HALLSBORO -- Mrs. Ruby Mae Robinson, 88, of 1081 Giles Byrd Road died Saturday in her home.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Mt. Hebron AME Zion Church by the Rev. William Ballard. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by a son, Gerald A. Boone of Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Minnie C. Hunter (dated Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997)
DUXBURY, Mass. -- Mrs. Minnie C. Hunter, 84, of Duxbury, formerly of Aberdeen, N.C., died Saturday in Quincy Hospital in Quincy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Southern Pines, N.C. Arrangements are being handled by Boles Funeral Home and Crematory of Southern Pines.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by a sister, Emmeth Striecher of Florida; and two granddaughters.
Carvin F. McLean (dated Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997)
ROSEBORO -- Carvin F. McLean, 64, of 10560 Minnie Hall Road died Monday in his home.

Mrs. Frances A. Castevens (dated Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997)
LITCHFIELD BEACH, S.C. -- Mrs. Frances Ashley Castevens, 79, of Country Club Drive, formerly of Columbus County, N.C., died Friday in her home.
Mrs. Castevens was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Pauls Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island and Litchfield Country Club.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity United Methodist Church in Fairmont, N.C. by the Rev. Henry Flowers. Burial will be in Floyd Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Funeral Services of Fairmont.
Mrs. Castevens is survived by her husband, Jack J. Castevens of the home; a son, Joe Castevens of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Jane Goree of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, James B. Ashley Jr. of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., Chester E. Ashley of Marietta, N.C., and Norman P. Ashley of Fairmont; four sisters, Mary K. Adams of Lumberton, N.C., Jeanette Webster of Fairmont, Margaret Oliver of Marietta and Iola McDonnell of Marietta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall following the burial.

MAXTON -- Mrs. Mildred Mardenbro, 75, of 12350 N.C. 130, died Dec. 23.

Mrs. Lynda Warren Poole, 35, of Fayetteville died Sunday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mrs. Poole is survived by her parents, William C. and Mary D. Warren of Fayetteville; and two brothers, William C. Warren Jr. and James E. Warren, both of Fayetteville.

LUMBERTON -- Tony Irden Evans, 35, of Whiteville Avenue died Sunday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Evans is survived by his parents, Dorothy B. and Albert C. Evans of the home; a brother, Gary Evans of Lumberton; a sister, Kim Ray of St. Pauls; and his paternal grandmother, Attie E. Sealey of Lumberton.

Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Violet B. Ward of Florida and Mary B. Mitchell of Fayetteville; a son, Jack Baucom of Chapel Hill; a sister, Katie Young of Rocky Mount, Va.; a brother, Benjamin McNeill of Vass; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

SANFORD -- Mrs. Aretha McCormick, 74, of 3605 Renee Drive died Thursday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in New Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. E.N. Hooker and Elder Eli Anderson. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.
Mrs. McCormick is survived by her husband, James McCormick of the home; three daughters, Beverly McLean of Sanford, Diane Singletary of Cleveland and Gloria Smith of Springfield, Tenn.; four sons, Robert Singletary, Lynn McCormick and Larry Chalmers, all of Sanford, and Willie Singletary of Atlanta; three sisters, Mamie Murphy and Doll McSwain, both of Sanford, and Eva Posey of Cleveland; four brothers, J.C. Singletary of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Leonard Singletary of Atlanta, Jimmy Singletary of Cleveland and Daniel Singletary of Sanford; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rosie T. Jacobs (dated Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997)
LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Rosie Tyler Jacobs, 89, of 206 Sunset Road, Greenview Acres Community, died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
She was a life-long member of Saddletree Church of God.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Saddletree Church of God by the Revs. Millard Maynard and Eugene Scott. Burial will be in Bethel Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Jacobs is survived by three daughters, Cindy Prevatt of the home, Dorothy Harrelson of Trinity and Faye Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Sanford Jacobs of York, S.C.; two sisters, Mallie Carter of Hope Mills and Pearl Locklear of Raeford; a brother, Joe Tyler of Raeford; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Elias ‘Jake’ Ivey (dated Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997)
HARRELLS -- Elias “Jake” Ivey, 76, of 1090 Bull Trail Road died Monday in his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Center Baptist Church by the Rev. Albert Pope. Arrangements are being handled by Carter Funeral Home of Garland.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Ruby Ivey of the home; three daughters, Jackie Moore and Debbie Blackburn, both of Harrells, and Audrey Cayton of Wilmington; a son, Mark Ivey of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Wiley Ivey of Snow Hill; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today at the home.

KELLY -- James Ely McKoy, 78, of 529 Jim McKoy Road died Thursday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. James AME Zion church in Kelly by the Rev. James Knox. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. McKoy is survived by three daughters, Hazel McKoy of Kelly, Katie Hemingway of Longs, S.C. and Shirley Bessant of Trenton, N.J.; two sons, Charles McKoy of Kelly and James McKoy of Trenton; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The public will be received today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.

GARLAND -- Keith Johnson, 66, of 1400 Old Fayetteville Road died Sunday.
