Garland Bunton
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Garland Baxter Bunton, 66, 814 Cole St., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, in Cone Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday from Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Mr. Bunton was a native of Guilford County and a member of Northeast Baptist Church. He was a service manager for North State Electronic Service. He graduated from Bessemer High School in 1949 and served as a corporal in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953.
Among his survivors are his wife, Doris Manuel Bunton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael B. and Deborah Yow Bunton of Greensboro, and Stephen P. and Cheryl D. Bunton of Reidsville; a daughter, Patricia L. Bunton of Danville, Va.; brothers, Raymond Bunton and wife, Alice, of Thomasville, Richard Bunton and wife, Martha, of Pleasant Garden, Butch Bunton and wife, Bonnie, of Pleasant Garden; sisters, Lillian Bunton and Betty Bunton, both of Pleasant Garden, and Mary Reid and husband, Charles, of Pleasant Garden; and four grandchildren, Nicole, Angela and Laurin Bunton and Ashley Carter.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home.

Inez Bray
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Inez Pruitt Lovelace Bray, 71, 1065 Garrison Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1997, in her residence.
Born in Pittsylvania County, Va., she was a daughter of John A. and Carrie Chaney Pruitt.
She was married
to Paul Wellsley Bray Sr., who predeceased her.
She was a charter member of Guerrant Baptist Church in Camp Springs. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Burlington Mills for over 20 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula D. Bray of the residence; a son, Paul Wellsley "June Bug" Bray Jr. of Reidsville; two brothers, Hugh Pruitt of Reidsville and David Pruitt of Eden; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dood Lovelace; a daughter, Judy Page; two brothers, Pop Pruitt and Tootsie Pruitt; and a grandson.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday from Lawsonville Road Baptist Church. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at Wilkerson Funeral Home of Reidsville, and other times at the residence.
Princella Chandler
EDEN, N.C. - Princella Mae Chandler, 97, 1143 Carolina Ave., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, in Morehead Nursing Center.
A native of Fries, Va., she was a homemaker and a member of Draper Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Edwards of Axton, Va., Mildred Rakes Ellicott of Hampton, Va., and Edith Spain of Eden; a son, Curtis Eugene Chandler of Danville, Va.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Clayton Chandler and Earl Chandler.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday from Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Dan View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence.
Morris Koch
MILTON, N.C. - Morris Wetherill Koch, 60, 30 William Barker Road, died Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, in his residence.
A native of Lehigh County, Pa., he was a son of Myrtle Trump, who survives, and Frederick J. Koch Sr.
He was married
to Daisy Mae Holbrook Koch, who survives.
He served in the Marine Corps for four years and the Army for seven years.
He was employed by Commercial Construction Co. as an iron worker.
He was also a member of Westside Moravian Church in Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include a son, Kenneth R. Koch of Milton; three stepsons, Thomas W. Oakley of Milton, Michael E. Oakley of Semora, and John L. Oakley of Oxford; two brothers, Frederick J. Koch Jr. and Robert R. Koch, both of Bethlehem; a sister, Jean Koch Neith of Bethlehem; and two stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday from Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel in Roxboro by the Rev. Herman Chambers. Burial will be in the Holbrook Family Cemetery in Milton.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 tonight and Monday at the funeral home.
Mildred Yow
RANDLEMAN, N.C. - Mildred Williamson Yow, 83, 3672 Malibu Palms Drive, Virginia Beach, Va., and formerly of Randleman, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, in Lynn Shores Manor of Virginia Beach.
She was a native of Montgomery County.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by A & F Vending Co.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Thomas of Randleman, Sandra Hall of Virginia Beach, Shirley Ford of Lumberton, and Jessie Dennis of Troy; two sons, Eugene Yow Jr. of Chocowinity and Jerry Yow of Danville, Va.; three sisters, Marie Duggins, Jessie Duggins and Frances Bowman, all of Randleman; a brother, Earl Williamson of Seagrove; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday from Pugh Funeral Home Chapel in Randleman by the Rev. Lee Church. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
The family will receive friends 7-9 tonight at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of a daughter, Peggy Thomas, 332 East Naomi St., Randleman.
