was a plumber.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wagram Church of God by the Rev. Harry Clark. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Mr. Medlock is survived by his wife, Peggy Medlock of Gastonia; a son, Norman A. Medlock of Gastonia; his mother, Retha Williams of Laurinburg; two brothers, George Medlock of Fayetteville and Roger Medlock of Laurinburg; and a sister, Shirley Shannon of Laurinburg.

LUMBERTON -- Winford Hunt, 66, of Alamac Road died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Mary B. Britt (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
CLINTON -- Mrs. Mary Blue Britt, 77, of 404 E. Powell St., died Friday in her home.
She was a music teacher, a former president of Clinton Woman’s Club and a deacon of Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. William Hawkins. Burial will be in Clinton City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Britt is survived by her husband, Walter T. Britt of Clinton; two daughters, Betty B. Packard of Clinton and Mary A. Adams of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Elizabeth Blue of Parkton; a brother, Lacey Blue of Charlotte; and 11 grandchildren.

Marvin Parsons (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
CLINTON -- Marvin Parsons, 87, of Issac Weeks Road died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Parsons was a farmer. He was a member, a deacon and a Sunday school superintendent for Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church by the Revs. Clyde Shelton, Ed Tatum and R.M. Brown. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife, Eva Parsons of the home; a daughter, Jean Wilson of Faison; three sons, Troy Parsons of Greenville, Texas, M.D. Parsons of Clinton and Jerry Parsons of Broadway; a brother, Pete Parsons of Raleigh; five sisters, Ludie Carroll, Lorene Barefoot and Pauline McLamb, all of Dunn, and Laura Galloway and Helen Smith, both of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Fellowship Hall and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elsie T. Morrison (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
ERWIN -- Mrs. Elsie Temple Morrison, 70, of Erwin, died Saturday.

John G. Thompson (dated Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997)
GREENVILLE -- John Gilbert Thompson, 78, of Greenville, formerly of Laurinburg, died Friday in his home.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a former employee of J.T. John Company in Laurinburg. Mr. Thompson was a retired insurance adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau. He was a member and trustee of St. James United Methodist Church, a member of Mended Hearts and Golden K. Kiwanis and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. James United Methodist Church by the Rev. Woodrow Wells. Local arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home of Laurinburg.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday in Caledonia United Methodist Church in Laurinburg by the Rev. James F. Thompson. Burial will be in the Caledonia United Methodist Church cemetery.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Eloise S. Thompson; two daughters, Nancy T. Efird of Wilmington and Patricia T. Hoban of Greenwich, R.I.; a son, John C. Thompson of Greenville; six sisters, Gladys T. Norton, Ruth T. McIntyre and Lillian Clemmons, all of Laurinburg, Marjorie T. Breeden of Bennettsville, S.C., Katherine T. Summerlin of Indianapolis and Grace T. Royster of Raleigh; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

SANFORD -- Lawrence Jennings Jr., 39, of 1431 Jones Chapel Road died Thursday.

Mr. Jennings is survived by two sons, Lawrence M. Jennings and Sidney Jennings, both of Sanford; his parents, Lawrence and Wilma Jennings Sr. of Sanford; eight sisters, Shirley McAuley, Wilma F. Jennings, Brenda Patterson, Paulette Jennings, Tina Barrett, Beverly Jennings, Tasha Jennings and Tacosha Jennings, all of Sanford; and a brother, Rico Jennings of Sanford.
