ROCKINGHAM -- Charles Edward Price, 40, of 415 Mizpah Road died Monday.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ashley Chapel AME Zion Church by the Rev. Donnie Pratt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Price is survived by five daughters, Kimberly Price and Dorthea Price, both of Rockingham, Monique Price of Midland, and Megan Price and Taylor Price, both of Charlotte; his mother, Dorothy Price of the home; a brother, Karl Price of Charlotte; five sisters, Joann Jones of Morrow, Ga., and Kittie Solis, Sandra Davis, Doris Davis and Shelia Quick, all of Rockingham; two half sisters, Joyce Jackson of Richmond, Va., and Ruby Robinson of Asheboro; and a half brother, Herman Watkins.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at John Charles McNeill Funerals.

Mrs. Nannie G. Blizzard (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

Mrs. Nannie Gaskins Blizzard, 53, of 7006 Darnell St., Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Columbia Highsmith-Rainey Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Blizzard was a schoolteacher for 27 years on Fort Bragg and was a member of Campground United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Campground United Methodist Church by the Rev. George Jones. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery in Reelsboro.

Mrs. Blizzard is survived by her husband, Kenneth P. Blizzard of the home; and a son, Keith Blizzard of the home.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Campground United Methodist Church, 4625 Campground Road, Fayetteville, N.C.

Oscar J. Wooten (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

CAMERON -- Oscar Junior Wooten, 75, of 28 Wooten Lane died Wednesday in his home.

He was an Army veteran and a pipe welder.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant United Church of Christ by the Revs. George Brice and Winfred Bray. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Wooten is survived by two daughters, Droxie Hennings and Janet Simpson, both of Vass; two brothers, Robert Wooten of Greensboro and Elvin Wooten of Uniontown, Pa.; two sisters, Ester Stevens of Greensboro and Nancy Giles of Cameron; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford.

Mrs. Loraine Jackson (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

CLINTON -- Mrs. Loraine Jackson, 65, of 4908 Bonnettsville Road died Monday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Charles McPhail. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Church cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by four daughters, Shelia Jackson of Atlanta, Lahoma Jackson and Elnora Jackson, both of Raleigh, and Frenzie Jackson of Clinton; three sons, Matthew Jackson of Raleigh, Linwood McNeill of Clinton and David Williams of Mt. Olive; two sisters, Flossie Price of Baltimore and Flonnie M. Suggs of Clinton; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sallie J. Jones (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Sallie Mae Jackson Jones, 66, of Laurinburg died Sunday in Edwin Morgan Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Freedom Temple Baptist Church by the Rev. Albert S. Davis. Burial will be in Reedy Creek Church cemetery.

Mrs. Jones is survived by three sons, Alexander Jones Jr. of Brooklyn, N.Y., Robert L. Jones of Laurinburg and Michael Jones of Maxton; a daughter, Teresa Jones of Laurinburg; two brothers, James McKoy of Fair Bluff and Henry Jackson of Laurinburg; two sisters, Recie Williams and Addie McKoy, both of Laurinburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Nannie Y. Holt (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

Mrs. Nannie York Holt, 93, of Route 37-B, 634-A, Fayetteville, died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Rogers & Breece Funeral Home.

John L. Boone (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

GARLAND -- Retired Army Sgt. John L. Boone, 61, of 214 Cain Road died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was a lifelong member of Garland First Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the deacon board, and he was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Garland First Baptist Church by the Rev. Samuel T. McDonald. Burial with full military honors will be in McKoy Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Summerville-Boykin Mortuary.

Mr. Boone is survived by his wife, Dorothy P. Boone; three daughters, Karen B. Hill of the home, and Linda M. Powell and Amy R. Gonzales, both of Fayetteville; a son, Michael T. Boone of West Point, N.Y.; four sisters, Jean B. McKoy and Julia Boone, both of Philadelphia, Katie B. Sanders of Clinton and Retha B. Bulla of Fayetteville; a brother, Henry D. Boone Jr. of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren.

Kenneth P. Nobles (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

BEAUFORT -- Kenneth P. Nobles, 56, of Beaufort, formerly of Southern Pines, died Dec. 11.

Mr. Nobles was an Army veteran and was a personal and property tax examiner. He retired from the Moore County Tax Office.

The funeral was conducted Dec. 14 in Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. Burial was in Bay View Cemetery.

Mr. Nobles is survived by his wife, Margie L. Nobles of Beaufort; his mother, Edna N. Tart of Clinton; his aunt, Grace N. Williams of Southern Pines; and his uncle, W.J. Pridgen of Lumberton.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, or to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Mamie R. Lucas (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. -- Mrs. Mamie R. Lucas, 67, of 205 Willow Ave. died Wednesday in Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital in Rockledge.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by East Coast Cremation of Rockledge.

Among Mrs. Lucas’ survivors is her husband, John E. Lucas, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C.; and a stepson, Ronnie Lucas of Fayetteville.

William R. Lawton Sr. (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

William Russell Lawton Sr., 67, of 7558 Firethorn Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

He retired after 19 years as an electrical technician for Kelly Springfield.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Ronnie Robertson. Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Lawton is survived by his wife, Edna Y. Lawton of the home; a son, Billy R. Lawton of Fayetteville; two daughters, Christy A. Farr of Fayetteville and Susan L. Miller of Hatboro, Pa.; two brothers, Thomas W. Lawton and John Lawton, both of Greenwood, S.C.; a sister, Carolyn Quarles of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Annie W. Rogers (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

SANFORD -- Mrs. Annie Mildred Williams Rogers, 86, of 800 Asbury Church Road died Wednesday in her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in May’s Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by a son, George A. Rogers Sr. of Sanford; a daughter, Helen P. Ellis of Carthage; a brother, Andrew Williams of Bear Creek; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Silas J. Ward (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

WILMINGTON, Del. -- Silas James Ward, 41, of Wilmington, formerly of Johnston County, N.C., died Tuesday.

Arrangements will be announced by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn, N.C.

Mrs. Barbara ‘Dolli’ Dow (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

Mrs. Barbara Louise “Dolli” Dow, 55, of 2706 Fordham Drive, Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

She was an assistant director of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Home Health and Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rogers & Breece Funeral Home chapel by Chaplain Bob Carter.

Mrs. Dow is survived by two daughters, Rebecca L. Dow and Deborah L. Dow, both of Fayetteville; two sons, Michael S. Dow and Robert T. Dow, both of Fayetteville; a brother, David Chatterton of Texas; a sister, Colleen Chatterton of Vermont; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Home Health and Hospice, 1638 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, N.C. 28302.

Mrs. Margie A. Herring (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Margie Atkinson Herring, 64, of Hardin Road died Thursday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Mrs. Nettie W. Phillips (dated Friday, Dec. 19, 1997)

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Nettie Louise White Phillips, 31, of Littlefield Mobile Home Park died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Russell Kinlaw Sr. and Eumenese Dixon. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Gary Phillips of the home; two sons, Joshua D. Phillips and Donnie C. Mayers II, both of the home; her mother, Gladys White of Lumberton; two brothers, Michael White of Lumberton and Moody White of Kinston; and a sister, Brenda W. Raynor of Kinston.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
