LUMBERTON -- Ms. Annette Pittman, 29, of 23 State St. died Tuesday in her home.
She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and a homemaker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Smyrna Baptist Church by the Revs. Charles P. Locklear and James Hunt. Burial will be in Robeson Memorial Park.
Ms. Pittman is survived by a son, Cody W. Williams of the home; her mother, Lettia M. Pittman of Lumberton; and a brother, Bryan K. Pittman of Lumberton.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Roland Byers (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
Roland Byers, 32, of 621 Ames St., Fayetteville, died Tuesday.

Mrs. Cora B. McKinnon (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
Mrs. Cora Blanchard McKinnon, 78, of 891 W. Orange St., Fayetteville, died Dec. 18.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church by the Rev. Cureton L. Jackson. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.
Mrs. McKinnon is survived by two sons, Robert L. McKinnon of Durham and Billy D. McKinnon of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Flossie Baskett of Cleveland; and five brothers, Charles Blanchard and Billy Blanchard, both of Cleveland, Walter Blanchard and John P. Blanchard, both of Las Vegas, and VanHope Blanchard of Fort Collins, Colo.
The family will receive friends Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church fellowship hall. The public will be received today from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.
Mrs. Ernestine Oates (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
HOPE MILLS -- Mrs. Ernestine Oates, 83, of 127 Porter Road died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mrs. Maxine M. McEachin (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Maxine McDougald McEachin, 79, of Route 6, Box 131, died Saturday in Charles Parrish Nursing Center in Dunn.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lillington Star Reformed Free Will Baptist Church by the Rev. G.D. McNeil Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.
Mrs. McEachin is survived by eight daughters, Carrie M. McKoy and Linda F. McLean, both of Lillington, Rosa M. Parson of Hillside, N.J., Annie P. Martin of Landover, Md., Beverly E. King of the home, Mary D. Bass of Fuquay-Varina, Janice T. Walker of Bunnlevel and Sandra Ray of Wake Forest; an adopted daughter, Catherine Cornelius of Sanford; three sons, Donald McEachin of Sanford, Ronald McEachin of South Carolina and Gerald H. McEachin of Lillington; a sister, Dora Barnes of Selma; 39 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Mary R. Taylor (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
TAR HEEL -- Mrs. Mary Robeson Taylor, 91, of Tar Heel died Monday in Providence Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
She was a member of Purdie Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Purdie Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Larry Crane. Arrangements are being handled by McNeill Funeral Home in St. Pauls.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Mary T. Rhodes of Columbia and Mamie T. Craft of Bolivia; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday after the service.

Retired Air Force Staff Sgt. Freddie L. Kelsey Jr., 62, of 825 Montclair Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City, Fla.

Dennis Oliver Freeman, 85, of Route 15, Box 305-C, Fayetteville, died Friday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gray’s Creek Baptist Church in Hope Mills by the Rev. John Troy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Freeman is survived by three daughters, Gladys L. Freeman of Hope Mills, and Hattie M. McKoy and Maggie L. Lesesane, both of Fayetteville; two sons, Raymond Freeman of Fayetteville and Leon “Tap” Freeman of Parkton; two sisters, Ester Devane of Ivanhoe and Lula M. Burns of Fayetteville; two brothers, William Freeman of Fayetteville and James Freeman of Newark, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Hugh B. Williams (dated Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997)
COATS -- Hugh Blake Williams, 67, of 96 E. Williams St. died Tuesday in Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
He was retired from the Army and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Rose & Graham Funeral Home chapel by Elder Fred Williams. Burial will be in the Williams family cemetery.
Mr. Williams is survived by a son, Tony Williams of Coats; two stepsons, Ollin Guy and Robert Guy Sr., both of Coats; four sisters, Imogene Haponski and Madrid Casey, both of Coats, Josie Nash of Duncan and Judy Campbell of Poke City, Fla.; a brother, Barney Williams of Coats; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

SPRING LAKE -- Mrs. Amy Hendren Arrington, 93, of Route 1 died Tuesday in Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home memorial chapel by the Rev. Art Tatem. Burial will be in Mt. Caramel Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Arrington is survived by two daughters, Becky West of Spring Lake and Gaynell Fields of Sanford; five sons, David Arrington of Woodlawn, Va., Lewis Arrington of Stark, Fla., and Bobby Arrington, Herbert Arrington and Jack Arrington, all of Chapel Hill; two brothers, Cecil Hendren of Brookneal, Va., and Austin Hendren of Rougemont; two sisters, Edith Jacobs and Helen Crabtree, both of Bahama; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was owner and operator of B&B Locksmith.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by a son, Scottie Jackson of Lumberton; three daughters, Melinda Gilchrist and Donna Tyner, both of Lumberton, and Kelly Hartline of Laurel Hill; and four grandchildren.
