Pauline Dew
EDEN, N.C. - Pauline McDaniel Dew, 74, of 630 Prospect St., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.
Born in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of Luzanie Portis McDaniel, who survives.
She was a member of Dan River Wesleyan Church and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills.
In addition to her mother of Eden, survivors include two sons, David Dew of Danville, Va. and Louis Dew of Reidsville; eight sisters, Mamie Taylor of Cascade, Va., Margaret McDaniel of Ruffin, Ruth Carmon of Gibsonville, Kathleen Lovings and Nora Wolfe, both of Greensboro, Carrie Branch of Goose Creek, S.C., and Hershey Caillouet and Lalia Wilson, both of Eden; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
Cora Barbour
RUFFIN, N.C. - Cora Bell Barker Barbour, 89, 7912 Park Springs Road, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, Va.
Born April 19, 1909, in Lynchburg, Va., she was the daughter of Robert Henry Barker and Lucy Selessie Howell Barker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was married
to Acie Clifton Barbour Sr., who died in 1951. Survivors include four daughters, Gertrude L. Hamm and Judy Wilborne, both of Danville, Barbara Scott of Ferrum, Va., and Janet Jones of Martinsville, Va.; two sons, Wayne Barbour of Ruffin and Acie C. Barbour Jr. of Danville; one sister, Lizzie Cunningham of Salem, Va.; one brother, William "Bill" Barker of Winston-Salem, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy Roark.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Barker Funeral Home with the Rev. Carolyn Winstead officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the chapel of the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
Robert Little
ROXBORO, N.C. - Robert Lee Little, 81, of 1612 Shotwell St., died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Born June 20, 1917, in Person County, he was the son of Marvin Little and Emma Young Little. He was a retired farmer and a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church. He was a charter member of Virgilina, Va., Volunteer Fire Department, where he was an active member for 39 years.
In addition to his wife, Martha Wilson Little of Roxboro, survivors include two daughters, Betty Long and Bernice Snead, both of Roxboro; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Florence Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Keen and the Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial will be in the Olive Branch Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at Brooks Funeral Home in South Boston and at other times at the residence of Danny and Elizabeth Pulliam, 225 Montpelier Ave., Roxboro.
Cora Barbour

Annie Mundy
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Annie Laura Mundy, 78, formerly of 190 Conner Road, Reidsville, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, at the Brian Center in Yanceyville.
Born in Tarboro, N.C., she was married
to O.T. Mundy, who predeceased her.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Overby of Winston-Salem and Elizabeth Farmer of Yanceyville; two sisters, Ellen Rafael of Dunwoody, Ga. and Marie Correal of Silver Springs, Md.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Jarvis and the Rev. Charles Adams officiating.
Burial will be in the church cementary. The family will receive friends at Salem United Methodist Church today from 6-8 p.m.
Martha McCollum
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Martha Lillian Hill McCollum, 76, of Winston-Salem, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Born Jan. 19, 1922, in Ely, Minn., she was a daughter of Gust Hill and Aina Mikkola Hill.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A graduate of Ely College, she was married
to Dr. William Ray "Bill" McCollum, who served at Druid Hills Baptist Church and Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in Danville, Va., Mount Harmony Baptist Church in Rougemont near Roxboro, Island Creek Baptist Church in Henderson, Webber Memorial in Richmond, Va., and the Tar River Baptist Association as associational missionary in Louisburg.
She had lived in Winston-Salem for 14 years.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, survivors include three daughters, Patricia Crowder of Trinity, Pamela Sue "Susie" McCollum of Winston-Salem, and Ruth Sears of Fuquay-Varina; two sisters, Ruth Dorr of Silver Spring, Md., and Dora Greco of Duluth, Minn.; five grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday from Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Danville Memorial Gardens with Dr. Mark Corts and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Henry Powell, III
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Henry Melvin "Mel" Powell III, 38, of 5626 Atwater Drive, Lot 2, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at his residence after several years of illness.
Born Nov. 5, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of Henry Melvin Powell Jr. and Remona Dalton Powell, who survives.
He was employed as a receiving manager for Kroger in Greensboro. He was a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion Memorial Post. No. 325.
In addition to his parents of Danville, survivors include his aunt, Gayle Powell Anthony of Danville; and two great-nieces, Nancy Brown Scism and Patricia Brown.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Schoolfield Cemetery with the Rev. George Rumney officiating.
The family will receive friends at the parent's home, 225 Starmont Blvd., Danville.Barker Funeral Home, Danville, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Charles Niles Hogancamp
WENDELL, N.C. - The Rev. Charles Niles Hogancamp, 71, of 1183 Morphus Bridge Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Wake Medical Center.
The Rev. Hogancamp was the retired minister of Aiken Road Baptist Church in Eden and also served as the chaplain of the Rockingham County prison unit in Eden.
The funeral will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, Knightdale.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Hall Hogancamp; three daughters, Lorilee H. Falls and her husband William, and Rena H. Raper and her husband Bruce, all of Wendell, and Justine H. Beatty and her husband Tony of Spring Hope; two sons, Sgt. Jason Niles Hogancamp and his wife Maryanne of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Sgt. Brian Charles Hogancamp and his wife Teresa of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Joshua E. Horton of Eden, Mary Susan Horton of Camp Pendleton, Joshua Charles Hogancamp Raper of Wendell, Jason Niles Hogancamp Jr. of Danville, Va., Amanda Jane Hogancamp of Fort Campbell, Cassandra Lee Beatty and Charles Luther Beatty, both of Spring Hope, and Jessica Sarene Hogancamp of Fort Campbell.