Deedie Lewis
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Deedie Lewis, 116 Deer Trail Road, died February 26, 1997.
He was born Sept. 7, 1945.
He will always be remembered for his many talents, such as brick masonry and rock laying. He was employed at Lowe's in Reidsville.
He will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by Nancy Lewis; his son, Eston L. Lewis III, his daughter-in-law, Jamie Price Lewis; a grandson, Eston L. Lewis IV; a granddaughter, Emily Louise Lewis; his only sister, Bertha Lee Adkins, and her husband, Wayne O. Adkins Sr.; his nephews, Buddy Adkins and Lee Adkins, and their children, Lauren Adkins, Nadine Adkins, and Jessica Barker; and his aunt, Lola Tanis.
Other surviving members include Connie Bowling, Debbie Jones, Kimberly Altizer, Kristin Jones, and John R. Bowling, all of Reidsville.
He will also be remembered by his closest friends, Leon Griffin, Jerry Hayes, and by his dog, "Griff."
Ulysses Long
MILTON, N.C. - Ulysses Long, 75, 147 Hudson Road, died Friday, Feb. 28, 1997, in Brandywine, Md., at the residence of his son.
Born Sept. 29, 1921, in Caswell County, he was a son of Addie and Anderson Long.
He was married
to Annie Long, who predeceased him.
Survivors include a son, Irvin Long of Brandywine; a daughter, Lenora Branch of Olney, Md.; three sisters, Alease Poteat of Milton, Mariah Long of Blanch and Marie Robertson of Yanceyville; a brother, Willie Long of Blanch; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday from Hamer Baptist Church by the Rev. Cephus Lea. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Danville, Va.
The body may be viewed from noon until 8 tonight at Plenty Funeral Home Chapel, Semora.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Annie Daniel
Annie Maie Daniel, 84, formerly of 124 Gatewood Ave., Providence, N.C., died Thursday, March 6, 1997, in Riverside Nursing Center.
Born April 27, 1914, in Caswell County, N.C., she was a daughter of Nathaniel Crumpton Hodges and Mary Elizabeth Gunn Hodges.
On April 22, 1937, she was married
to Burroughs Asa Daniel, who predeceased her.
She was a volunteer in the Girl Scouts as a nurse.
She graduated from Cobb Memorial High School in Ruffin, N.C., and from Memorial Hospital of Danville as a registered nurse.
She worked as a private duty nurse for many years. She was also cafeteria manager at John L. Berkley Elementary School and Bartlett Yancey High School.
In her early life, she was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and president of the United Methodist Women. She later became a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Ann Daniel Delohory of Marietta, Ga.; and a sister, Elizabeth H. Underwood of Providence.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Richard Nathaniel Hodges.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday from Providence Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Clark and the Rev. Doug Murphy. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her sister, 10822 Highway 86, Providence, and at the residence.

Martha Stephens
BLANCH, N.C. - Martha James Stephens, 61, of 1383 Longs Mills Road, died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born June 24, 1935, in Caswell County, she was the daughter of Alvis James Sr. and Louise Henderson James.
She was married
to Thomas Glenn Stephens of Milton. She was a member of the usher board, kitchen committee and missionary board of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Judy Smith, Emma Baynes and Stella Fitz, all of Danville, Va., Janet Stephens and Joan Hunt, both of Blanch, and Kimberly Stephens of Milton; three sons, Herbert James of Danville, John James of Eden, N.C., and Oscar James of Danville; two sisters, Cora L. James and Rosa Corett, both of Danville; two brothers, Woodrow James Sr. and Jack James, both of Pelham, N.C.; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Providence, N.C., by Pastor Paul Jackson. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Fisher & Watkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
