Mrs. Mary E. Farmer (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

SALEMBURG -- Mrs. Mary E. Farmer, 81, of 867 Lakewood Road died Friday in Mary Gran Nursing Home in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Stedman by the Rev. Tracey Burns Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Butler & Son Funeral Home of Roseboro.

Mrs. Farmer is survived by a sister, Katie Gainey of Salemburg, and a brother, Tracey Burns Sr. of Lynn, Mass.

Bobby R. Beasley (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

BENSON -- Bobby Ray Beasley, 50, of 786 Tarheel Road died Tuesday in Good Hope Hospital in Erwin.

He was a member of Barbourtown Church of God and was employed by Larry D. McLamb Drywall Co.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Barbourtown Church of God by the Revs. Billy Ballard, Bobby Caudle and Tim Moore. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife, Phyllis B. Beasley; a son, Terry R. Beasly of Benson; a daughter, Donna B. Baker of Four Oaks; his mother, Gertrude Y. Beasley of Benson; two sisters, Pat B. Parker and Gail B. Williams, both of Benson; and two granddaughters.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home.

Mrs. Delores Simmons (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

Mrs. Delores Ann “Dodi” Simmons, 60, of 6042 Cornish St., Fayetteville, died Tuesday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rogers & Breece Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. T.J. Fulk. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband, Julian Roach of Fayetteville; four daughters, Kimberly Lynch of Arlington, Texas, Kerry McGaw and Julie Roach, both of Fayetteville, and Kristina Olbie of Chicago; three sons, Kelly Simmons of Frisco, Texas, Kenneth Simmons of Wilmington and Kevin Simmons of West End; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Retired Military Association of North Carolina, or to Disabled American Veterans.

Mrs. Dorothy M. Maultsby (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

HOPE MILLS -- Mrs. Dorothy Marciano Maultsby, 69, of 1525 Cameron Road died Sunday in her home.

Mrs. Maultsby was a founding member of the Fayetteville Museum of Art, a member of the Fayetteville Art Guild, and was a founder of Sunday on the Square. She assisted in Market House renovations and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rogers & Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by the Rev. Charles Crumpler III and Father John Durbin. Burial will be in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 4.

Mrs. Maultsby is survived by her husband, Renus Maultsby of the home; a daughter, Cindy M. Burt of Santa Monica, Calif.; two sons, Butch Maultsby of Fayetteville and Jimmy Maultsby of Houston; three sisters, Bumby Serrett of Geneva, N.Y., Eileen Loder of Canton, Ohio, and Margaret Barber of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Tony Marciano of Geneva and Fred Marciano of Seneca, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sudie S. Carter (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

GARLAND -- Mrs. Sudie Smith Carter, 91, of 17 Bladen Ave. died Monday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Church of God Prophecy by the Rev. Newton Anders. Burial will be in Garland Cemetery.

Mrs. Carter is survived by two daughters, Dottie C. Mote of Harrells and Barabara J. Norris of Garland; a son, Lacy Carter of Garland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Foy Cummings (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

PEMBROKE -- Foy Cummings, 89, of Route 1 died Monday in his home.

He was a member of St. Annah Freewill Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Annah Freewill Baptist Church by the Revs. Anthony Oxendine, Alonzo Oxendine, Jimmy Strickland and Dalton Brooks. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Revels Funeral Home.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Hildeth C. Cummings of the home; five daughters, Amelia C. Taft of Las Vegas, Carolyn F. Daniel of Pembroke, Eunice C. Chavis of the home, Louise C. Maynor of Durham and Sally C. Locklear of Maxton; six sons, Carlton Cummings of Charlotte, Timothy Cummings of Las Vegas, Henderson Cummings of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Cummings of Warner Robbins, Ga., Jerry Cummings of Pembroke and the Rev. Michael Cummings of Lumberton; a sister, Crissie Lowry of Pembroke; 39 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 11 at the church.

