Mae Baise
PELHAM, N.C. - Mae Keatts Baise, 91, 3123 Law Road, died Monday, May 12, 1997.
Born in Rockingham County, she was a daughter of James C. and Myrtie Sue Baise Keatts.
She was married
to Robert Jennings Baise, who died in 1977.
She had spent most of her life in the Pelham community, where she was a member of Pelham United Methodist Church.
A former employee of Pelham Elementary School, she was a homemaker, a volunteer foster parent and a retired farmer.
Survivors include three daughters, Anna M. Baise of the residence, Myrtie B. Guill of Providence and Lillie B. Jones of Mebane; two sons, William Robert "Bob" Baise of Ruffin and John Daniel Baise of Pelham; a stepdaughter, Nancy Baise Pitts of Greensboro; a sister, Carrie K. Layne of Reidsville; a brother, Ernest Keatts of Reidsville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Carrie B. Cook, who died in 1991.
A graveside service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pelham United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Michael B. Harrill.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at Citty Funeral Home in Reidsville, and other times at the residence.
Leroy "Roy" Graves
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Leroy "Roy" Graves, 170 Hwy. 62 South, died Tuesday, May 13, 1997, in Pell Care Nursing Home of Winston-Salem.
Born Sept. 22, 1906, in Caswell County, he was a son of Thomas Day Graves and Earline Lownes Graves.
He was married
to Ira Williamson, who predeceased him.
He was a member of Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian at the old Bank of Yanceyville.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday from Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Melvin Paylor. Burial will be in the Pearson Chapel AME Church Cemetery.
The body may be viewed 2-8 tonight at Fulton Funeral Home in Yanceyville.
Alease Poteat
MILTON, N.C. - Alease Poteat, 9071 Hwy. 62 North, died Friday, May 9, 1997.
Born in Caswell County, she was a daughter of Anderson and Addie Long.
She was a member of River Zion Baptist Church.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Danville Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two sons, Harvey L. Poteat of Blanch and Harry Poteat of Danville, Va.; two daughters, Vera Ware of Reidsville and Shirley Dunston of Seabrook, Md.; a foster son, Alvin Keen of Victoria, Va.; a brother, Willie Long of Blanch; two sisters, Mariah Long of Milton and Marie Robertson of Yanceyville; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday from River Zion Baptist Church in Blanche by the Rev. Tyrone Thornton. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden on Hwy. 58 East in Danville.
The family will receive friends 7-8 tonight at River Zion Baptist Church.

Bertie Rowland
DANBURY, N.C. - Bertie Clyde Rowland, 67, Route 1, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, in his residence.
Born Jan. 6, 1930, in Halifax County, he was a son of Douglas Marion and Mary Ionia Davis Rowland.
He was married
to Lorene Priddy Rowland, who survives.
During the Korean Conflict, he served in the Army.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Kobe Copper Products.
He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include two sisters, Addie Wiley of Providence and Ruby Riddle of Danville, Va.; and two brothers, James O. Rowland of Kennett, Mo., and Troy Rowland of Ringgold, Va.
The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Danbury by Elder John Calhoun, Elder Danny Smith and Elder Clarence Bowman. Burial will be in North View Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
Mary Bigelow
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Mary Edna King Bigelow, 275 West Bend Road, died Friday, May 16, 1997, in her residence.
Born Jan. 21, 1901, in Rockingham County, she was a daughter of Perrian and Jennie Bett Palmer King.
She was married
to Robert Henry Bigelow, who predeceased her.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pearson Chapel AME Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Perrian Bigelow and James Odell Bigelow, both of Yanceyville; two daughters, Irene Bigelow Brooks of Danville, Va., and Edna Florence Bigelow of Yanceyville; a sister, Grace Mills of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday from Pearson Chapel AME Church by the Rev. George Turner. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body may be viewed 2-8 tonight at Fulton Funeral Home in Yanceyville.

