RICHMOND, Va. -- Donald Wayne McDuffie, 38, of Richmond, formerly of Fairmont, N.C. died Dec. 20 in Richmond.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in Worley Mortuary Service chapel in Fairmont. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Mr. McDuffie is survived his wife, Virginia E. McDuffie; four children, Defrazier W. McDuffie, Phalexia W. McDuffie, Joey R. McDuffie and Dontrell A. McDuffie, all of Boardman, N.C.; his mother, Magaline McDuffie of New York; his father and stepmother, James and Thadis Graham of Fairmont; two sisters, Valerie and Roslyn, both of Bronx, N.Y.; six half sisters, Sharon McNair of Charlotte, Audrey Floyd, Reval Graham and Cedderina Nealy, all of Fairmont, Luvenia Meekins of Manhattan, N.Y., and Jamie P. Graham of Lumberton, N.C.; two half brothers, Reginald Graham of Lumberton and Jason McCallum of Rowland; and his grandmother, Luvenia G. Manning of Rowland.
The family will receive friends today at the home of Mazie Floyd.

ROCKINGHAM -- Mrs. Lessie Smith Evans, 91, of 804 Long Drive died Friday in Windsor House of Rockingham.

Joshua Gillis (dated Monday, Dec. 29, 1997)
Joshua Gillis, 77, of 715 Wilma St., Fayetteville, died Wednesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Dunn by Elder Larry Baker. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.
Mr. Gillis is survived by his wife, Melvina L. Gillis of the home; a daughter, Linda G. Logan of Fayetteville; a son, Larry Gillis of Fayetteville; four sisters, Argether Floyd of Clinton, and Rosa L. Bash, Berline Tyson and Shirley Gillis, all of Long Branch, N.J.; two brothers, Robert Gillis and Ulandcee Gillis, both of Long Branch; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Charlie Jackson (dated Monday, Dec. 29, 1997)
SANFORD -- Charlie Jackson, 70, of Sanford died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lillington Star Reformed Free Will Baptist Church in Lillington. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.
Mr. Jackson is survived by three sons, Willie Jackson and Charlie J. Jackson, both of Lillington, and Milton McNeill of Selma; and a sister, Annie McLean of Lillington.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 7:30 at the church and at other times at the home of Annie McLean, Zenobia Drive, Lillington.
Maxie J. Martin (dated Monday, Dec. 29, 1997)
LAUREL HILL -- Maxie Julius Martin, 59, of 15421 Fork St. died Sunday in her home.
He was a heavy-equipment operator.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Springfield Church of God by the Rev. Dan Carter. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery in Gibson.
Mr. Martin is survived by two daughters, Maxie Phillips and Crystal Phillips, both of Laurinburg; two stepdaughters, Rachel Smith and Jacquelyn Smith, both of Laurel Hill; four brothers, Troy Martin and Bobby G. Martin, both of Laurel Hill, Richard J. Martin of Laurinburg and James T. Martin of Unionville, Va.; a sister, Vickie McPherson of Laurel Hill; and two grandchildren.

RED SPRINGS -- Earl Stone Locklear, 42, of Red Springs died Friday in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.

Mr. Locklear is survived by five sons, Joshua Locklear of Lumber Bridge, Jimmy Locklear and Donald Locklear, both of Lumberton, and Bobby Locklear and Jackie Locklear, both of Fayetteville; two daughters, Alicia Locklear of Dunn and Lizzie Locklear of Autryville; three brothers, Bobby Locklear of Shannon, Donald R. Locklear of Wilson Mills and Toby D. Locklear of Charleston, S.C.; five sisters, Carrie M. Locklear, Katie B. Locklear and Bonnie L. Locklear, all of Shannon, Dora L. Locklear of Richmond, Va., and Brenda Brewer of St. Pauls; and three grandchildren.

She was a member of Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Mrs. Collins is survived by three daughters, Janice Brumbles of the home, Loraine Setzer and Rachel Taylor, both of Conover; two sisters, Lucille Wise of Fairmont and Ruby King of Nichols, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer and a member of New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church by the Revs. Charles Maynor and Anthony Chavis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Oxendine is survived by his wife, Rosa B. Oxendine of the home; two sons, Elery Oxendine of Fairmont and Steve Brewer of Baltimore; four daughters, Cleatis Hunt of Fairmont, Evelyn Locklear of Pembroke, Carol Hunt of Lumberton and Thelma Porter of Fayetteville; a brother, Crawford Oxendine of Lumberton; four sisters, Bert Oxendine and Susie Locklear, both of Raeford, Julia Hunt of Lumberton and Margie Hammonds of Pembroke; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stackhouse is survived by two daughters, Lula Sandiford of Clinton and Bernestine Matthews of Paterson, N.J.; a sister, Flora McNeil of Newburg, N.Y.; a brother, Timmy Newkirk of Newburg; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Ms. Murdock is survived by two daughters, LaTonya P. Starling of Syracuse, N.Y. and Shalana Brown of the home; two sisters, Wilemenia Scriven of Lumber Bridge and Louise Murdock of Syracuse; five brothers, Willie Vereen, Harold Murdock and Larry Pringle, all of Syracuse, and Johnny Pringle Jr. and Billy Pringle, both of Worchester, Mass.; and two grandchildren.

She was retired from Morgan Mills.

Mrs. Ikner is survived by two sons, William R. Ikner of Maxton and Carl “Shotgun” Ikner of Laurinburg; two daughters, Rosalee Thompson of Laurinburg and Annette Skinner of Hickory; a brother, Sam Raspberry of Santa Fe, Texas; two sisters, Flora B. Lewis of Currie and Shelby Worthington of Florence, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