Pansy Smith
PROVIDENCE, N.C. - Pansy Asbury Smith, 67, of 213 Gatewood Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in Danville Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Born March 18, 1931, in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of Rebecca Vance Asbury and Bane Asbury.
She was first married
to Guy Dickens and later to Lewis H. Smith Sr., both of whom predeceased her.
She was a member of Gurrantt Springs Baptist Church in Ruffin and was employed for many years as a key punch operator for Dan River Inc.
Survivors include two sons, Walter Dickens of Louisville, Ky., and Kenneth Smith of Providence; a daughter, Brenda J. Watkins of Providence; six sisters, Marie Talbert of Monroe, Violet Baxter of Columbus, Ohio, Earnestine Dickens, Cosby Ann Totten, Mary Dove Cornwell and Estelle Tinsley, all of Tazewell; three brothers, Walter Messer and Newt Asbury, both of Tazewell, and Bane Asbury Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles Dickens of Greensboro; and a sister, Willetta Rye Spalding of Philadelphia.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Gurrantt Springs Baptist Church by pastor Harold Coggins and the Rev. Mark Smith, pastor of Community Baptist Church, Yanceyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at Hooper Funeral Home in Yanceyville and at other times will be at the residence.

John Moore
MILTON, N.C. - John Warner Moore, 85, of Milton, died Wednesday, January 20, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Born in Caswell County, he was the son of John W. Moore and Margaret Pittman Moore.
He was married
to Hazel Brame Moore, who predeceased him on January 14, 1991.
He was educated in the Caswell County schools, and was a retired retail manager for Roses Variety Store. He attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Moore Amato of Vance County; two sisters, Carolyn Thomas of Milton and Maid Senter of Raleigh; one brother, Julian Moore of Wilmington; and one grandchild, Mary C. Oswald of Warren County.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Milton Cemetery, with the Rev. Joel Tate officiating.
Friends may call 7-8 p.m. today at Hooper Funeral Home in Yanceyville.
Memorials may be made to The Gunn Memorial Public Library in Yanceyville.
Isabella Williamson
YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - Isabella Bowe Williamson, of 202 Highway 62 South, died Tuesday,
Jan. 19, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, N.C.
Born Jan. 8, 1909, in Caswell County, she was the daughter of William Madison Bowe and Betty Graves Bowe.
She was married
to John Ervin Williamson, who predeceased her.
She was a member of Pearson Chapel A.M.E. Church and was a retired employee of the Caswell County school system.
Survivors include two daughters Mary Lea Hampton of Jamestown, and Diane Harris Ireland of Burlington; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at noon Friday at Pearson Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. J.E. Greene and the Rev. George Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body may be viewed 2-8 p.m. today at Fulton Funeral Home.
