Norma Davis
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Norma Adams Davis, 71, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, in Moses Cone Hospital.
She was married
to Zachary Neal Davis Sr., who survives.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include two sons, Zachary Neal Davis Jr. and Johnny Allen Davis, both of Greensboro; two daughters, Joy Davis Maynor and DeRidder Case, both of Greensboro; two sisters, Joyce Reynolds of Danville, Va., and Carolyn Page of Greensboro; a brother, Irving Adams of Greensboro; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday from In Touch Fellowship Ministries.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service, and other times at the residence.
Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel of Greensboro is in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Lewis
SEMORA, N.C. - Thelma Wilkerson Lewis, 85, 54 Tarheel Lane, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
A native of Keeling, Va., she was a daughter of Henry D. and Rosa Lee Doodson Wilkerson.
She was married
to Gordon Lewis, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Milton.
She was formerly employed by Gordon's in Roxboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lewis Lifsey of Sanford; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday from Brooks & White Chapel in Roxboro by the Rev. John Warner and the Rev. Joe Grubbs. Burial will be in Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery in Semora.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Hazel Pruett
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Hazel Dix Pruett, 61, 1904 Dockery Road, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, in her residence.
She was born in Danville, Va.
She was married
to Eugene Page Pruett, who survives.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 254 and a member of the Eden Women of the Moose.
She was owner of G&H Auto Supply in Reidsville.
In addition to her husband of the residence, survivors include two sons, Jack Neal Hamilton of Duncan, S.C., and Gary Dean Hamilton of Ruffin; a daughter, Robin Darlene Hamilton of Kernersville; a stepdaughter, Page Pruett Coker of Pinehurst; a brother, William Ervin Dix of Lynch Station, Va.; three sisters, Helen D. Mabe of Reidsville, Evelyn A. Wheelon of Black Mountain and Brenda D. King of Jamestown; and three grandchildren; Tommy Neal Hamilton, David Trey Coker and Heather Marie Hamilton.
She was also predeceased by a son, Danny Keith Hamilton.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday from Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.

Martha Hodges
DURHAM, N.C. - Martha Alise Hodnett Hodges, 94, a resident of 1013 Englewood Ave., died on May 28, 1997, after several years of declining health.
Born on Feb. 26, 1903, in Halifax County, Va., she was the daughter of James D. Hodnett and Ella Reeves Hodnett.
She attended Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. She also studied piano at Schemmel Conservatory of Music in Farmville.
She taught school for several years in Halifax County.
In 1928, she was married
to Samuel Carter Hodges, also of Halifax County. They afterward made their home in Durham.
She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church in Elmo, Va. In Durham she attended First Baptist Church, and was later a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Glendale Heights United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Samuel C. Hodges Jr., and daughter-in-law, Doris Moore Hodges of Durham; five grandchildren, Doris H. Connell of Greenville, Kathryn G. Hodges of Chapel Hill, Susan H. Parham of Durham, Virginia L. Hodges of Columbia, S.C., and Samuel C. Hodges III of Charlotte. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia H. Morgan of Montpelier, Va., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, with the Rev. Edward F. Bogie officiating.
The family will receive friends at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service 7-9 tonight, and other times at the home of Susan and Kenneth Parham, 4214 Lazyriver Drive in Durham.
Flowers are acceptable, as well as memorial gifts to Glendale Heights United Methodist Church and Arbor Baptist Church, River Road, Sutherlin, Va.
Bryan Holt
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Bryan Zachary Holt, 11, 908 Superb Drive, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, in Duke Medical Center.
He was the son of Major and Mrs. Daniel Holt, U.S. Air Force, who survive.
He was a student at Eastover Central Elementary School. He received the Presidential Award for Academics at Pope Elementary School, where he also received a computer award.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of the Rockies Baseball Team.
In addition to his parents of the residence, survivors include a brother, Kyle Holt of the residence; his maternal grandmother, Jo Scearce of Fayetteville; his paternal grandparents, Warren and Clair Holt of Wilmington; and his maternal great-grandmother, Louise Wilson of Danville, Va.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday from Trinity Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy White, the Rev. James Scales and the Rev. Jim Wall.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Philip Jackson
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Philip Malcolm Jackson, 72, 1908 Belmont Drive, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rockingham County, he was a son of George W. and Bertha Jones Jackson.
He was married
to Geneva Underwood Jackson, who survives.
He spent his entire life in Reidsville.
He was the retired president of Virginia Leaf and Winston Leaf Tobacco Companies, former subsidiaries of Universal Leaf Tobacco Co. of Richmond, Va.
He was past president of the Reidsville Jaycees and a member of Pennrose Park Country Club.
He was also a member of First Congregational Christian Church, where he served as deacon, a Sunday school teacher, chairman of the planning committee for the new church building, and on other various committees.
During World War II, he served in the Army and was a German prisoner of war.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include two daughters, Edna Faye Diachenko of Yadkinville and Neva Jane Cresenzo of Reidsville; a brother, G. Wilson Jackson of Reidsville; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. today from First Congregational Christian Church by the Rev. Dan Jones. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence.

Marjorie Clapp
BURLINGTON, N.C. - Marjorie Hinton Clapp, 86, 434 Parkview Drive, died Friday, May 30, 1997, in White Oak Manor, following a year of declining health.
Born in Halifax County, she was a daughter of John William Hinton and Ada Shackleford Hinton.
She was married
to George Willard Clapp, who predeceased her.
She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for Neese-Shoffner Furniture Co.
She is survived by a nephew and two nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Poteat, and six brothers, T.A. Hinton, Fred Hinton, Harry Hinton, Ralph Hinton, Jim Hinton and Charles Hinton.
The funeral will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday from Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Philip Myers. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 tonight and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Percy Thompson
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Percy Garland Thompson, 85, died Thursday night, May 29, 1997, in the Brian Center.
Born April 12, 1912, in Climax, Va., he was a son of James Thompson and Mary Bolling Thompson.
He was married
to Nettie Saunders Thompson, who died in 1981.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Welcome Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley T. and Roy Jones of Danville, Va.; one sister, Irene Eagenhart of Bedford, Va.; and one granddaughter and her husband, Rhonda and Brett Holley of Danville.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Ola T. Watson, who died in 1991; and five brothers, Russell Thompson, Noel Thompson, Raleigh Thompson, Onyx Thompson and Willie Thompson.
The funeral will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday from Townes Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Hussey. Burial will be in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery on Park Springs Road.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, 97 Baltimore Ave., Danville.