Pryor Millner IV
MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Mr. Pryor Reynolds Millner IV, 60, of S. Magnolia St., died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, while on a company trip with Burlington Industries in India.
Born on Jan. 27, 1937, in Leaksville, he was a son of Pauline Gearheart Millner Alsop, of Concord, and the late Pryor Reynolds Millner III.
Mr. Millner was a 1960 graduate of Duke University. He was hired by Burlington Industries
Mooresville Plant on June 24, 1968, as department manager in preparation area. Mr. Millner was at the Erwin Plant from 1973 until 1977, having held superintendent of dying and finishing and plant manager positions.
From 1977 until 1980, he was assigned to the Ireland Plant as general manager. From 1980 until 1982, he was denim quality control manager at Burlington Corporate Headquarters, Greensboro. In 1982, he returned to the Mooresville Plant as plant manager and division manufacturing manager until 1993. He then held the position of division technical coordinator until 1996. In early 1996 until presently he was manager of International Manufacturing - India Project.
He was well known throughout the textile industry, especially recognized for his knowledge in denim manufacturing. His knowledge and expertise were instrumental in moving Burlington Industries Denim into the global denim manufacturing market.
Mr. Millner was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Mooresville/South Iredell Chamber of Commerce, the Mooresville Rotary Club, Lions Club and the Advisory Board of Lincoln Bank. Mr. Millner was a former executive board member of the Piedmont Council Boy Scouts of America. He served on BURL-PAC Board of Directors.
Mr. Millner was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Mooresville.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Millner is survived by his wife, Barbara Reaves Millner; a son, Pryor "Joe" Reynolds Millner V and his wife, Lauren, of Huntersville; a daughter, Sondra M. DeVincenzo and her husband, Bruce, of Wake Forest; two brothers, Paul Millner of Stafford, Va., and James Millner of Midlothian, Va.; a sister, Mildred Alvarez of Berkley, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Lindsey Millner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Central United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Dr. Richard D. Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 1997, at Cavin Funeral Home, Mooresville.

Rev. Curtis Harrington
RALEIGH, N.C. - The Rev. Curtis McNutt Harrington, 80, a retired Baptist minister of 47 years, died Friday, May 23, 1997.
The funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah N. Harrington; a daughter, Ann Carr of Stockton, Calif.; a son, James P. Harrington of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Chris Carr of Valley Springs, Calif., Gayle Wooten of Apex and Lee Harrington of Raleigh; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annie Maude Collins of Madison and Nan Terrell of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Harrington, 5505 Fallen Leaf Court, Raleigh.

Ethel Jones
PELHAM, N.C. - Ethel Lynn Jones, 76, of 10876 N.C. 700, died Friday, May 23, 1997, in the Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
Born June 5, 1920, in Durham, she was a daughter of Christopher Claude Lynn Sr. and Della Hutchins Lynn.
She was married
to Wingate Randolph Jones, who died May 2, 1994.
She was a resident of Pelham for the past 38 years. She was employed with Danville Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1979.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Philathea Sunday School Class. She was also a volunteer for the Rockingham County Council on Aging.
She is survived by four sons, Randolph Jones of Reidsville, Gary Jones of Gibsonville, Tommy Jones of Butner and Robert Mitchell of Salt Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Louise Albright of Seattle; seven brothers, Claiborne Lynn of Asheville, George R. Lynn of Hampton, Va., David Lynn of Orlando, Fla., C.C. Lynn Jr. and Samuel J. Lynn, both of Durham, Franklin R. Lynn of Hillsborough and Victor B. Lynn of Raleigh; a sister, Juanita Mullen of Durham; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday from the First Baptist Church, Danville, Va., by the Rev. Joe Northen. Interment will be in the Dan River Cemetery in the Mayfield community.
The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home, Danville, Va., tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
Myrtle Bradley
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Myrtle Ruth Shearin Craven Bradley, 92, died Sunday, May 25, 1997, in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 1997, at Lee-Mont Cemetery in Danville, Va.
Myrtle was a former resident of Danville and Winter Park, Fla.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Craven Walters of Greensboro; her sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Dorsey Bray of Martinsville, Va.; her granddaughter and husband, Shearin W. and M. Lee Wimbs of Greensboro; and her grandson and wife, Charles Bradley Thomas and Jodi Walters of Greensboro.
Myrtle is also survived by her great-grandsons, Marcus L. Wimbs of Denver, Colo., and C. Michael Wimbs of Greensboro; and her nieces and nephews, Stewart and Shirley Bray and Peter and Dale Castiglione, all of Danville.