Mrs. Hagar Russ (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

COUNCIL -- Mrs. Hagar Russ, 81, of Council died Friday in New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Trinity AME Church by the Rev. George Patrick. Burial will be in Carver’s Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Russ is survived by her husband, Chester Russ of the home; five daughters, Geneva Blackman, Aggie M. Freeman and Theresa Graham, all of Council, Lucy Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Barbara Scott of Charlotte; three sons, Verdis Russ of Council, Sidney Russ of Brooklyn and Clarence Russ of Providence, R.I.; seven sisters, Mazella Simpson and Hazel Johnson, both of Council, Ester L. Edmond of New York, Amy Fairweather, Josephine Henry and Lottie Wheller, all of Providence, and Frances Russ of Duquesne, Pa.; and four brothers, Elijah Beatty, Robert Beatty and James Beatty, all of Council, and Gideon Beatty of Dequesne.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Peoples Funeral Home in Whiteville.

William A. Blue (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

CLINTON -- William Arthur Blue, 46, of 1122 Phillips St. died Tuesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Brock Memorial & Worley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Linda Y. Waddell (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Linda Y. Waddell, 55, of Lillington died Monday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

She was owner and manager of an auto parts store in Fayetteville and Florence, S.C.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home chapel by the Revs. Craig McLeod and Brian Kenlaw. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Fuquay-Varina.

Mrs. Waddell is survived by a son, Joey Waddell of Fayetteville; two daughters, Tammy W. Taylor and Lisa W. Huggins, both of Lillington; her mother, Aileen Truelove of South Carolina; two brothers, Jerry Yarborough and Prentice A. “Junior” Yarborough, both of South Carolina; two sisters, Ruby Y. Barbour of Four Oaks and Cathy Y. Cantey of South Carolina; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Willie Graham (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Willie Graham of Hartford, formerly of Raeford, N.C., died Friday.

Arrangements will be announced by L.E. Floyd Funeral Home of Red Springs, N.C.

Miss Emmer Locklear (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

MAXTON -- Miss Emmer ‘Mem’ Locklear, 87, of Route 3, Box 149, died Tuesday in her home.

Arrangements will be announced by Thompson’s Funeral Home of Pembroke.

Roy Locklear (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

SHANNON -- Roy Locklear, 56, of Shannon died Monday in his home.

Arrangements will be announced by Thompson’s Funeral Home of Pembroke.

Floyd C. Barefoot (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

DUNN -- Floyd Collins Barefoot, 69, of Route 4 died Monday in Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

He was a retired electrician for Burlington Industries and an Air Force veteran.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Erwin Church of God by the Rev. Currie Parker. Burial will be in Devotional Gardens.

Mr. Barefoot is survived by his wife, Ellen J. Barefoot of the home; two sons, Floyd E. Barefoot and Randy B. Barefoot, both of Dunn; a daughter, Sharon B. Vowell of Dunn; a brother, John J. Barefoot of Wade; two sisters, Mamie B. Sills of Dunn and Lela B. Smith of Colonial Heights, Va.; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Walter H. Robinson (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

CLINTON -- Walter H. Robinson, 72, of 402 Goldsboro Road died Tuesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Robinson was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and Hiram Lodge No. 98 A.F. & A.M. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired mechanist.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Grove Park Baptist Church by the Revs. Michael Shook and Eddie Wetherington. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Sallie S. Robinson; a daughter, Rita Corbett of Clinton; three sons, Walter T. Robinson of Clinton, Jimmy R. Robinson of Wilmington and Carol G. Robinson of Garland; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Royal-Hall Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

William ‘Billy’ Thompson (dated Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997)

BELOIT, Wis. -- William B. “Billy” Thompson, 62, of Beloit, formerly of Red Springs, N.C., died Monday in his home.

He was retired from General Motors Corp. in Janesville, and was an Army veteran.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in Central Christian Church in Beloit by the Rev. Norman Starks. A service will be held in Oakridge Cemetery in St. Pauls at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Gail Thompson; a daughter, Debbie Reid of Beloit; two sons, Terry Thompson of Madison and Michael Thompson of South Beloit, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Jamie Dickerson of Beloit; two brothers, James W. Thompson of Elizabethtown, N.C., and LeRoy Thompson of Clarkton, N.C.; two sisters, Daphene Shaw of Rex, N.C., and Elizabeth Dix of Fayetteville, N.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
