FAIRMONT -- Harvey Ivey, 71, of 490 Private Road died Monday in McCloud Regional Medical Center in Florence, S.C.
He was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and a retired textile employee and farmer.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Prevatte Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Dallas Morales and Frank Campbell. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Burnell B. Ivey of the home; three daughters, Wanda Stephens of Lumberton, Sally Woble of Danbury and Jenny R. Rivera of Gastonia; two sons, Belton Ivey of Ocean Isle Beach and Henry J. Ivey of Fairmont; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Geraldine Lemmond (dated Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997)
SANFORD -- Mrs. Geraldine Womble Lemmond, 67, of 2100 Hawkins Ave. died Monday in Central Carolina Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Emmanuel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Bill Bateman. Burial will be in Lee Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Lemmond is survived by her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Lemmond; a son, Robert L. Lemmond Jr. of Sanford; her stepfather, Braxton Cole of Sanford; a sister, Frances Blackman of Sanford; a brother, Tommy Cole of High Point; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Marguerite Johnson (dated Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997)
WILMINGTON -- Mrs. Marguerite Bryant Johnson of 1503 Ann St. died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Among Mrs. Johnson’s survivors is a son, Dr. Joseph F. Johnson of Fayetteville.

Floyd C. Barefoot (dated Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997)
DUNN -- Floyd C. Barefoot, 69, of Route 4 died Monday in Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

J.T. Harrington Sr. (dated Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997)
LUMBERTON -- J.T. Harrington Sr., 89, of W. 17th Street died Monday in his home.
Mr. Harrington was an Exxon distributor for more than 40 years. He was a member of the N.C. Petroleum Marketers Association for 25 years and a member of the St. Alban’s Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Mr. Harrington was a member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday school treasurer for more than 30 years.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Chestnut Street United Methodist Church by the Revs. Stan Smith and Herman Winnberry. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Biggs Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrington is survived by his wife, Melba P. Harrington; four daughters, Jean Wall of Memphis, Tenn., Meg McLean of Lumberton, Dee Carr of Tallahassee, Fla., and Malinda Summey of Sanford; a son, Jim Harrington of Lumberton; two sisters, Lance Pearce of Marietta and Sallie Atkinson of Lumberton; a brother, Welton Harrington of Marietta; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the home of Meg McLean, 12 Trinity Drive, Lumberton.

MINT HILL -- Charles W. Freeman, 66, of Mint Hill, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sunday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by McEwen Funeral Home.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Esther Freeman; a son, Charles R. Freeman of Waxhaw; three daughters, Cheryl Piwowarczyk of Charlotte, Cathy Holbird of Charleston, S.C., and Diane G. Nelson of Ladson, S.C.; her mother, Thelma Freeman of Fayetteville; a brother, Edward Freeman of Fayetteville; and seven grandchildren.
Thomas H. Graham (dated Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997)
BENSON -- Retired Marine Staff Sgt. Thomas Harrison Graham, 53, of 103 E. Hill St. died Monday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.
He was an officer for the Smithfield Police Department.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in Price Funeral Home chapel in Erwin by the Rev. Harold Mitchell. Burial will be conducted in Bryan Methodist Cemetery in Alabama at a later date.
Mr. Graham is survived by his wife, Josephine B. Graham; four sons, Robert E. Graham of Birmingham, Ala., Jim Byrd of Plainview, Mark Byrd of Erwin and Johnny Byrd of Dunn; two daughters, Rene Dunn of Birmingham and Caroline B. Barbour of Angier; his parents, James and Ruth G. Boshell; three brothers, Timothy Graham of Dora, Ala., William Graham of South Carolina and Allen Graham of Jasper, Ala.; a sister, Shirley Garrigan of Jasper; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service.

ANGIER -- Mrs. Catherleen Cofield Jones, 68, of 300 Church St. died Monday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cutts Chapel Free Will Baptist Church by Elder Thomas Washington. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn. Arrangements are being handled by Dafford Funeral Home of Dunn.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Andrew Jones Sr. of the home; eight sons, James R. Jones of Garner, Eddie L. Jones of Fayetteville, Andrew Jones Jr., Roy L. Green and Brian K. Jones, all of Angier, and Leland H. Jones, Michael Jones and Maurice Jones, all of the home; two daughters, Linda J. McNeill of Angier and Michelle J. Middleton of Apex; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Miss Melissa B. Thompson (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)
LAURINBURG -- Miss Melissa Brooke Thompson, infant daughter of Sherrie C. Heider and Joseph F. Thompson of Laurinburg, died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Hillside Cemetery by the Rev. Norvin Forester. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by a sister, Elizabeth A. Milligan of Laurinburg; her maternal grandparents, David and Shirley Heider of Wagram; her paternal grandparents, Knox and Rachel Thompson of Maxton; her maternal great-grandmother, Sadie Faulk of Laurinburg; and her paternal great-grandmother, Muriel Clark of Laurinburg.
J. Calvin Pettit (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)
Retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt. James Calvin Pettit, 61, of Fayetteville died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel in Hope Mills by Chaplain Maj. Pineault and the Rev. John Willis. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mr. Pettit is survived by his wife, Marietta Pettit; a son, David Pettit of Parkton; two daughters, Mary Pettit of Hope Mills and Barbara Pettit of Fayetteville; his father, James E. Pettit of Jacksonville; three brothers, Delmer Pettit of East Bend, Jackie Pettit of Pfafftown and David Pettit of Yadkinville; two sisters, Catherine Jackson of King and Geraldine Knight of Winston-Salem; and one grandchild.

VASS -- Mrs. Ocie Patterson McKoy, 83, of 1288 McPherson Road died Monday in Southeastern Regional Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville.
She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Lake First Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church in Spring Lake by the Rev. Greg Carroll. Burial will be in Cypress Presbyterian Church cemetery in Moore County.
Mrs. McKoy is survived by her husband, Dillon McKoy of the home; a daughter, Jennifer M. German of Vass; and a sister, Ometa P. Morris of Spring Lake.

ANGIER -- Mrs. Louise Taylor Mills, 71, of Route 2, Box 173, died Tuesday in Golden Years Nursing Center in Falcon.
She was retired from Cornell Dubilier and was a member of Erwin Church of God.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Erwin Church of God by the Revs. Currie Parker and Jerome Edwards. Burial will be in Harnett Memorial Gardens in Lillington.
Mrs. Mills is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Champion of Angier; a son, Talmadge Mills of Angier; two sisters, Rachel Rowland of Raleigh and Geraline Sullivan of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Oliver L. Taylor of Hampton, Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
